Stupid decision on part of Colors - Page 2

The 6.30 pm slot is like a Hospice where terminally ill patients spend their last days... everyone knows that the show is soon going to die soon.

In stead of blaming the channel, you should be grateful that they considered giving the dying show some consolation by dumping it in the 6.30 pm slot, which it did not deserve actually... They were too kind to not slash the show straight away looking at its cheap quality.

It is about the impact the central character or the character which is supposed to be the main protagonist or the one which is supposed to be titular role has on the show.

The title role and face of the show was Anandi as long as she was part of the show and Nandini is now the titular character and face of the show.

Anandi and her story had a huge connect with the viewers and that was the reason why the makers/writers channel could use her story to keep the viewers hooked while they gave other stories like Mangala Kamili Akheraj etc etc. till the time they are ready to unite the mother daughter duo and have final show down between Akheraj and Anandi.They knew very well that once Akheraj and Anandi final fight is done nobody would be interested in Kahani Mangala ki or Kahani Kamili ki😛That's obviously the reason why they dragged the story of mother daughter reunion.

Does Nandini as the central character of the show has it in her to keep the viewers hooked like the way Anandi did?Answer is no.Nandini was never a lead material.She was at best a parallel lead.

Even now if anything is interesting in her story it is her connections with the past story that makes it interesting mainly her re union with her long lost twin and how Kundan will be tackled.Incidentally both are in a way connected with her mother and her fight against Akheraj.

How many viewers are actually interested in Nandini's lamhe pyar ki? At present Krish is a bit interesting only because of his connection with Kundan.

Only Kundan and Shivam are interesting that too because of their connection with the past story of Balika Vadhu of which one is Anandi's much loved son and the other one is Anandi's unwanted JamaiSa.Sad state of affairs😛

The revamped Balika Vadhu does deserve this kind of degradation but also it is sad to see the show which changed the history of Indian Television being brought to this stage🤢

So no, Anandi Nandini reunion was not the reason why I was hooked onto the show. I came back to see Mangala who was making a much impactful character as N's mother and as a woman who was fighting against all odds of her life, created by society.

For many, Anandi Nandini reunion was not the reason to watch the show. People were already piting the fate Shiv's kids was given by their good for nothing mother. The so called protagonist was nothing more than a piece of furniture who lived the most hypocritic life.

Characters like Dsa, Jagya Mangala made the show atleast tolerable. Anandi was useless back then and Nandini is useless now. Anandi's story was over the day she whole heartedly accepted Shiv. After that she was no longer the reason why people watched BV.

If those characters were so impactful why did that story collapse after Nandini has been removed from Jhalra?

Why was there no interest in Mangala's story per se?If Mangala had been so interesting why did her story minus Nandini collapse like a pack of cards? Fact is that she was interesting only for the impact that she could make in Anandi's life through her attachment with Anandi's daughter. Nobody would have shown interest in Mangala's story or N's story had N been real daughter of Mangala or if N had not been the daughter of Anandi.Mangala and N would have been merely some projects of Anandi if N had not been Anandi's daughter.

The very fact that the writers and the channel had to ride on Anandi Nandini reunion to showcase the kahanis of Mangala Kamili Harki and Akhi itself tells how difficult it is to find viewers for these kind of stories. These stories found viewers because of the connectivity that Anandi had with viewers.

Does Nandini have that kind of connectivity with viewers which allow the makers /channel to introduce Jhalra kind of stories through her story?

But Mangala being a side character had her own impact regardless of Anandi or Nandini. I remember those days when I simply used to watch Mangala's story, her struggles and her efforts to handle her life, while fast forwarding all of Anandi's scenes. That cry baby called Anandi was downright boring to watch.

Neither was the reunion interesting. Who wants to watch a story of a spineless mother who lets her son abuse her daughter and all she can do is cry but not reveal one fact?

Even in her negative avataar M was far interesting. But Mangala's story eventually had to be subsided because she overshone Anandi.

Without M and Jharla, Anandi's presence was not even worth it. And frankly even after Mangala, Anandi's presence was not worth it.

Both Anandi and her daughter were / are useless as protagonists.

This is the woman who closed her ears to the shrieks of a young girl who was being raped night after night in the next room outshone the lead that too a lead who is supposedly useless but nevertheless sprang to the rescue of any person in distress?

Lols a woman who thought as long as the girl is with her she could leave the world to it's fate outshone the lead that too a lead with all her impractical ways fought to make the world a better place?

The so called weak and useless lead never thought of her weaknesses or inadequacies when it came to reaching out to people in distress.The so called strong side character was the one who had the habit of thinking what she might gain or lose by helping someone.

There is a good reason why some people predicted that Mangala would stoop to conquer.It's another matter that Mangala's behaviour was even worse than what was predicted 😛

So the question of a side character outshining the lead which was around for more than seven years does not arise at all.

Anandi whether her life is a cup of joy or full of grief and sorrows she remained the same.It is the likes of Mangala whose behaviour changes according to the state of their life 😛

It takes a lot to cling on to the values one believes in even if their cup of life is filled with grief and sorrows.That's what strength of a character is all about.

