Part Nineteen
Later that morning, Sindoora announced she would have Amar and Divya's engagement party the next evening.
Bharat realized that his mother was surely up to something. Rajeev hoped the kids would do something soon to lower Sindoora's guard down. Sindoora knew him too well, but Bharat, Amar and Divya had the advantage of being able to change themselves quite easily. Sindoora knew Sagar and Vidya and she knew her son as a child. However she was unaware of their confidence and schemes. They could win this war if they continued with the great planning.
When the clock struck eleven that night, Amar and Divya smiled at each other as they approached the old room.
Bharat had arranged everything as he recalled. He brought them the same clothes and he brought fake blood to the scene.
They noticed Rajeev coming towards them.
He had the key to their old room.
"Divya do you remember where you were shot?" he inquired.
She nodded briskly
Amar took the brush and dabbed the fake blood on her sari. She took the brush from his hands and dabbed it on his shirt. Bharat took the brush from their hands and started to let it drip on the floor and up to the door. Rajeev opened the door and the couple went inside to await the signal.
Sindoora went for her nightly walk close to midnight. Bharat had given them the signal. She was approaching the area.
Sindoora stopped short seeing the drops of blood on the floor. Then she saw the door was locked yet blood was stained up to the door. She grasped for the key under her pallu and opened the door. More splatters of blood greeted her as she approached. She trembled as she walked into the room.
Then she saw them.
They said nothing, but merely stared at her presence in the room.
Sindoora turned pale as a bhootni and walked slowly back out of the room. She rushed to her room, where she had flashes of the crime she committed twenty-two years ago. She tried in vain to let her fears get the best of her. It took her a half hour to calm herself down. By this time Amar and Divya were fast asleep in their own beds.
"Yeh sub kaise hogaya?" she wondered.
She first went to Divya's room.
"She is sleeping like an angel. How I wish I could catch her acting normal, and then I could kick her out of her and have her killed," Sindoora thought to herself.
Next she hurried to Amar's room.
He was sleeping and was muttering something in his sleep.
She walked in the room to get a better listen.
"Divya needs to get treatment. I have to find someone who can help us," he muttered.
Sindoora smiled to herself.
"So Divya's case is genuine. Amar is worried about her getting proper treatment. Tomorrow after the party, I'll find a way to keep her this way forever she said to herself.
Amar's grin in his sleep, turned into a grim expression. He would have to take Divya to Beneras right after the party was over. They couldn't risk anything to turn against them in the tide. They had to win.
However Sindoora was disturbed as to why she saw those ghosts came to haunt her tonight. Could this mean Amar and Divya were starting to remember their past lives? Anyway if she got Divya taken care of by tomorrow's end, her work would be half finished. Then she would retrieve Samrat from jail and keep him around in case Ankiet came back to further instigate Bharat. For now she needed to plan how to get rid of Divya. Guruji said Amar and Divya together were too strong to defeat, but divided she could easily destroy them.
Sindoora had gotten scared but she wasn't backing off on trying to hurt them. This is what Amar understood. He hadn't been able to do the right thing last time, but this time he would try his best to ensure everyone involved in this plan survived. Suddenly he decided to do one more thing before sleeping. He grabbed the remaining fake blood and hung it from a pail above Sindoora's bedroom door as she slept.
He rushed off and hoped this would scare her a bit more.
