Laakhan Thakur was packing his stuff. Clad in a deep blue jeans and an Armaani tagged vest, he glanced at Poonam and went back to his packing. Poonam was in the room, the room she had one of the most beautiful moments in, where she had her first kiss, but it looked so strange. It looked like as if it never belonged to her. Slowly mustering up the courage she walked up to Laakhan Thakur and asked in that meek voice if he was going somewhere? As if Laakhan had turned a deaf ear to her, he kept gathering his stuff without making an eye contact with the girl he loved the most. It was extremely difficult for him to do that. He had never imagined the love that he achieved after years of waiting would crumple in mere three weeks. He wanted Poonam to be happy, to be free. According to him in order to free her from himself he first had to free himself from her. He was just trying to do his part, going away was the only option that made sense to him. Poonam standing behind Laakhan was still in thoughts of how is she going to apologize? How is she going to tell him that she loves him more than her life? She found no answers. Laakhan Thakur approached a photo frame which had their wedding photograph. That was the only thing Poonam would have been left with if Laakhan went away. She didn't want that photograph away from her eyes even for a minute. She held it tight from the other end. Laakhan was not ready to let go if it either, he gently pulled the frame towards him and Poonam pulled it towards her. The frame landed on the ground, glass breaking into pieces. That was the only sound which was produced in the room in the last seven minutes. Laakhan sat on his knees to collect the pieces, Poonam was watching in disbelief. It wasn't the glass that broke it was like as if her life shattered in front of her eyes and she wasn't able to do anything about it. Laakhan grabbed the picture and in the process a piece of the glass pricked his finger. Poonam could see a drop of blood on his finger, without thinking about anything she brought his finger to her lips and sucked the blood out of it. Laakhan looked at her in disbelief and pulled his finger away, she was teary eyed. This was the time Poonam had to stop him, if the drop of blood coming out of his finger made her so restless what would she have done without him? The thought made her lose everything she ever owned. She asked Laakhan if he was going somewhere. The words that came out of his mouth literally killed Poonam on the inside. He said he was leaving her. He was leaving this haveli. He was moving to Patna.
Tears and tears rolled down Poonam's eyes. She gathered all the courage she could have and asked him to stop. She wanted to give their relationship another chance. She wanted him to love her like he did all his life. She wanted him to hold on to her and never let go. Laakhan made her sit on the bed and said he would have to leave. He had no other choice, or rather she left him with no choice. He said he didn't want her to kill herself and stay in the relationship, he himself was probably already dead. He said the relationship would mean nothing without trust and love. He knew Poonam didn't have either for him. Poonam's tears were not stopping and Laakhan had promised himself not to cry. He held the bag and walked out the room. Poonam was sitting there numb and lifeless. Laakhan had left her. He had gone forever, to never come back. Her life came crushing down in front of her eyes. She had no other option but to cry. She cried as if she had never cried before. Laakhan could hear her from his jeep, a tear welled up his eye. His hands trembling, he started his jeep and drove away. He knew it was his last day at the haveli and in Poonam's life.
