Shweta P Munshi on her various TV outings and more in
a chat with Ahmedabad Times.
It was a kind of homecoming for television actress
Shweta P Munshi, who was in town on a promotional
tour, sashaying around draped beautifully in a green
Paithani saree. Shweta, a Gujarati, raised in Indore took
some time out for her chat after her visit to the
Jagannathji temple. Excerpts:
You are making a comeback on TV. In between there was
speculation about you doing theatre...
Every person goes through different phases in life. Some
time back I was contemplating doing different things.
But now, I am back on the small screen, doing what I
love doing the most " a fiction show.

What is the challenge that you want to take up in
showbiz?
I want to grow as an actor and do substantial
characters. I am glad that new concepts on TV are liked
today. There are people coming up with doing different
shows. Acting is all about picking up all the emotions
that come your way. And what I love about my new show
Bandhan...Saari Umar Humein Sang Rehna Hai is that I
love the fact that I don't have a saas in the show.
So, are you not open to doing family dramas anymore?
My previous show had a saas in an important role. A
family drama has its own charm, because it weaves
around that one lady who is all set to make the bahu's
life miserable and then she tries to make her own way to
find her love and affection. Doing various types of
genres adds value to the growth of an actor.
How is Aditya Redij as a co-star?
I feel comfortable acting with Aditya Redij. He is a very
good human being, which is a prime criterion for
everyone in every profession. He is a good actor and
working with a good actor makes everything easy for
everyone. Your acting naturally gets better, because it's
all about action and reaction.
