Okay so it's the weekend and I can't wait for Monday so I'm using this as a way of keeping myself busy.
Beintehaa is one of the MANY shows that used the arranged marriage / forced marriage / hate marriage / love after marriage route. I'm going to list the other shows that I know of that have used this idea to frame their story around:
Current shows:
Rang Rasiya - Paro & Rudra
Madhubala - Madhu & Raja
Veera - Ranvi & Gunjan
Ye Hai Mohabbatein - Ishita & Raman
Pavitra Rishta - Ankita & Naren
Tumahri Pakhi - Pakhi & Anshuman
Saraswatichandra - Kusum & Danny
Ek Nayi Pehchaan - Sakshi & Karan
IPKKND EBP - Shlok & Aastha
Saathiya - Ahem & Gopi
Diya Aur Bati Hum - Suraj & Sandhya
Shows that have gone off air:
IPKKND - Arnav & Khushi
Dill Mill Gayye - Riddhima & Sid
Kasamh Se - Jai & Bani
Kayamath - Millind & Prachi
Sasural Genda Phool - Suhana & Ishaan
Kasauti Zindagi Kay - Prerna & Mr. Bajaj
Love Ne Mila Di Jodi - Damini & Prithvi
Bidaai - Saadhna & Alekh
There really isn't a point to my post. I was just thinking of all the different approaches that the same basic concept has taken on television. And no, I haven't watched all these shows, but living with my mom, aunt and grandmother has led to me inevitably knowing the story lines of each.
Do add shows that I have missed if you can think of any. :P
