Bandini Written Update January 29, 2009
Sukhs is busy today, so I m filling in again.
Santo's small mehendi ceremony is going on'she is happy. Mongi gets mehendi put on her hands as well and runs to the cow mother and shows her calf the henna on her hands. She asks them to put some on too, she is proud of it's red color. She is cute. Khemi looks at Santo and tells her that she is very happy today, Santo asks her if she is happy then why are there tears in her eyes. Khemi says that santo will leave her and go to her in-laws, Santo says that her in-laws' place is just three houses away, whenever Khemi misses her she should just come over. Khemi remembers the same conversation she had with Santo when she was going to get married instead. She smiles, genuinely happy for her sister.
Two villagers come to meet Nanaji (naanu) and nannu takes them inside the house. Santo sees that. One of the two villagers is a goldsmith and the other is a tailor. The goldsmith says that out of the money that u gave me I could only manage to make this one gold bracelet. Nannu is visibly upset. He said he wanted to give his Santo so many things ' clothes, jewelry, utensils. Santo is listening to all this and gets upset. The tailor tells nannu that if he gives Santo everything then what will remain for his other two granddaughters. Nannu says he will mortgage the house and will buy more stuff for Santo so that she won't have hear the bad, ill comments from her in-laws. Nannu asks the two gentlemen for their help, and they readily agree saying that Santo is their child too. Khemi also comes and hears the conversation and supports Santo.
The two villagers leave and then nannu calls the two sisters in. nannu shows Santo the clothes and the gold bracelet and tells her that's all that he can manage. Santo tells him that she will marry only on one condition, and that is if he lets her take the things she wants to. She takes the clothes and the gold bracelet out of the basket kinda thing and puts it on the side and goes to the cupboard and takes her clothes out and put them in that basket kinda thing. She then takes some shells out of the cupboard which would remind her of her sisters and the moments when they played with them. She then takes a doll out, that her dad had given her and he used to call her a doll, then she takes a comb out and says that's the comb her mom used to comb her hair with after oiling it and used to tie her hair with a ribbon. Khemi and Nannu are so sad. And then she takes out a necklace that her nannu had bought for her after she forced him by sitting on his shoulders when she was a little kid. Nannu is overwhelmed by her maturity and love for the family. He is speechless. Santo says that she wants to take all the memories that she spent with her family with her. That's all she needs. She hugs her naanu and nannu quietly cries. It was nice. Khemi cries look at them, tears of happiness'then nannu touches Khemi's face.
Next morning:
Santo is looking at her parents' picture as tears roll down her cheek. Khemi calls out to her and Santo quickly wipes her tears. Khemi comes to her and realizes that she was looking at their parents' picture'she says lets go it's time for the haldi rasam. Santo agrees
Mongi is running here and there asking everyone if everything's okay and if they need help like a daadi ma. Mongi is now upset she goes to Khemi who is writing Shubh-labh on the walls of the front door with red paint, I think. Then Mongi complains to khemi that no one lets her do anything'she too wants to help out with the wedding but no one is letting her. Khemi laughs, just then a kaaki (aunty) calls out to Mongi and tells her to do something so she doesn't feel left out, Mongi then asks too many questions to that aunty and irritates her. Aunty then runs behind her to get hold of her'hehe it was cute.
Nannu watches everyone put haldi on Santo'he goes into flashback'
Flashback: it's holi time and Santo puts lots of color on Nannu, and then Nannu says u have made me look like a Bandar (monkey) now'.u just wait, when u will get married, I will make u look like Bandar during ur haldi rasam.
Nannu comes out of the flashback and walks to Santo and puts some haldi on her cheeks. Santo asks him if she is looking like a Bandar now? Nannu says his santo is not looking like a Bandar but she is looking sunder (beautiful) like a fairy. He says I don't know why but after the haldi rasam, little fairies suddenly grow older. They are not little anymore. Nannu gets up and walks away'santo is feeling sad seeing her nannu sad. Then khemi puts halad on her and she smiles.
Next scene:
Dharam Raj is walking restlessly in his office and calls one of his inventory people and asks him how much more work is remaining, he is not happy and says by sunrise tomorrow he wants all the work done, Samjhigiyo ne? and asks that guy to send in Pinakin immediately. Just then DR's cell rings'it's Viraat Sanghvi. DR doesn't say a word, Viraat says that he knows DR doesn't have anything to say but he would like to share a good news with him- Viraat's company has got 80% of the work done and will have the whole thing done by tomorrow morning. Viraat asks DR as to much of his company's work is done? DR tells him that's none of his business, and Viraat laughs DR says he's still got the whole night and in one night Dharamraj Mahiyavanshi can get a lot of things done. Viraat says is that so? If that's the case then get as much work done as u can in one night'and besides ur sister-in-law, Surekha's well wishes are with you only'good luck. He hangs up.
Just then Pinakin enters the office and DR tells him that Viraat had called to tell him that his work is almost done. Pinakin says that even 90% of our work is done and that too with a lesser work force. DR tells Pinakin that Viraat is such a turtle that slowly but steadily can win the race, but he won't let him. He tells Pinakin that he will stay in the factory tonight and during sunrise itself the consignment should leave the factory. Ask all the workers and their family members to work tonight. Pinakin tells him that the workers won't be able to work for 2 hours tonight'DR is angry he asks him what's the problem now? Pinakin tells him about the wedding preparation of Madhav Solanki's granddaughters' wedding. DR is like what the hell? Just coz of the wedding his work won't be done? Tell all the workers that no one is gonna leave work and that's his order. Pinakin agrees.
Next scene:
Khemi is dressing up Santo as the bride'she is looking very cute and the background music is also nice'with the lyrics. Khemi tells her what a good daughter in law does- wake up early, eat whatever they have don't demand for spicy food, get done with the household chores immediately, don't give anyone a chance to complain. Santo just smiles. And then Khemi gives her a necklace she says its not of gold but it will suit my gold-like sister a lot. She asks Santo to mix up with her in-laws like sugar and milk. Khemi gets some money, she says that I know ur in-laws place is just 3 houses down but even if u wish to talk to us don't come here, take this money'right opposite ur house it's Kanti bhai's shop call me from there, and I will let Kanti bhai know that if Santo calls me, he should let me know. Santo cutely asks what if I want to see u guys? Khemi says if u have the urge to see us then just tolerate it, just remember from now on u are not the daughter of this house but the daughter-in-law of that house, ur life will change drastically after wedding'new relations will be formed, forget the mamta of the old relations. Santo starts to cry. Khemi tells her that if their mother would have been here, she would have said the same, but since she is not here, she had to tell her this. She asks santo to promise her that from now on she will never cry, Santo promises that she will never cry. Just then my mongi enters she has three small pots on her head, which is a part of the wedding rituals that she has to carry when the groom enters. She is practicing to balance them on her head'she starts singing a song in gujurati and goes round and round and just then the pots fall on the ground. Mongi is now angry she is like this is her 7th pot since morning that she broke. Santo and Khemi start laughing'Santo's laughter suddenly turns into tears'Khemi nods her head and wipes her tears'santo smiles'
I loved the last scene. Aasiya is doing a fab job now, and Khemi, Mongi were excellent right from the beginning. I loved the last scene, it was too touchy. The chemistry between the sisters is too real. I loved them. Beautiful episode once again'I wonder whether the consignment was done or not'HEhe'enjoy!!
