MJ used his power and position to be able to ruin a girl of lower stature of him knowing he could get away with it. Not too hard to fathom that this is like some sport/ hobbie/ pass-time for him.

I personally know of a guy who traps pretty and naive girls like this. He's into politics , so every one stays silent out of fear . He works hard on each girl and after he's had sex with them , he dumps them recklessly.

This is the reality of the world.

In Western countries we have heard of men in 80s marrying 20 plus or 30 plus women

Why would anyone in 70s and 80s marry a 20 plus or 30 plus girl young enough to be a grand daughter?

Thats because people with wealth think they can buy anyone or attract anyone with their wealth

Same thing for MJ hes late 40s but wants to show that he can buy Maya

MJ was attracted to her first min he saw her but acted as if he did not like her

But when she refused his flowers his ego hurt and she became a game for him a conquest to be won at any cost

If not by money by emotional blackmail like cutting wrist drama

And maya fell for that

i think we should not jump into conclusion. firstly, in last two episodes, they didn't show any antara part. so i think in upcoming episodes, makers will show antara's side of story, how she met manvi and how she come to know about the ema? 🤓

I agree a normal person will not feel like ruining an innocent girl's life just coz she turned down flowers. But a normal person will not seduce his son's girlfriend to prove to him she is a gold digger either. In any which case he too snapped back at Maanvi rudely. So that was settled. I don't think Maya is imagining all of that. That would be too far fetched. Makers are just trying to show how twisted some people can get. At least if MJ just had a lust over Maanvi for which he did all that, I could understand the theory. That made it logical but here he went to this extent of getting his right hand, his best friend, his mistress to convince Maanvi he loved her. How sick is that? What had Maanvi done? She had not spurned him. She had not retaliated or humiliated him. She was just a nervous college fresher who was getting settled in the outside world, getting to understand the world around her. Being the naive person she was, she just took the first step to clarify to MJ she only looks up to him as an idol and nothing more. For that he ruined her life, spun a web of lies including his family. But one thing I do agree is makers should explore the dark side of MJ more for audience to relate to him. Else it makes little sense that a man like MJ who can have a new mistress every day invested so much time in a young girl who was pretty much ordinary.

Also the FB shown initially makes no sense. They show Maya walking in to the Roy mansion and it appears she is getting accustomed to it for the first time. After having been with MJ for months, won't she at least have got a flavour of his lifestyle? And Diya, Aamir I get. But how did Antara and Dadi get involved in all this? Also Diya probably meets Maanvi at the Roy mansion for the first time or maybe not. But not in the hospital for sure. Because if Maanvi met Diya for the first time in hospital and in the first meet itself she realised Diya is not to be trusted, how come Diya was affectionate with her when she greeted her? When did Maya come into the mansion? After she got pregnant? Or before? Can't be after coz after that abortion attempt, MJ confessed he was playing with her. He has already shown his horrible face to her. So y will he try and play nice? We might get answers in today's episode.

But one major disconnect is the FB scene shown after Rishi's death. In that, one would assume Maanvi had not informed MJ about the pregnancy and was enjoying it herself when he walks in questioning her. But here he himself has decorated the room. Made zero sense to me.

Amir is like MJ's "paltu kutta" (Sorry for using such language. But I didn't know what else to use). He will anything for him. In fact he does. Sudhir is also the same. I am sure he has many affairs like MJ. Otherwise he wouldn't have supported MJ.

Diya already has no problem being his mistress. She probably knew what she was getting into when she decided to be his mistress. Also we don't know what exactly happened between them when MJ told him he has got another girl pregnant. She may be got angry. But since it was Maya who was telling the story we couldn't see that part. Even if she were angry may be she couldn't leave him and tried to do whatever she could to save his ass i.e abort the baby.

And regarding the inconsistencies of the FBs. I think the FBs shown before were metaphoric including the one shown after Rishi's death like wedding promo.

