I am normally a silent reader here but today I've been forced out of my coccoon. I came here thinking everyone would be appreciating aditya and his move but I was shocked.
Firstly: let's talk about Mahi. She was someone who prevented zoya from being with her dead husband as his funeral was conducted. She kicked zoya out. The psychological torture she put a widow of only a few hours through is unforgiveable. Then after she pretends to befriend zoya, she tries to enlist aditya to help her in her scheming. Once that fails, she tries to ruin the event that was so crucial for the company, putting zoya in jail. She leaves her there the entire night. When zoya received the divorce papers, she had full intentions of kicking her out of the house and onto the street. When zoya attempts suicide, she audibly prays for her death. Then she sets goons on zoya. Those goons could have done anything once they had been payed. Such is the character you lot are sympathising with. And why? Because she happens to be a female in love. Great awesome. Somehow that is good enough.
Secondly: let us the not forget that aditya has been a witness at almost all of these occasions. He knows exactly how ugly mahi is as a person.
Thirdly: Despite knowing her so well he has taken the step to improve her. I swear everyone ranting here seems to have not seen the episode or completely missed the significance of the scene in their haste to rant. Observe Aditya's expressions when he is talking to mahi. He was not going to talk to her until she dragged him off. He was going to leave it for another time. But he decided to start two things. Keep her close so that she can't try anything further and and at the same time improve her, helping him achieve Zoya and her attention.
Look the guy is not in love. Him bugging zoya is a coping mechanism which has been repeatedly stated. And this happens. We all have coping mechanisms. He is annoying zoya and so keeping himself busy. He has been cheated upon too. He has lost his best friend. Let us not forget that his wounds probably run deeper. 12 years deep. Zoya coped by ignoring all signs of yash and his infidelity and then taking over the company. Aditya has no emotional attachment to the company so he can't cope by seeing it succeed. He has to cope by finding a verbal sparring partner. And not just any but someone who has gone through what he has and gets it. He is desperate for that. Can we honestly say that when we are sad we do not try to distract ourselves? Or talk to those who have been through something similar? He is doing the same. And it's harmless little pranks. But they keep him busy. After all only zoya could possibly know the pain. They are in the same boat.
Nowhere in that scene was it implied that he would not try to understand mahi and turn her into a version 2. It was his motivation that was clarified in his inner monologue. And why should he have any different motivation? He has no emotional attachment to mahi so obviously wanting to change her won't be out of the good of his heart. He has his reasons but he'll do what he stated. His expression was honest throughout. He simply found a means to meet two ends. Now whether he means to try and improve mahi or expose her, that is yet to be seen. But we know he does not mince words. He has repeatedly warned mahi. If he said that he will help her become better then he will. But his true motivation is zoya.
Now if everyone here wants to criticize his motivation then slow claps for you. Because Mahi is not only a girl in love. She is terrible human being. We all go through things. And it is our choice that defines us. Mahi chose this path. She cannot be excused because of what she may have gone through because she wants to destroy another person. If aditya wants to use her to elicit a reaction from zoya I see nothing wrong in it. Because he never implied that he would not help mahi in the way he said he will. He does not know she likes him.
He will unintentionally hurt her. But not maliciously. The way she wants to hurt zoya. He will reveal he does not reciprocate and the reaon he was willing to put up with her was zoya. That is true. But using someone is different. You do not try to help those you use. His motivation is zoya, his intent is to help mahi despite how repulsive sahe is bcz somewhere down the line he thinks he can change her. Now why he does it is not reason to hate him. The fact that he is doing it is what makes his character such an exemplary one.
What everyone here is doing is taking his monolgue to mean that he won't be doing as he said. He never said that. You guys assumed it. Give the makers a chance before you jump to conclusions.

With you all along - Mahi is terrible.. Adi's wounds run deep.. Zoya is coping with her trauma by busying herself with the company.. And Adi is using Zoya as a mechanism to keep himself going.. for want of better words..
And I will tell u where my reaction is coming from.. and yes I took his monologue at face value and did not read between the lines, if there was one.. Outright he says, Mahi is Zoya's weakness and he will make Mahi his biggest strength and thereby get Zoya to come closer..
that unfortunately did not lend itself, at least to me, as to the implied meaning that he was gonna see to it that he will do as he said to Mahi, or keep Mahi close to protect Zoya or anything else.. it sounded more like a game.. a cat and mouse game.. where the mouse is zoya and cheese, mahi.
And again, from the point of an act, I cant condone it..
