In an earlier scene when Anandi had said some harsh words to Sumitra for letting Ganga leave the house with Mannu and asked what if any such situation befell upon here, she stopped her instantly asking her not to compare herself with Ganga.
But she conveniently forgot a similar case in her own family.
As much as everyone has always compared Ganga to Anandi, I find more reasons to compare her with Sugna.
Both have had a broken marriage, divorce for Ganga and husband's death for Sugna.
Both got termed as rejected pieces each time by the world, Sugna for being inauspicious for Pratap's life causing his death by her ex-in-laws and Sumitra terming Ganga as responsible for her awful relationship with Ratan Singh.
A new guy entered lives of both as a helping hand and moved on to fall in love with them later but not without oppositions from their families.
Last but not the least, both brought in kids from their first marriage who were the last thing possible to get accepted at their new home.
I am quite amazed at Sumitra and family for considering Ganga as some cheap trash unfit for Jagdish when they have had their own daughter go though such circumstances and never did demand an explanation or complain when Shyam went against his own family to have Sugna in his life.
I hope CVs show up a track with Sugna's re-entry and we have a scene where Sumitra is lashing out at Ganga pointing out her so called "defects" and Sugna retaliates giving an earful to her.
