Wow...Shekhar is a slime...he is using her and Deep is too infatuated to see that. He used her to get to Indian Idol...he will use her to make it big and then he will parade around with a new fancy on his arms.

Deep had visited Mumbai on and off with her father to attend various meets organised by different Chambers of Commerce and other jewellery organisations, hence she knew the city quite well. Earlier during the day they got married in a simple ceremony. It seems Raj Mahiyavanshi is a very private person. After consultation with the doctor a date was set end of the week. Supposed to be a very auspicious date, Gauri had exclaimed, Deep showed no interest even when Gauri pulled her to buy her wedding trousseau. Times are hard Bhabi why bother she informed Gauri while thinking Bhabi must be glad to see her go, no difference of opinion and no jhik jhik….

In between she had visited Madho Solanki in the hospital, she listened to him all he had to say with her eyes lowered. The day before of her wedding when he was being released, Hiten was completing the paper works, paying the bills when her father caught her hand, I know you are thinking we are pushing you but then beta I hope you will realise this is for your best. Deep blinked her tears, yes definitely she thought lekin papa mujhe maaf kar dena, the day I walk out with Shekhar, don't blame me.

They got married in the Arya Samaj Mandir, Deep in a bright red bandni sari with zari work. As she got dressed, her father came with the jewellery, your mother had come with me in a single sari and glass bangles, I did not have money to buy her mangalsutra but then when I would afford I had gifted her with these, now they are yours….he started putting on the same on her. He himself ran away from home with their mother….that too without any family support….

She did not even look up to see Raj Mahiyavanshi when she exchanged garlands with him, went through the wedding ceremony mechanically, did whatever she was asked to do…..after the wedding, they took blessings of the elders as a couple….

Motabhai the pilot called, he has got permission to take off within 40 minutes, we should be leaving now…Deep looked upto see a tall lean man with thinning hair and spectacles softly informing Raj….

Ha Pinakin, call the car, lets get over with all these rituals I am already tired of it….

As the tyres rolled Deep suddenly felt alone, the man next to her was now her husband, other than knowing he was a leading jeweller of the country, she did not know anything else, the man sitting in the front next to the driver was speaking softly, informing him about the phone calls he received as the news of their marriage was spreading, why are the people so surprised to hear Raj Mahiyavanshi getting married, was he not supposed to? What is wrong? For the first time, Deep stole a glance at her husband.

As they got down from the flight, Raj casually held Deep, she cringed involuntarily….she felt his eyes on her but he did not let go her. As the car sped towards their destination, she noticed they were driving out of the city…..

The place was very quiet, no hustle bustle of city, the houses along the road looked big, for many she could only see the gates …finally the car came to stand in front of a high gate, which was opened promptly, the car drove in which seemed to be a long driveway….finally the house came into sight, decorated with lights it looked cheerful. The car stopped at the portico, Pinakin jumped out and opened her door…..ayiye bhabiji….

Yeh kaha a gaye hum….for the first time since the ceremony Deep spoke….

Aapka ghar me bhabiji, motabhai idhar hi rehta hai, aajse aapbhi rahengi unke saath.

Saher se itna dur

I do not like the hustle and bustle of city and with modern communication system, distance does not matter his first communication to his newly married bride…

Good god, how will I get to see Shekhar who is scheduled to arrive in a few days time, will he allow me to travel to and fro the city everyday, are public transports available, thought Deep

Deep climbed up the steps the door opened, a lady stood holding an 'arati ki thali' without a smile on her face….

Deep this is my elder sister, the mistress of this house and she has brought me up after my father died in an accident….

His father died in an accident, just like my mother, well good he already has a mistress for the house, the lady gave her a stiff smile before doing the rituals,

Mera naam Tarulata hai, tum mujhe Taruben bula sakte ho….she stated…

Ji Taruben, Deep whispered…..

Ayo tumhe ma se milati hu……Deep hesitated…..

Jayiye bhabi, aapki ka ghar hai, once again Pinakin assured….now Deep looked upto him and gave a tentative smile…..

Aiye he smiled too…..

The lady was sitting on a wheelchair, her son was taking her blessings, ayo beti she called out….yehi hai Deep, she asked,

Ji amma…..

Bahut sundar…..she opened the diamond bangles from her hand, putting them on her she said…beta fill this house with laughter and cheer, pata nehi kaha kho gaye humlog pichle kai saalo se….Raj apne papa se ashirwad lo aur Pinakin kal sabhi ko bulao, let them meet their new 'malkin'

Malkin toh aap hai Maji, Pinakin replied, but yes I have already organised a gathering, Chhoti Malkin se milne ayenge log….

While the lady gave a smile, Deep noticed Taruben's face became darkened…

Deep looked around the bedroom, seeing the dcor, mood lighting and the bed covered with flowers, her heart started beating fast, she is truly married and now has to share the room with her new husband….

Just then a voice said hoon jaanto chhu ke tu mari saathe naaraz chhe kemke dabaarn kari thi lagna maate, Deep turned to see Raj walking into the room…..Yes she does think he blackmailed her father to marry her, taken opportunity of his sickness, if not how will her family come up with the proposal without his consent….

Deep looked away, not knowing what to do she went towards the door which she guessed was bathroom….as she washed her face, she once again thought about the various excuses she wanted to place before him….

As she came out she found her husband standing outside the door…..

Thank god you came out, I thought you were planning to spend the night in there…

Wouldn't be such a bad idea, Deep replied, her first one to one dialogue with her husband…

What about my husbandly rights? He tried to look into her eyes…

Deep bowed her head and bit her lips…

Seeing her reluctance he lifted her chin with his finger…..

Look at me, he commanded, she lifted her eyes slowly….

See like you, this marriage is also a bit sudden for me, I was a confirmed bachelor and I know you were engaged to somebody else…..

Deep became stiff….

See Deep lets be friends, atleast lets try to work out our marriage in a positive note…..

Startled Deep looked up

Raj smiled….will you be my friend Deep?

With the chirping of birds woke Deep up, she opened her eyes to get her orientation back then got up opened the curtains…Her first day of her married life, the first thoughts crossed her mind….

I am really married? She questioned herself…..then a smile crossed her face, yes a friend, she has to become his friend and hopefully he will understand her actions later, maybe help her too, after all what is a friend for….
