I mentioned the real life case - only to tell that there is no way Mangala can be punished for what she did - saved a child and cared for her for all these years. Even the courts acknowledge the contribution of someone in the child's life - even though biological parents are alive.
Mangala was never selfish in whatever she did - neither she is now. The reaction is due to sudden turn of events. Let us see why she did what she did - even though she seemed to be preparing for a final goodbye.