Character's strength is not just accomplishments but it is about withstanding the adversities and bearing losses with equal grace as receiving blessings that life brings in.

Nandini when she was in Akheraj's house she was great because she didn't allow the negativity cloud her judgement.Shivam now looks impressive because he didn't allow negativity to swamp him and he clings on to the values that were givento him by his mother.His mother may have died but she ensured that her son never left the values she has given him.Nandini values her mother's contribution to her life and if she hasany complaints about her mother it is about the too little time she had with her mother.Both children carry with them the values given by their mother and that's where Anandi's success as a parent lies. The material wealth and the family she gave her children may have been made unavailable to her kids but the values she had given them are their constant companions.

At the end it is how people want to look at things from what was shown. Not about supporting characters and makers.

If one watched the show and the character Anandi for more than seven years they wouldn't have any doubts about Anandi whether she had done enough to find her daughter or not.

The characters are owned by the writers and it is their right to tell the story they wish to tell just like it is my right to watch the show or read the book or not to watch the show .I may not have liked the direction the story had taken but it is what they want to tell.

Chalo that's okay too, if that helps some viewers to feel good about their favourite character.

But what surprises me, is that If Anandi was such a strong lead and had a huge impact, then does she really need to be defended by under-rating a side character like Mangala? Can Anandi's achievements not stand on their own, without under-rating anyone else? 😛

The point is quite clear. By making Anandi's story so weak, CVs were already weakening their own show. However the show sailed through because of other good characters, plus loyal viewers' hoped that someday everything will make sense and the show will become worth watching.

Now when that did not happen, but instead, writers chose to stoop even further low my making M negative, drag MNA, let Akheraj win and give a horrible end to DSa, M, A, and J; then viewers lost all their faith and trust in makers. So much that now that don't want to support any crap called Nandini and her Lamhe Pyar ke.

BV as a show is responsible for it's own fate. No wonder they created a dumb central character called Anandi

Anandi and Shiv are strong positive characters which are virtuous they cannot be made negative and problems come into their life only through negative characters or because some misjudgement of a situation on their part.So they used Anandi misjudging a situation to get Nandini kidnapped and used her sense of empathy towards Mangala to drag the story.Anandi has been shown to have empathy even towards people whose interests caused a lot of damage to her life be it Dsa,J G or Mangala. So what was Anandi doing so different with Mangala that she didn't do before? She took a long time and needed lot of proofs against Sanchi before pointing a finger at her.She needed concrete evidence against Mangala before taking action against her.That is Anandi she would take a long time before pointing a finger at a person and pronouncing him/her as wrong.Her decision to keep the secret from Shivam may be impractical and foolish but was her decision to trust Mangala's love for the child above what everyone including Dsa and Anant said was wrong? No.

She may have failed at locating her daughter but did she give up the hope of finding her and did she give up her search for her daughter no? Failing to find her daughter even after searching for eleven years make her a failure as a mother?If that is the case so many parents don't manage to find their missing children does that mean all those parents are failed as parents?

Some characters are like Mangala are grey shaded to begin with they were made negative to take the story forward.Gauri was supposed to be Gudiya. Gudiya had a lot of resentment towards BS and Sumi for rejecting her. That was exaggerated to make way for drama. Gauri's mother was someone as bad as DB or even worse than DB.

J was essentially a good person who was good at heart through out even when he turned grey.Did we have doubts about J reforming himself and changing his ways?Even after he learnt to value the right things in life he did remain impulsive and quick to act which landed him in sticky situations.

Shiv was an instinctive feminist and always stood up for women without judging the situation or judging those women and that landed him in trouble with his sister as well as Rasika at times with his temperamental mother Ira.

Bhairon Singh was the wisest character in the entire BV.But the respect he had towards his mother always pulled him down.His bowing down to his mother's wishes was the biggest flaw in his character

Dsa was a strong woman but she became very weak and clingy when it came to her ladesar and her chidakali a weakness which she fought against till the day she died and one more thing Dsa remained a bully and manipulative cunning woman even after she embraced Anandi's brand of idealism. She used her negative traits to do good fro her family and society.

So all of them whether they are leads or supporting characters positive or negative they all came with inbuilt flaws which were exaggerated at times to move the story forward. So no character had been twisted unnecessarily.

These are the reasons why the story and the characters worked despite some flaws.None of the characters looked like cardboard cutouts.They evoked real emotions like real people do.That is the reason why people either get angry with Anandi or get angry for her or they felt happy for her wished happiness in her life. Because Anandi comes across not as a lead in a story but as person close to reality. Whether we liked the story or not is another issue.

Do any of the characters in the current show come across so real as to evoke emotions in the viewers minds?

There is a difference between misjudging the situation and choosing to be foolish, blind folded and clumsy thereby inviting troubles / disasters. Which is what Anandi did.

So I would never support such hopeless protagonists or watch a show because of them. I watched the show for many other reasons but Anandi. However, with LPK, none of the other reasons exist for me to watch, so BV is completely off for me.