I think he also rapes her after his friends force him and if i remember correctly they were all drunk.. i saw the drama 2-3 yrs ago when i started watching kdramas so dont remember the entire details..

The name of the drama is suspicious partner and its a rom-com with murder mystery as the bg.. the lead couple are lawyers and the female lead gets involved in one of the murder he does.. till the revelation was made that he is also involved as a viewer we will root for him even though he trapped the female lead.. its a pretty good drama..

I have watched that drama.

The guy loved the girl. He didn't rape her but he was there at the sight. Infact he was the one who invited her to the party & didn't bother to stop any of his friends or save the girl even though he knew their intentions. All he did was just watch the whole scene & say nothing.

But the girl couldn't survive and the rapists were saved by the lawyer whose son he killed and blamed it on lead actress of the show.

The scene & the guilt caused a mental trauma & as a defence mechanism his mind made a new story where he wasn't wrong in order to save himself from the guilt of not having saved the girl he loved. In his own mind, all of his friends deserved to die & so did the lawyer who saved those devils.

The whole show revolved around that until Wookie's character proves that he was the culprit as well.

It was a pretty great show with all the suspense. The villain guy was spectacular in acting & writing was great.

I remember her ex-bf getting killed and the judge being an asshole in the entire drama..

It was a good drama and i like nam ji ho in suspicious partner and 100 days my prince.. the chemistry b/w the leads were also good.. it was one of the initial kdramas i have seen.. havent seen a kdrama in 5-6months..

It would have been good if maya had similar problem like the villian in suspicious partner but i dont have much expectations from itv..

Bold underlined: EXACTLY the things I had in mind. You nailed it. This is why i think Maya has some kind of false memory which is the result of heavy trauma.

1) @TM,I do understand where you are coming from but at the same time we need to understand how a man like MJ's mind works. A criminal's mind is such that it seeks to justify their actions in one way or another. What is unreasonable to us may not be so to someone else. What reason did Ashwin Mehrotra in s1 have to torture his daughter who was his own flesh and blood? What reason do bullies in schools and colleges have to harass a fellow student mentally and physically? There are cases of professors holding a grudge against students for supposedly minor issues and taking it out on their grades. There are people who are nasty and ill treat just because they are in a position of power to do so.They do not need any specific reason. These kind of people get a kick out of stepping over a person. It makes them feel validated and empowered. They do not have any fear of retribution because they know that they are protected by their money or position or both.

MJ has a god complex due to his wealth and status. He considers human beings as puppets whom he can play with. Manvi was no different. He toyed with her until she amused him and threw her aside when she began to threaten his image.

And yes MJ targetting Manvi because she rejected his flowers seems trivial to us.But even in the real world, major issues have arisen due to trivial reasons. Let's take Jessica Lal's case for example. Manu Sharma shot Jessica just because she refused him a drink as the bar was closed. He didn't have to. She was just an employee and he could easily access the best drinks in the world. But it wasn't about the drink. It was a show of power to what seemed like an act of defiance by a mere waitress against him. Similarly MJ couldn't digest the fact that a mere employee had dared to reject his flowers which is why he played his cruel game of deception with her. His original plan was probably to use her and throw her away. But since her pregnancy had become a liability and she was beginning to raise her voice against him,he crushed her completely in every way possible. It was a Machiavellian move. He went out of his way to remove Manvi from the equation so that she couldn't rise against him again.

2. As far as the schizophrenia or mental illness angle is concerned then I don't think that's possible for two reasons. One is that they clearly established the fact from the very beginning that it was a revenge saga of Maya against MJ. They made sure that the audience is aware of the kind of man MJ before the past revelation occurred. Secondly the current ITV isn't capable of showing a proper psychological thriller so I wouldn't expect it from them. Beyhadh's theme has always been simple wrapped in a complicated package. Beyhadh 1 was about an obsessive lover who would go to any for the man she desired. Beyhadh 2 is about a woman who was wronged and seeks revenge. There is nothing more to it.
