She hugged him out of comfort, and he hugged her back. It was in no terms romantic.

She's his brother and his jiju too. In this given situation, I would have hugged too and expected a hug.

I don't get why everyone is behaving this way.

hugging bro is not a problem, but bro in law/jiju, is not acceptable/allowed in islam..
Dey r bro-sis
I didn't mind d hug, but it wud hve been more appropriate if she called him bhai:))

Im a muslim and I hug my brother in law. I dont think its a big deal. He is like my brother. It's all about the intention. Ayaat sees him as her brother. So I don't think it's a big deal to hug your brother in law. And if you guys don't mind Aaliya wearing such revealing clothes which is not allowed in islam, I mean comparing the two hugging your brother in law is nothing.

I and some of the forum members had problem wid her dress:)
Also it is not allowed to hug cousin/jiju/phupa/uncle in islam , but nobody follow all d rules in islam, even we shouldn't stand in front of em as dey are "na-mehram!! Some follow dis and some may not. Nobody is so pious and religious. I was just saying ayat should have called him bhai:))
I didn't mind the hug at all

Even I don't get what is with all the hungama over the hug? People are making such a big deal of it, and I don't see how is it inappropriate regardless of religion.

And with what she calls him bhai jaan or jiju it doesn't make it less awkward a brother or a brother in law would comfort their sister/sister in law anyway.
