That is not exactly how I would think of it, Sanam ..

please dont think I am defending DM .. infact I announce that his behaviour was really not justified this time around .. it's just that it was the entire village's expectation matching up to his sense and 'standards' of meting out justice .. he just tried too hard .. and ending up failing miserably on his personal front!

He did not bother to clarify or even defend himself .. it was more like his way of letting DM know that he always messes up things when DM the father is concerned .. my 2 cents ..

I do agree sukhi.. he let the situation get out of hand.. His defiance and his arrogance led him to this.. But DM was also not completely without fault.. He let his son down and he's paying the price for it..
Its just when two people with so much of pride arrogance between them collide, heads will roll.. unfortunately the first one itself was Hiten..
At the end of the day, u cant blame either of them...They reacted without thinking properly and reacted based on emotional judgements... DM was too righteous and Hiten too proud...

Yes ..

Never am I going to say that there was no fault of DM's .. he was as much at fault as Hiten was ..

As they say,

When an unstoppable force meets an unmovable object, both come to an end ..

I agree whole heartedly with you - while I did not exactly HATE DM for what he did tonight, my feelings for him came very close .. He was too righteous for his own good .. and for his own Son's too .. he just forgot to draw the line .. the line between being a malik to the village and a Dad to his son ... the line was already blurred.. and today was just the last straw .. DM got entirely carried away and something tells me that he is going to regret this decision a LOT .. well some of the fault lies with Hiten as well ..

This was a situation where Hiten should have taken his ego out of the equation and protested against the decision or even better, tell the panchayat the truth that when he left the cow, it was still alive! There was no proof to show that Hiten killed the cow .. and Hiten could have stressed on that .. but alas- DM and Hiten are too much like one another !

Perfectly true sukhi...
DM will regret this decision.. And Hiten is at fault as well.. You can clap with one hand can you...
The main reason for this ego clash is just because they are so like one another...

it's okay Sukhi.. 😊 maza kaise aaye ga discussions pe if we all ended up with the same conclusions..
well, i just saw the episode again.. from the time Hiten enters and from the time he leaves.. well, i do not think that Hiten wanted it to go all wrong.. you could see the change in his expressions softened when DM asks Hiten whether what Mongi is saying is true or not.. and he says that yes, it is true but.. before he could finish the sentence, DM interrupts him.. why..??? i understand that the whole village starts chanting but that was after..
and then Hiten's shattered look.. so even today, Hiten ended up having the upper hand.. but you are right.. today, he tried too hard and failed miserably on that front..!! 😭😭😭

The smirk on Hiten's face just said it all .. and the tears that DM was hiding just broke my heart .. if only Hiten could bore into his father's eyes and really try to understand why his father always behaves the way he does .. if he could just try to understand the immense loneliness that his father is engulfed in .. if he could ever listen to any conversation that DM has with his late mother .. he'd change..

you know, i agree with both.. but i think the fault was more DM's than Hiten's.. and he is older and wiser... and perhaps the one with the bigger ego.. Hiten didn't even get a chance to defend himself.. so i blame DM more.. as Sukhi said, his sense of justice took over and he tried too hard and failed.. both as a father and in the justice department as well...! 😭😭

Yes Sanam,

As usual Hiten , ironically , even this time has ended up with an upper hand in this clash between father and son because eventually it will be found out that Hiten was not at fault and at that time, DM will be the most shattered man on the face of this planet ..

Basically,

DM has too many standards that e's constantly trying to match up to - evident from his reactions as he wlaked towards the chair of the Panch .. the standards set by his parents, the villagers, his reputation , his kids and mst importantly - the standards he has for himself .. sadly the threshold is too high this time!

Sanam, I've never been a big fan of monghi and today just decreases whatever little soft corner i'd had for her.. she's a little girl alright.. But her behavior hardly qualifies her as one.. I get the feeling nanaji and monghi are not yet done creating problems in santu's life..
Why i'm not liking what nanaji did was because DM literally gave up his entire life to make sure that HIS grand daughter would not be disgraced.. Agreed he had his own reasons for that, but the fact of the matter remains that he did.. The least nanaji could've done was go talk to him in private about it.. And dont get me started again on monghi.. she's too oversmart for her own good...

yes, but Sukhi.. he is too much like his father.. as you said.. so he is not the one who is going to take the initiative to talk to his father.. it would have to be DM, but as we all know, DM is way too proud to even explain it to Hiten..
the way his eyes filled with tears when he was announcing the punishment, and Hiten just smirked.. and finally the tears rolled down when Hiten walks off.. omg.. that was such a heartbreaking scene.. really moving.. 😭😭 fabulous performances by both Mrunal and RR.. 👏
