And it's perhaps the occasional gushy fangirl that makes an appearance in the otherwise reasonable twenty something adult, but I really liked the small scene with Priyom and Poonam in the beginning where he looks at Poonam, which is a comforting nod and a questioning glance simultaneously.

Well enacted by Sartaj, and I just realized that Sartaj is actually very handsome.

And that the Priyom and Poonam ship actually has scope for intensity.

Unfortunately, it seems that the creatives are hellbent on messing up with the initial character-sketches of the relatively stronger characters. Yesterday they have simply butchered Badi Granny's. The dialogues she uttered were totally out of her character. Being so feminist, logical and to-the-point throughout, it was absolutely absurd for her to utter those lines to Poonam. My question is whether she would be portrayed as intentionally forcing Priyom to act in identical manner once Bindiya blackmails the Thakurs using some equally drastic mechanism !!! For me, unfortunately she has joined the already long & ever-growing list of negative characters.

Though the creatives are literally providing one jolt after another in a consistent manner by introducing illogical and sick tracks, I have a gut feeling (I agree that I'm absolutely nowhere with my guesses.) that either of the two things may happen: either Lakhan/Poonam marriage or no marriage due to the sudden appearance of an outrageous scapegoat. Now in the latter case, that character might be PT (as Lakhan & Bindiya are both after him) or Badi Granny. Anyways, I am really hoping that somehow the creatives, using some unimaginable twist, do not execute any whatsoever marriage. That would be, at least for me, the biggest twist; otherwise the story would become absolutely predictable and a clone of any "xyz" series.

Lastly, I'm confused regarding how Chhoti Granny (I suppose she is Madhavi Gogate; if I'm not wrong she played Sujal Garewal's mother in EK's "famous" show "Kahiin To Hoga") is related to PT's family !! I wonder whether she is his step-mother or Badi Granny's sister !!!

Very true, the nature of their relationship hasn't been clarified so far. I even wonder sometimes if she is her sister, sister-in-law or any other relation.\

And yeah, she was Sujal's mom in Kahiin to Hoga. She always plays demure, motherly roles.

Yes Chandrima. Both of them are stellar. And even Shweta Tiwari, I am surprised by how well she's doing this seductress/manipulator role. It's perhaps the last thing you expect of an Ekta Kapoor heroine. She's actually impressed me a lot with this show.

I watch 'Qubool Hai' and the Heer of Ekta Kapoor's 'Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil', Additi Gupta is also outstanding in the negative role! Too bad Indian tv soaps give stereotypical roles to actors most of the times, when they are capable of doing so much more. So rare to see exceptions.

Yeah, jai ho Ekta Maiyaa ki. Additi is actually good in the negative role from the promos I've watched on Zee. Stopped watching since Gul unnecessarily killed the protagonists. She is Ekta 2.0😆

The point is that the creatives have messed up with Badi Granny's character in a very big way. Not only did they turn her extremely selfish but also an absolute idiot. She was never ever being portrayed (until now) as this dumb to daydream that if Poonam is being served to Lakhan, the problem would be resolved; i.e. peace would reign and suddenly he would become a good boy out of the blue. How is she unable to deduce that Lakhan's next target would definitely be the throne and in order to get that he would definitely try to annihilate his uncle's family !!! Truly, Phulan Thakur is THE most sensible character of this series till now.

^ Exactly. She was always shown to be a person with a lot of wisdom and foresight, so to have her behaving this way is disappointing.

aaj to Poonam Kumaari deviji ne mahaanta, ablaa-ness aur balidaan ke saare hadein paar kar di. Instead of shooting Lakhan, who fired a bullet which eventually injured Priyom, she was requesting him with "aap yeh ... aap woh" !!!! And yes, her "mar jayengey par Lakhan ki kabhi nehin hongey" resolution bubble was blasted as well. I never ever have encountered a series, not even the ones from the great EK factory, having a female protagonist being this abhorrent !!!

Anyways, today it was again Darshan Dave and Narendra Jha show !!!! They were just brilliant !!! They are literally setting the screen on fire whenever they are coming together. Nandini Sengupta as well was fabulous today. Instead of torturing us with this absurd marriage drama and subsequently driving us away, the creatives could have explored the talents of these amazing actors by revolving the story around them intelligently & logically and side-by-side could have woven a real love-story. But no, they need to focus on an non-existent love-story to get the TRP.

^ Exactly. It was such a touching moment between father and son. So well-enacted and emoted by Darshan Dave and Narendra Jha. Moments like these remind me why I watch the show in the first place.

And the less said about Poo, the better, even EK heroines have some agency in that they do jasoosi and play a role in the downfall of the vamps/villains, and spout pages and pages of dialogues challenging them to a fight. Par yahan toh woh bhi nahi hai!!!

P.S. The single scene with Rekha was quite powerful and stood out because of the actress (though it was cliched to the core). Kudos to her! You can see that Rekha burns in agony seeing the rise of Phoolan's brood and their relative insignificance. Good scene.
