On a more serious note, I was initially confused about Adi's change of opinions as well, but after reading a few posts and analyses on the forum, I think it all adds up. Adi didn't want kids back then, but he has reasonably matured since. I'm sure he would've matured in a similar way had Pooja still been in his life - as human beings we do tend to grow up over time, some later than others, that's all.
Adi made the kids comment in an effort to cheer his wife up and to initiate some intimacy between them. I'm sure if Zoya got pregnant tomorrow, Adi would be happy, but would also pause to re-evaluate where they stand in their life as individuals and as a family, and whether they are truly ready to be parents (what with all the Hooda and Siddiqui melodrama đ„±).
In his previous marriage, it seemed like Pooja wanted to have a child so she could instill some responsibility in Adi, not because they were both equally ready. I'm sure if they were ready, then Adi would be equally ecstatic to have a child - or hey, even if he was aware, he would give the matter a second thought and not jump at the idea of aborting their child. Pooja didn't even inform him of her pregnancy and went ahead with the abortion because she failed to communicate something so crucial to him.
So I guess the reasoning, level of maturity, companionship, and communication the respective couples share is different this time around. :)
