In reality, even in most arranged marriages nowadays, people to get physically intimate with each other way before marriage.

In a real world, I'm sure AdiYa would've consummated before marriage but given the circumstances under which their marriage happened they were left with no choice but to jump straight to a marriage.
I hope they don't depict AdiYa as shy, virginal, sexually-awkward people that ITV is infamous for

I agree. My Mil watches too many ITV shows and she doesn't really enjoy romantic scenes unlike some of us here, who drool over the lead couples chemistry.

For ladies her age, romantic advances are a still a taboo or something classified as 'unhealthy watching'

So I can understand why makers take cliched route of dramatising first nights, rather than making it a subtle progression of a couple's life.

Hope all that changes too. BP has really done well so far in that case.

I just want it to be at least implied. It's a very natural thing but still physical intimacy is such a taboo that I can't even write the word here! But anyway, idc if they show it as a long process or not but at least let it happen.
I actually don't think Zoya is going to be shown very shy and nervous like it happens in all other shows because she's been married before so neither her nor Adi are virgins. So hopefully, they'll treat the subject maturely.

Consummation is the most discussed and disputed concept in Indian television...when you consummate with your partner it is a way to acknowledge the acceptance of his love and existence in your life...it conveys the emotions you share with that person...Indian television has this age old concept of highlighting consummation that today in every show people just look out for this particular thing...if we are watching the journey of a couple then consummation is something you cannot avoid especially once they are married...but the subtlety with which it is handled is highly important...because we are watching a family show...

I think it is necessary to show the love they have for one another. They're both going to find each other, be free to love one another.
Adi iss mauke ko chodega nahi.. 😆
But it has to be done at the right time and not be rushed ... like a one for the history books 😳

I don't think the show is set for consummation so soon.
