After the wonderful episode we were treated to yesterday, this was forced down our throats today.. Taruben goes to Santu and accuses her of stealing the earring.. Santu poor thing has no clue where the earring is and pleads her innocence.. Taruben does not listen to her and trashes the place in search of the missing earring. When she doesnot find it, she gives santu a last chance to own up.. And when santu still pleads innocence.. Taruben does the unthinkable.. She locks the door, pulls up a chair, asks her to strip.. I wouldn't have been surprised if she hit her, or worse comes to worse, branded her also, but this was the lowest of lows... And then, poor santu, falls at her feet, begging her to believe her.. But the evil hag doesn't relent.. She asks Champakali to take off Santu's clothes.. And picks up Santu's doll Ana and removes each garment off the doll.. simultaneously, we see Santu's clothes ceing taken off, her dupatta, then her lehnga and then her blouse.. It was a vicious scene.. Santu's whimpers and sobs echo round the stairs and the main entrance, and they show a lamp in the tulsi plant going off.. This was an extremely significant scene... Her sobs echoing and the lamp going off... After everything, Taruben goes upto Santu and says, that this was done behind closed doors.. If i dont get the earrings, it'll be in front of everybody... Poor Santu is too devastated to even react.. She's just sitting expressionless with tears flowing down her cheeks... This scene was brilliantly actyed out by Asiya, the pain, the humiliation was clearly etched out on her face... After TaruTerror leaves, Champakali covers Santu's head with the dupatta and runs away in tears..
