chapter - 2

bindiya breathed a sigh of relief. The kids along with guddi and pintu made it on time. Otherwise if her father-in-law came to know about the kids sneaking out of their rooms early in the morning to go out, she along with the other women of the house will have to hear a row from him.

"kaha the tum sab?" the bade thakur was not ready to leave the matter there.

"chat pe"

"kamre mein"

"aangan mein"

"rasoi mein"

Came four different replies from the four people. Bindiya slapped her hand against her forehead.

satyanash. Ab hum sachi mein mare jayenge' she thought in her mind.'inko ek jhoot safayi se nahi bolna aata. Sab is poonam ke sanskari jaap ki wajah se he, ab yeh to fasenge hi saath mein hum ko bhi fasa denge.'

Poonam gave a what's going on' kind of look towards bindiya. Bindiya just widened her eyes as if saying 'I have no idea'.

"adi beta subha subha khel ne gaye the kya tum paro ko leke?"

"arre nahi papa woh toh apne kamre me hi tha. Meine hi uthaya he. Aur guddi aur pinto ko mene hi kaha tha ki in dono ko leke aaye." Bindiya jumped in saving the kids from further questioning.

After the pooja everybody sat down for the breakfast.

"maya?" bade thakur called u his bahu

"ji papa "

"mithilesh kab tak ayega dilli se?"

"who papa who dilli se aaj subha hi nikle he. Shyam taka a jayenge."

"tik he. Agar beech mein uska koi phone aye toh kehdena ki humko ya bhushan ko phone karde."

"ji papa hum keh denge."

Soon all the kids left for school along with poonam and guddi, as both of them now teaches in the nearby school. And the elder thakurs also left home to their shop. They now owned a small grocery shop.

Years before no one could imagine phullan thakur and bhushan thakur running a shop, and the thakur bahu and beti working. But time does change people, it changes the perceptions of people, some out of pure realizations and for some it was due to their helplessness.

Bindiya and maya both not educated as poonam and guddi was running a small catering business with the help of badi amma, choti amma and rekha. It was not a grand affair, but they did manage to save some money for the family so that they can support mithilesh in meeting the needs of the family.

Mithilesh had a small transportation business, true he didn't earn in lakhs but what he earned was always enough for his family.sometimes he would remember the old times, where he used to spend lakhs and lakhs of money without even giving a second thought. He cursed those days now, somewhere deep in his heart he still feels it's all his mistake that his family is suffering now. It was his foolishness that the women in the house was working to make a living, it was his fault that the kids are not able have a luxurious childhood which he had. He always thought that priyom will never forgive him, but deep inside his heart there was a tiny hope that kept telling him that priyom know him, he know that his bhaiyya can never kill him intentionally. And that he would always forgive his bade bhaiyya.

Years before when the thakur family was finally overcoming the grief of priyom's loss, and was trying to find solace in the news that bindiya was pregnant and priyom will always be with them in the form of his child, the haveli's happiness doubled when poonam realized her mistake, and asked for forgiveness from lakhan, everyone thought that with poonam and lakhan now remarried they all can have a peaceful life ahead. But it was just the silence before the storm, there whole world came crashing down when bhanu made a reentry in their life's, crushing down the happiness of the thakur haveli. From that day onwards the thakurs were on a run, a run to save their lives, a run from their past sins, an run from the land which gave them all the glory and power, from a land which was now wet with their own blood.

The thakurs now lived miles away from begusarai, here no one knew who the thakurs are, no one know the royal past of phullan thakur and bhushan thakur, no one knew who bindiya rani was, no one knew how priyom died, no one knew why mithilesh could not meet eyes with adi, and most importantly no one knew HIM.
