The buzz is that producer Ekta Kapoor has spent a whopping Rs 22 lakh on a single episode of Kasamh Se. Apparently it was a special episode that was the turning point in the show. The colour scheme that the production house chose for the episode was red and black. "There was an elaborate dance sequence a la Devdas, that itself must've cost a fortune," informs Pia, or Roshni Chopra. Her co-star Prachee Desai who was dolled up in a designer sari says that her attire was specially designed for the scene. "It took more than a month to create the entire set-up," says Prachee.

Grand stand: An opulent set from the show

"Normally the production cost of an episode doesn't exceed Rs 55-50,000, but this one had to be special," admits Ekta. However, she shies away from disclosing the exact amount of moolah she spent on the special episode. "But I can assure you that it's the most expensive episode shot on television," adds Ekta.

According to sources the money spent on the episode was worth it because it starred a lot of other real life couples too. "Hiten Tejwani and Gauri Pradhan, Eijaz Khan and Anita Hassandani made their guest appearances. Their costumes too were very heavy," says a unit member.

The technical team of the show says that the production house had to seek the permission from the channel before deciding on the budget of such an expensive episode. "They received a green signal only because Kasamh Se has decent TRPs. Had it been any other show, they would have never got the permission," adds the source.
