I wrote this under another topic but i thought it might be better to make it a topic so:
The viewers are used to dramas that don't require much thinking. I've said this before in another post. That the makers of bepannaah are simply too intelligent for the mainstream audience.
They don't understand zoya at all. In fact they don't understand aditya either

ZOYA: let's see what we know about her. She married a man she loved with a passion. She didn't know him very well but she was infatuated with him. The idea of marital bliss with him and she built a castle of dreams. She trusted him with everything. Trusted him and left her family for him. She did not believe him capable of betrayal
Then her trust was shattered and so was she. She didn't know who to trust. She loved yash. He was having an affair. She trusted, befriended mahi, she was betrayed again. She trusted aditya. Stood against her father for him. Stood against Arshad for aditya
Only to find out that the man she had been so fiercely defending had in fact done one of the two things he had been accused of. She does not live in aditya's head. How could she know that he didn't mean any harm? Yes she did something similar to aditya and he did not react like that but THAT IS ADITYA NOT ZOYA. They deal with everything differently.
Now she is constantly being told by her father that every decision she's made has been wrong. The man she had defended before her father was proven to have lied to her IN FRONT of her father. She was trying to convince her father that he was her friend and that he didn't love her. That too was something that was rebutted by aditya. So everything she had believed in came crashing around her. So she decided why not just go with what my abbu decides for me? Since I'm incapable of making right decisions.

ADITYA: he's passionate. Everything he does, its extreme. He's too much to handle for most except with zoya where he meets his match. When his wife was found dead and holding hands with another, he gave her no benefit of doubt. He's impulsive.
He is absolutely confident in what he sees. Be it pooja's betrayal or zoya's love for him in his eyes. He likes to push everyone's buttons. He coped with his grief by making sure zoya believed the betrayal. Because her trust in yash made him want to believe in his wife but his mind knew better so he took it out on zoya. He goes after what he wants without thinking too much about it which has only increased since pooja's death because he had everything taken away from.
This makes him desperate to hold onto what he has. Which includes zoya. He can see she loves him. He loves her. It hurt him physically and emotionally to have accepted love again only to have his feelings rejected over doubts and fears because HE DOES NOT THINK LIKE THAT. he cannot understand why zoya would not want to grab onto another chance at happiness. At true happiness. He's trying to hold her because he's see her broken and he loves her too much to see her like that again.

Both love each other bepannaah. And this is why the show is perfection despite some minor issues. It is a very deep show

Looks like one of the best analysis. Initially I was incapable of understanding Zoya, now I do. But by proposing marriage to Arshad she is bringing another man in her messed up life and is emotionally cheating on Arshad which is very wrong. In trying to get back at Aditya she is being unfair to another human being.
