I was thinking about making another post, but remembered this one. Thanks @Amri for making my job easy 😉 ... Some more points I would like to add ...
Can the creatives stop portraying their female protagonist as a willing doormat !!! Limit of ablaa-ness & bichari-ness !!! She was portrayed as thanking mr. kidnapper yesterday !! Ridiculous and unbelievable !!!!
Off-late, the whole Thakur family is being portrayed as absolutely devoid of any intelligence & common sense whatsoever. The creatives have literally converted them into a bunch of idiots, running chaotically. Even Lakhan is possessing more intelligence than both the PT's; defeating them using, unbelievably, his brain, which even a few days earlier was nonexistent !!! It's now absolutely unconvincing that PT actually runs a parallel administration in the district and nobody dares to protest.
The kidnapping of the kids was even more ridiculous. Bindiya & Ghungru could kidnap the Thakur kids from their own front porch and that too under broad daylight !!! Nobody did even for a second bothered to ponder over the fact that how the kids could be kidnapped from a heavily guarded house so easily and subsequently can be parceled to LT, in case some insider is not involved !!!
Kidnapping of children, using them as baits to force the respective family to bend to do anything including a forced marriage, abusive relationship are not uncommon, but they are punishable offences by law as well. I'm really surprised that the creatives are actually glorifying these social evils through their show !!
Anyways, Bhushan Thakur seems to have vanished into thin air out-of-the-blue !!!
Whenever I watch any series (I generally watch a single one at a time), I do that for the theme, story-line & characterizations; not for any particular actor or actress or chemistry. I do appreciate every actor's hard-work; but for me an actor & the character he/she is portraying are always separate entities. Now-a-days, I'm not enjoying this series due to absolute absurdity, chaotic logic or no logic and immoral things being portrayed. The only saving grace, I feel, is the brilliant acting capabilities of the actors portraying PT and both MTs.
You're welcome, Chandrima!😊
This whole track is preposterous. First of all, I do not have the gumption to see little children on the verge of getting killed. I do know that such horrible, horrible things happen in reality. I am not naive, but I prefer my TV fictional choices to be more pleasant.
I don't know how Lakhan has suddenly been endowed with brains, so much so that he knew of Priyom's plan to use Dolt. And Dolt himself is such a nincompoop, to have him fooling Daroga to the hideout was too much.
And I frankly do not see how there can be any redemption whatsoever for Lakhan. A man who burnt alive an entire family, is abusive, cares two hoots for his blood relations, sees his fiancee as his property, and wanted to kill his own niece and nephew. Too much!
To top it all none of the Thakurs seem to glean that a traitor is there in their midst. Another grouse of mine is when Danger Daadi blamed Poonam of all people for their misfortunes! 🤢 I mean, she was always portrayed as a feminist, who firmly believed in women's agency and who recognized the workings of patriarchy. But to show her reacting this way is disheartening. Perhaps she has lost her ability to reason because of her love for her great-grand children, but still...disappointing.🥱
Don't want to see Poonam marrying Lakhan and going through abuse on a day-to-day basis. I'll quit the moment it happens.I do not want to see yet another portrayal of a damsel in distress rescued by her knight in shining armour- Priyom, not to mention that she is a married woman! I do not have any desire to continue watching that and upsetting my mood.
Right now I am sticking with this show only because of Phoolan Thakur, who upheld his sense of duty and justice even under a testing time. He was perhaps the only one who showed his nobility and righteousness even when the lives of his grandchildren were endangered, along with Priyom who seems to be an able successor.
So what is your opinion- will Poonam be married off to Lakhan? Two things are ominous to me in this context.
1. The married woman whom Priyom helped in Patna was also abused by her husband. Foreshadowing?
2. Poonam had said that she'd die than live with Lakhan. Perhaps she'll try to kill herself after the marriage?
Both things are extremely unpalatable for me, esp. the second. I want Shivangi to continue with the show and for Poonam to emerge as a strong, independent woman with her own opinions. Par shayad mein bahut bada sapna dekh rahi hoon.
To speak of the only good thing that came out of this track- Darshan Dave and Vaishnavi Dhanraj got the scope to perform, and acted extremely well as helpless, anxious parents.
