SAB TV Launches 'Mrs. & Mr. Sharma Allahabad Wale'

SAB TV, India's leading family comedy entertainment channel launches a new family comedy about a simple and sweet loving couple Mrs. & Mr. Sharma Allahbad wale who migrate from Allahabad to Mumbai. The challenges they encounter in their way of life and their value system comes into direct conflict with the metro centric life of Mumbai which lead to hilarious situations. Inspite of their simplicity, Mrs. & Mr. Sharma Allahabadwale manage to win over most obstacles. The show premieres on SAB from May 17th, 2010 every Monday-Thursday at 9.30pm.

Speaking at the launch Mr. Anooj Kapoor, Business Head SAB, said, "Original and differentiated content continues to be the key foundation of our strategy as we grow and expand to offer the best of programming to our discerning audiences. In order to increase our reach in the Northern belt & central India we have roped in Divyanka Tripathi who has a mass fan following in these markets and one of the finest and very popular comedy actor Rajesh Kumar in Mrs. & Mr. Sharma Allahabadwale."

Says Rajesh Kumar aka Mr. Sharma, "In this show I am in a complete new role which is very different from the characters I have played earlier. I find the concept of a small town family coming to a metro and the day to day comical situations that arise while they face the challenges of adjusting to a new environment very relevant, and I'm sure a lot of people will be able to relate with it."

"This is the first time I am delving into comedy space and I am very excited to portray the character of Mrs. .Sharma. She is a typical housewife and throughout the track my character will keep the audience in splits. I have been given a very different look in the show and my onscreen chemistry with Rajesh is simply hilarious and to watch out for," said, Divyanka Tripathi aka Mrs. Sharma.

Mrs. & Mr. Sharma Allahabad wale depicts the journey of middle class family instilled with small town values and beliefs. The head of the family, Mr. Drasht Dyumn Prasad Sharma, is a man who is happy with his family and job, grounded with his own set of beliefs and customs. On the other hand, his wife, Mrs. Rashmi Sharma, is a typical housewife who has never seen the lures and charms of a big city and has blind faith in her husband. With a prospect of a better future, Mr. Sharma accepts the offer placed to him by his company to go to Mumbai. What happens to the Sharma couple, what encounters they face in their daily life and funny situations that arise due to these situations…Catch all this on SAB TV starting May 17th, 2010 every Monday-Thursday at 9.30pm.
