I liked her acting as sister! She was perfectly fine! And those who are saying that she holds Zain every time is not good, then let me tell you that he is her brother! Additionally we think bad of her when she holds Zain because we are addicted to ZaYa and we want them close! So this is not entirely their fault but it's just that ZaYa is our saviour! Calm down people this is just bro-sis love and attachment! We will get ZaYa scenes when the time comes! The story is prgressing! They are friends right now, so being lovers is not very far 😳 Enjoy the friendship right nowww 😉 But I cant deny the fact that she did overact in the scene in the bedroom scene with her parents! Snatching her dresses and shoes which would by even fit her at this age 😛

Though I love HarshIka but its none of my concern what they do in real life and I like to keep onscreen and offscreen equations separate so my views are purely are on her reel self based and I hv found her just too weak among whole BI ensemble. Barkat character needed depth but she is way too shallow and had there been no articles about her being fake still it would hv taken alot on me to believe that she's real Barkat. Her act just show hollowness and she has only gone OTT in all her scene, she didn' t bring out right expressions and in right amount in any of the scenes. Even bedroom scene with ZaYa where she said about their cuteness, it looked as if she's trying to be just sweet, forced love and affection..

And as for Gauhar, she is annoying just no doubt about it but character is meant to annoy people hence people choose to ignore coz she's there just to irritate and neither the character holds any gravity nor any story to offer but thata not the case with Barkat. Even in precap Dimple's acting was so flat, it came to me as a drama set up to trap Zain.

And I guess one should not really generalise :) just bcoz some ppl hv problem with her coz of other reasons does not meab whoever disliking her act is for same reasons :)

I definitely agree with you Raisa. I think Dimple has been taken very harshly, by a lot, simply because they don't wanna see anything on their screens but ZaYa. BI is a show made of many other actors.

If it wasn't for the Barkat track, we wouldn't have even been able to relish the amazing performance Suchitra had put up, in the past few days. If it weren't for this track, we wouldn't have even seen ZaYa's second nikaah.

This track, has infact again brought BI to top the UK ratings recently, after a while & we've gotten back to the 1.8-1.9 range.

I haven't watch any shows of Dimple in the past, although I know, she's been around in the TV industry for a while. Yet, I liked the look of her as Barkat & thought, she was very nice in the Tuesday's episode. Barkat weeped for the most part, yes but her expressions were apt, when she had to look sad, shocked, dismayed, relieved & happy at the same time. There was such a range of emotions that she had portrayed in that episode.

Yesterday again, I loved her in the bedroom scene, when ZaYa were changing sheets. There's a certain docile & lovely look about the girl, which I've come to like. And I think Dimple's a very sweet, childish & jovial girl offscreen. I don't get some judgements passed at her.

dimple was a new entry, and an anticipated one hence obv there was going to be lots of interviews and questions. but everyone is saying she's been given an overdose in the show which i disagree with...in y'day's episode, she literally had few seconds worth of dialogues... the main focus was zaya. in the family reunion epi obv she needed 2 be centre of the epi becos it was her reunion with her long lost family... it's only been 2 episodes since she's properly made an entry and is therefore 2 early 2 say she's been an overdose and being completely written off due 2 off screen personality which is wrong.

articles/spoilers have always been posted and ruined tracks for viewers so its nothing new if articles relating to dimple/barkat have been posted too...

LOL I know I can't be sure I was kidding.

If you read my whole comment I did say that if things were to happen between the two it is none of our business.

For me she isn't that bad, just that she got way too much off screen footage before she even entered the show. I think it would have been better had everyone seen her as Barkat first and then Dimple on her own.

One reason that I didn't want her in the show, wasn't the childish reason of her coming in between HarshIka, but the fact that I saw her audition tape and I hated it. It was really bad and cheesy. I preferred another one who I don't know the name of. Otherwise I think she is really pretty and I liked her in her first show. She was cute there but here it just isn't coming across as that sweet little bond. For me I felt she was a little to frank with her bros (I'm talking about the character Barkat), I mean I would expect some hesitation because despite the fact they are her bros they are somewhat strangers for her. I think BI makers are just pushing everything way to fast and that may be why I thought that.

@ Unnati, I can say that I am one of those who did post regading Barkat and about my un happiness regarding her portrayal. But does it equal me to those who only want to see zaya and barkat is an obstacle for that. No absolutely no. Why to generalise like this dear? Sometimes few people just do not click with audience and I guess the actor concerned here is that. Moreover her inarticulate comments on enacting siblings feelings scene onscreen made it worse for her. Moreover the interviews she gave saying oh look I got so busy that I do not have time to party and all was just so obnoxious. Her single scene was not aired on the show and she was behaving as if she is the factor and people are going ga ga over her. This industry is ever buzzing but still its only the work which gets appreciated, nothing else. Look at Harshad and Preetika, no one knew them , but now every one is gushing because they delivered big time. Audience sees the product and whatever this actor delivered on screen was anything but at par with beintehaan standard. I did not watch tuesday episode vut I did watch yesterday one, she was ocer the top for my taste in the family scene. A young adult do not behave like that no matter what. This show and its actors have one unique flavour ie subtlety, she lacks that onscreen. And her reactions in the precap were pretty annoying too. May be I am being too harsh. But she is not the only actor who is playing side kick, ayat did, rocky did , even ott chakkiwala did. But all their scenes were amalgamated in a manner which looked like a story telling. Barkat antics do not serve the purpose, thats why this reaction. I will still maintain it was a mistimely introduced track in bi and for me thats the biggest drawback, nothing else.

Looking pretty and cute was never a criterion for me to like some one and thus I do not like her portrayal as she fail to conbect with me as a character of this storytelling. She needs to gain that empathy by her portrayal only. Hope she does that in near future.

I'm all up for honest, unbiased opinions & thank you for putting this across, as well.

I agree with you, that maybe they shouldn't have overexposed Barkat or Dimple, through a lot

of those offscreen segments, even before Barkat actually did enter the show. So maybe, that miffed a few.

But then again, it could very well be that, they were trying to promote the Barkat track, through those means & most importantly, get the audience prepared for what was to come. It could've been a marketing strategy at most, for people to get introduced to this character "Barkat' offscreen first & then, (out of all the curiosity now invoked) so they tune into watch her performance & the role of Barkat, in the show. And people did tune in.

Since I hadn't watched the audition tape, I didn't know how she came across as. But in the show so far, I didn't exactly think she was as intolerable, as a lot stated of her. Regarding her reaction to her brothers, I guess, I'd rather blame the writers or the directors for it. Because Dimple is just an actor & Barkat a character (who's envisioned by the CVs & the BI team).

@ Pinkeye - Payal, It's just that, for the most part, people have taken to her, in a manner as such, which hasn't exactly been very polite.(Cos again, I'm totally in for differing opinions, criticisms & differing viewpoints, as long as they're put across, constructively.) It's only when, it gets down to mocking & ridiculing, that the lines get blurred to me as well. (considering whatever & however negative, the forum has been, for the past few days, in regard to her) So yeah, not generalizing here at all or atleast, didn't mean to. My apologies to you again, if I came across that way.

I personally thought having already found out that Barkat is fake, her scene with Suraiiya and Osmaan was OTT...However, I thought she was fine in the scenes with Harshad...

Unnati I do respect your views too and please do not apologise. Sorry if my comments were offending.

About mocking, ridiculing, I get what you intend to say. But I guess people have their own way of expressions. Many like to put forth their points in a comic manner. May be you did not like that. Hope this forum and its posts give you opportunity to see what you wish for.
