Vidya paced in her room, occassionally checking the windows for any signs of Saagar. It was past midnight, and he was still not home. He had left with Surili to go to the party nearly five hours ago.
Vidya knew that he was capable of taking care of himself, but it didn't stop her from worrying about him. Especially, since he had gone with Surili.
She wondered if he had somehow sneaked in without her noticing. she had moved her belongings to the other room earlier, as soon as Saagar had left. She'd realized that since he didn't remember her, she was a sranger in his life. She had faith that he would remeber their relationship one day, but till then she didn't want to intrude.
She walked towards his room, and peeked in to see if he had returned, but his bed was empty. Vidya sighed and turned around to leave, only to bump into someone.
"Why am I not surprised? Ab kya tumhe raat mein chalne ke bhi aadat ho gayi hai? Raat ke ek baje, jab saara ghar so raha hai, tum kya kar rahi ho?
"Aapka inte.." Vidya stopped herself, "Uh Good..Naeet." She walked past Saagar to go to her room, but was stopped by Saagar, who grabbed her wrist.
Vidya winced, gasping lightly as he grabbed a sore spot from earlier.
"What? Kya hua?"
Vidya pulled her hands away quickly, hiding it behind her back. "Kuch nahi. Aap..."
"Show me your hands."
"Ji?"
"Just, apne haath dikhao." He reached behind, and taking her hands in his, pulled it out front.
Vidya's wrists was bruised lightly and sported red marks. Saagar stared at her hands, "Yeh nishaan kaise?"
"Woh...meri..."
"Yeh mere hai? I did this?"
Vidya tried to pull her hands away, but Saagar held onto them, lightly caressing her bruises with his fingers.
Vidya's hand quivered slightly under Saagar's tentative touch.
"Vidya tumhaare haath ko kya hua?"
"Kuch nahi woh pakaate waqt thoda jal gaya, kuch nahi."
"Stupid." Saagar tapped Vidya's forehead. "Sambhaal ke khaana nahi paka sakti. Then he took Vidya's hand in his, "Bahut dukh raha hai?"
Vidya smiled at him, shaking her head. "Nahi."
"Jhooti." He leaned in and kissed her palm and fingers. "Abhi slowly theek ho jayega."
Saagar pulled Vidya's hands to his lips and kissed her wrist, "Abhi theek ho jayega."
Vidya and Saagar both stared at her hand. Both shocked at what had just happened.
Saagar couldn't believe he had kissed her hand. There was that familiar tingling sense again. He had acted out before his mind could even comprehend what he was doing.
Vidya, herself, was having trouble believing. Her heart paced in response, ans she stood rooted to the spot unsure of what to do.
Saagar let go of Vidya's hand. "Sorry. Woh main thak chooka hoon." He was tired, that had to be it. He just needed a good night's sleep, and he would be fine.
"Ji." Vidya moved towards her room, and Saagar realized why he'd stopped her in the first place.
"Abhi itne raat kahaan ja rahi ho. Kamra is taraf hai."
"Nahi, yeh aapka kamra hai. Maine apni cheeze hata di hai. Main us kamre mein reh loongi."
"Oh. Tum..ok. Theeke." Saagar shrugged, "I guess Goodnight then."
Vidya nodded and left. Saagar watched her walk into the other room, then himself went to his room. He got ready for his bed, and climbed into the bed, resting his head against his pillow. He was about to close the light, when he noticed that Vidya's pillow on the other side. She usually took it to sleep on the floor. He reached out and ran his hand over the pillow, that looked abandoned.
"More pillow for me." Saagar pulled the pillow towards himself, and wrapped his arms around it before he fell asleep.
