Today episode,
DM tells Shambhu's father that Shambhu is like his son and now the marriage is his responsibility and no one can stop the wedding now .. it is his promise.. "
One side there was all this drama about CHOTI JATI ,CHOTI JATI and then on the other side DM says Shambhu is like his son and now the marriage is his responsibility. If DM considered Shambu as his son in the first place, then why the drama about thinking about his and Khemi's marriage.
Same thing happened with Shambu during Kaddu's engagement, Motiben scolded Shambu and then Hiten steps in , and claims that Shambu is family (always considered Kaddu as sister).
This has happened many times in the episodes with Santo too. I hate these double standards.😲
Just because DM and Hiten NOW have feelings for lower class women suddenly these once arrogant men are standing up for the lower class. Hypocrites!!! 😡
I hate listening to this word CHOTI JATI, it sounds like a curse (gaali) word to me every time it is used in the serial.

So true. I hate that term, and DM makes sure he utters it like a mantra.

As any EK show,Bandini started in a very postive note,DM was a solid character back THEN,the show rock-ED.

Right now its a strange bundle of double standards, its difficult to know who the lead is--RR,or Mrunal?

Bharat is equally good, but he is seen less.

Well,Ekta proved once more, after KS,how she can kill shows.

rpmenon- do you mean KS as Kasturi- because Ekta certainly killed that show and now she has killed TSPLS - no reason why she shouldnt kill this one.

Re the class ridden society- thats how it comes across. I also seriously object to 16 year old Santo marrying DM who is well into his fifties. I wish they had given a twist to the story so Santo ends up with Duggu Shashank and Hiten marries the sister. Also the Choti jati is too willing to accept its status especially Khemi!😕

choti jaati!!!!!!!!! very irritating to hear this word!!!!!!! wonder why no organization is taking them to court!!!!! 😉 I do not know abt other soaps..but this is the first time that I am hearing that word used this frequently in the name of entertainment..a soap..albeit it being a part of it..🤢

Untouchability is a crying shame in India🤢at the end of the day u r thoughts😆the way u treat people..the way u speak to them...tells a lot ! not u r status..It's human nature to me..not class!!!!!!!!!!!!

no power ..no influence..when they r people who struggle to keep the wolf from the door on a daily basis(they eat that roti with saltsays so much abt their poverty) I naturally do not expect them to voice their opinion more openly..I think they have resigned themselves to their fate..as Victims..it will be good to see a change but in reality it is only a talk ..no substance

Personally I too find it tough to accept the leads story...that age diffffffffffffff

forget DM...according to me its motiben who repeats the phrase like a prayer!! if i continue my 'eye rolling' when that phrase is uttered i'll be in big trouble!😆 i am seriously itching for Motiben's dirty linen to be washed in public *evil laughter* 😈😆 so that she'll be reminded that she herself was a chhoti jjaati ki ladki who got preggers before tying the knot! the way she lashes out at Santu and Khemi makes me soo friggin' maddd!! oh, but justice will be duly served!! HAAAAA!!

At first what got me interested in the show was the age gap and a potential love story. In Harlequin romance novels, you find characters like Santo (the quiet innocent girl) who falls in love with the older (quite older) dashing arrogant upper class man (like DM). I thought the struggle would be the age gap and making DM fall in love again and forget the first wife, Subhadra. THen this lower class drama started and now I'm confused with the love story. DM and Santo have become two saints always trying to do the right thing! I want passion, romance, happy moments, silly moments, I want something light to watch and smile and giggle at the chemistry between DM and Santo. I'm only watching the show because I'm still waiting for the DM and Santo love story to happen!

I wish the writers had handled the caste system scenario in a better and socially conscious way. Caste system Both the production house and the channel have the opportunity to show that there is no 'oonchi jaati ka khoon' or 'choti jaati ka khoon'. Motiben mouthing the 'choti jaati' dialogue time and again is very annoying.

In yesterday's episode it was very disappointing to see DM give the OK for the Khemi-Shambhu marraige based on fairness and the honor of the Mahyavanshis and not because of the caste system. He told Motiben that justice and fairness did not differentiate between blood which kind of implied that he believed there was a difference in people based on blood. At least that was what I heard and how I interpreted it.
