My prediction:
Taru gets attacked by the Dacoits on her way back from the function. They molest her or rape her which only Subhadra knows. (Maulik can be her son) Somehow Taru blames Kanji Waghela responsible for all this and goes and takes revenge on him. She instigates DM to punish Kanji, who is actually innocent. Kanji had a small daughter who he left with Reva and Chhagan(Khemi's parents) and that is Khemi.
They showed Reva was pregnant in the flashback, she might lose her child or was pregnant with Santu and brings up Khemi as her own daughter.
This way the whole mahisasur wadh theory comes in place and its divine justic too because Khemi comes to the same household that had killed her father. Chamku is related to Kanji and hence knows the whole truth.
