Zain: Impulsive, Egoistical, Childish

I don't know about others. But this present track is giving me a lot of insight into Zain & Aliya's characters. I already posted about their trust issues. And I have already seen umpteen topics on how Aliya is impulsive, that she was wrong to treat Usman with Yunani meds, how she has no right to make rizwan marry gauhar because *omg* it would ruin her sister's life.

So today I get to see so many different aspects of Zain which I think was illusionized in the show till now. 7 months of Beintehaa and it took ONE ego clash between Zain & Aliya to take back Zain to how he used to be when he was newly married to Aliya.

The ego clash is quite obvious. He felt insulted she went against his wishes. He was hurt she was taking him for granted according to him. This quality is understandable. This will give him the right character growth in the future.

His childish character erupts when he goes off to drink and sulk to her about how she is imperfect for him, or rather how his life is full of chaos because he married her. I am definitely referring to his drunken words. Its become a habit now for him. Hurt me, insult me, prick my ego, go against my wishes: I get hurt. I need to drink to forget the pain. How long will he keep doing this? One day he will know, his words were far more painful than the slap that Suraiya gave Aliya. His words cut her deeper, bled her more than that slap.

And the way he does the silent treatment with Aliya, like he wants to punish her by not talking to her? She acknowledges him at every turn, initiates a conversation to bridge the gap between them, and he refuses to cross the bridge on his half side.

His impulsiveness: What he did today truly shocked me. The way he made the decision to marry of his friend to his lover. It was a competition for him now. A competition he wanted to win, but at what price? Was his sister's future that easy for him to decide? I agree he did that for a friend, but he forgets he is a family man now. Aayat is his responsibility. He was trusted beyond measure by Aliya and her parents. He just broke that trust today. I have seen Zain make a lot of blunders in the past, but this one takes the cake. When Aliya comes to know this, when or if something happens to Gauhar or the unborn child, if it gets proved Rizwan abandoned a girl he impregnated, no amount of apologies from Zain is going to work.

thrught d episode i was thnkg ,what has happnd to zain...why is he bhavng lyk he used to 4mnths back...aftr shwng so much of maturity n character growth whatevr he did ,didn't at all suited him..even his scene wid aliya also..

I don't think I've ever been frustrated with Zain until today's episode. He whines about Aliya taking him for granted but I honestly think it's the opposite way round, he is taking her for granted. I think his starting to forget that SHE was the one who helped give a greater meaning to his life, taught him to appreciate his religion/going to work etc. Without Aliya he would probably still be acting like he hadn't a care in the world about anything whereas with Aliya she could have married anyone and she would still be this down to earth girl with great values/beliefs. Every single time he gets drunk, Aliya doesn't really 'punish' him so I think it's unfair the way he treats her when she makes her mistakes. He could have showed more remorse towards her at the end of today's episode. Aliya always has respected Zain no matter how much he hurt her, he should learn to do the same. He won't realise this until she actually does leave him. Rizwaan maybe his bestfriend but he should realise that Aliya and her feelings take priority, he knew that getting Rizyat secretly married would jeopardise there relationship even further at the point he should have though about what matters more his marriage or his friendship.

great post. Zain was always in favor of this marriage but none of the three are looking at the reality of the situation. There is a baby involved and what if gauhar goes to the courts and rizwan is proved legally as the father he will be legally responsible for the baby. Its like they r turning a blind eye to this very real baby. Zain might not want to hurt aliya but he felt tht his side was right and shalam would probably will be grateful for him helping ayat but boy how wrong he is this time. shalam are already disappointed with him, aliyas safety is worrying them and no parent would be happy with a situation like this. I really hope gauhar's telling the truth and all three to repent and i really hope aliya to be not so understanding this time.

Awesome post! Zain disappointed me big time he deserves a slap from Gulam ji for allowing Rizat to marry w/out his permission + for hurting Aliya. I wanna see Aliya give Zain silent treatment she forgave him too easy.

You said it all! I hope his character grows too and stop expecting Aliyah to forgive him all the time. Anyway all i have to say is if aliyah did not have the right to speak in her Mamu's matter than nor does Zain and that too against Ghulam and Shabana.

Zain's actions in this episode shocked the majority of fans because it was so unexpected, yes he knew he wanted Aayat and Rizwan to marry but like this? It was just moments ago he was upset with Aaliya for going against his wishes and his mother's yet he turned back and did the same thing.

I used to be under the impression this track was for character growth with Aaliya but it seems its as much for her as it is for Zain. Zain reverting back to old ways is something we expected given everything that has happened but this by far is the worst thing he's done and he will be shown repenting but will it be too late? Will Aaliya be able to forgive him? Things just got a whole lot more complicated for Zain and Aaliya and I'm interested to see how things unfold.
