Maulik in his room thinks about how to talk to Santu about his marriage when his phone rings.. It was Samarpreet..
Maulik: Hello..
Samarpreet is quiet but Maulik senses something is wrong.. He knew that his bubbly girlfriend was down..
Maulik: What's wrong SP?
Samarpreet: Maulik.. Dad..
Maulik: What happened? Is he okay?
Samarpreet: He had a heart attack..
Maulik: I'm coming.. Don't worry..
Samarpreet: No.. please.. Not now.
Maulik: but why? I know you need me know..
Samarpreet: I know.. But Dad…He will be fine.. And plus I want you only to come with Maa and Papa now..
Maulik: I promise.. That day will come soon..
Samarpreet: I just want assurance from you.. I want you to reunite the family.. Maa and Papa.. I want the family to be one again.. Promise me Maulik..
Maulik: I promise you.. I will only come with my rishta when I have sorted out my house circumstances..
Samarpreet: I have to go now.. We are going to see Dad..
Maulik: I will phone you later.. Don't worry, Dad will be fine. I love you.
Samarpreet hung up.. Maulik looked at the phone and didn't know what to say or where to start. He needed to fulfil his promise to his wife to be.. He needed to see his happy family again.. Even if that meant forgetting the pain of the last 10 years.. He would do it..
Maulik spoke to DM about Samarpreet's dad.. He told DM that he didn't want to get married yet as SP wasn't ready emotionally and he too wanted to sort out certain things..
DM was upset but he smiled seeing that his son was becoming responsible..

Some weeks later
Birwa and her husband came to see Suraj and DM.. As they said their goodbye's, Santu was intrigued to see the man that her daughter had married. She walked down but her Son In Law was sitting with his back towards her.
Santu called out to Champakali hoping he would turn around and she would be able to see him.
Walking closer, Birwa saw Santu and got up..
Birwa's eyes were filled with tears upon seeing her mother, she looked at her but looked away with shame
Santu wanted to hug her daughter but knew she had to keep up the hard front or else everyone would know the truth and she wanted to protect Birwa no matter what..
Standing up now Birwa's husband turned around to see Santu and Santu with shock was taken aback..
Birwa's Husband: Santu… you here?
Santu: Karan Sir??
Not understanding what was happening Birwa placed her hand on Karan's arm..
Birwa: What's wrong? Do you know each other?
Santu: Karan Sir? You are Birwa's husband?!?
Karan was shocked that the women who was a secretary in his office was the Maalkin of Dharampur.. She was his mother in law, the mother who had sacrificed her life. He was speechless seeing Santu as he never imagined her being the woman that the family praised so much.
Karan: Yes, I am Karan.. Birwa's husband..
Santu didn't have words…
Karan bent down to touch Santu's feet.. Santu stopped him..
Santu: What are you doing??
Karan: I am your boss at work but here you are my wife's mother and I am your son in law.. This is the first time I have met you and want to have your blessings.
Santu felt tearful and was so proud to have Karan as her son in law.. She had often thought as to who Birwa had married and had always wanted someone like him for her daughter.. Placing her hand on Karan's head she blessed him with every happiness in the world.
Karan: I have always wanted to see the Devi that gave my wife a new meaning for living.. Who bestowed her life away so that Birwa could rebuild a new life..
Birwa was crying as she stood listening to her husband praising the woman who sacrificed her every happiness so her happiness was lessened.
Karan: What you did for Birwa is only something that a mother could do.. You sacrificed everything.. Even papa.. Just so Birwa would never have to suffer..
Santu didn't speak and as she was about to say something she saw Maulik.. She was scared and prayed that he hadn't heard anything but it was too late.. He now also knew the truth.
Birwa looked at Karan and told him that they must leave as it was Baa's lunch time and Kaddu was away so she wanted to ensure Baa got feed on time for her medications..
She smiled at Santu..
Karan: See you tomorrow at work..
Santu smiled weakily as she was worried what Maulik would do now he knew..
Watching Birwa go, Santu ran up and found Maulik in his room.. He was sitting silently but his eyes were filled with tears..
Santu walked over and placed her hand on his shoulder..
