Chapter: 4 – Dik Kya Kare

Place: Collector Office:

Shiv walked into his office. Politely he asked Anandi to take her seat. After Anandi sat, she took out the Dabba and gave it to Shiv.

Shiv: 'Yeh kya hai'? (What is this)

Anandi with smile said; 'DadiSa ne aapke liye khana bheja hai'. (Granny sent food for you).

Shiv got very happy thinking; ' Toh mera anumaan sahi thaa, Dadiji mere saath hain, waah ab mujhe Anandi ko patane mein dadiji ki help mil jayegi' then all of a sudden he realized that he is sitting in the office. He said making stern face; 'Aate hee rishwat'. (Started Bribing me right after I came).

Shiv was being happy thinking that Anandi must have got good impression about me that I am very professional but truth was just opposite.

Anandi felt very insulted. She said; 'Pyar aur rishwat mein farq hota hai' saying this she tried to take the dabba back but Shiv grabbed it before her and kept it on other table because other people(Panch) arrived for meeting.

Meeting went on for hours. Shiv and Anandi had little hot discussion about the Routing of the canal. Finally Anandi asked Shiv to come with her, she will show him the reason and benefits of changing the Canal's Route. After seeing the reason which Anandi showed him, he decided to change the route of the canal. Shiv enjoyed the ride with Anandi. Anandi looked little impressed when he helped a man with Bull cart but he knew this is not enough to impress her. He could see that she was very upset with him. He offered Anandi to drop home but she refused saying; 'meri jeep aapke office ke bahar hee hai, Waise thank you jo aapne poochha'.

They came back to the office and Anandi left. Shiv started talking to himself, ever since he fell for Anandi he developed this habit of self-talking. Shiv was very upset with his own behavior. He thought about Anandi, how beautiful she was looking today in red traditional dress. Why did he argue with her for Canal's Routing?? What was the need?? She knows this place better than me and what happened?? End result was what?? I agreed to change the Route of Canal through Gopalpura then why did I spoil her mood??? Then again Shiv almost jumps on his chair thinking….wait…. it was not bad at all, in fact it was very fruitful for me because I spent whole day with Anandi. She was not happy, so what?? At least we were travelling in the same jeep to the Canal site. He said to himself; 'Shiv yara pyar mein toh log sari umar inrzar kartein hain ki ek baar dilbar ki nazar-e-inaayat hum par bhi ho jaye, aur mujhe toh sara din mere khwabon ki shahzaadi ke sath bitane ka saubhagya mila, phir complain kyon kar raha hoon?? Nahee nahee bas !! koi shikayat nahee balki mujhe toh Bhagwaan ko shukriya kehna chahiye aur Pray bhi karna chahiye ki roz aise hee Anandi ka Saath milta rahe. Mana ki abhi who nujhse naraz hain par har pyar ki shuruwaat takrar se hee hoti hai. Main unhe mana loonga, waise jab woh (Anandi) naraz hoti hain toh aur bhi pyari lagti hain. Mujhe aur bhi pyar aata hai un pe, Shiv smiled, he was having that sweet pain again…..He remembered a song his mom used to listen which was perfect for his current state of mind…song…"Pyar ka dard hai meetha, meetha, pyara, pyara"…

Shiv thanked god and started making plan to meet Anandi every day, starting tomorrow. He planned official tour (day trip) with Anandi. He knew that she can't refuse going out with him because she is the Sarpanch of the village turned District. Shiv took a deep breath and sighed with relief then smiled.

Place: Badi Haveli;

Kalyani Devi was eagerly waiting for Anandi. She was walking in living room while waiting.. Looking at the door again and again…..

Sumitra asked Kalyani Devi to relax; 'MaaSa aap baith jayeeye, Anandi aa jayegi'.

Before Kalyani Devi could reply, Anandi entered in Haveli and walk towards the stairs to go to her room.

Sumitra Said to Anandi; 'Lado bhookh lagi hogi'.

Gehnaalso said; 'Anandi ja jaldi se haath pair dho ke aa ja, main khana lagaati hoon'.

Kalyani devi asked both bahus in little loud voice; 'Ari abchup bhi rahegi ya bolti hee jayegi? Jaa jake khana laga chhori ke liye'.

Both bahus left to do so.

Kalyani Devi; 'Chhori, tune Shiv ko apne hathon se khana parosa na? ke bola shiv? Usko khana achcha toh laga hoga, ke bola Shiv? Arii bol na'.

Anandi with anger in her voice said; ' Khana dekhte tab na? waise achcha hua nahee dekha warna pata nahee aur kya kya sunate mujhe'.

DadiSa; 'ke huaa chhori ? achcha adami na hai ki? Thare sang kuchch galat bola'?

Anandi; 'Nahee aisi baat nahee hai, bas bahut ziddi hain'.

Anandi went up to her room,

Kalyani Devi started thinking that before taking next step, I should meet Shiv and find out his nature. Thinking about her next step Kalyani Devi walked out.

After an hour Kalyani Devi came back, she started calling Sumitra, Gehna and Anandi with joyous voice.

All three came running downstairs and looked at Kalyani Devi with question on their face and asked:'ji'?.

Kalyani Devi was very happy, she answered giving them order; 'Sunn aaj raat ke khane mein …….'.

She gave them dinner menu.

Basant and Bhairon entered the house. They heard MaaSa talking about special dinner menu.

Bhairon asked his mother; 'MaaSa yeh sab? Koi raat ke khane par aa raha hai'?

Basant also asked; 'kaun aa raha hai MaaSa'?

Kalyani Devi yelled at them; 'Tum logan ko toh sirf sawaal poochna aave hai, Aur toh kuchch karoge na'.

Basant; 'Who MaaSa hum toh bas yunhi ….'.

Kalyani Devi raised her voice by cutting Basant: 'bas chup. Jo main boloongi wohi hoga ab se''.

Bhairon and Basant both shook their head saying yes.

Then Kalyani Devi said in victory ton (as if she won the battle): 'Aaj Raat ko humare ghar Shivji aavenge khaane par.

Bhairon asked with confused tone; ' kya?? Humare ghar Bhagwaan Shiv aa rahe hain??

Everyone smiled hiding from Kalyani Devi.

Bhairon asked again; 'MaaSa kaheen aapne Collector ko toh nahee bulaya hai'??

MaaSa; 'Haan wohi Collector ko bulayo hai aur who khushi khushi aane ko raji bhi ho gaya hai'.

Anandi; 'DadiSa aapko aisa nahee karna chahiye, unko yeh saboasand nahee hai, wo...'.

DadiSa Stop Anandi and said; 'Tu abhi tak subah ki baat ko le kar baithi hai? Arey tab usko bahut kaam hogo, je waste who khane par dhyan na de payo. Ab jo avego tih dekhana kitne chaov se khavego aur dekhana parsansa bhi kare go thaare khane ka. Ab jaa Meethe mein Halwa zaroor banaiyo aur matar bhoole se bhi kisi khane mein mat dalna. An jaa rasoi mein, samay bahut kan hai.

Sumitra. Gehna and Anandi walked towards Kitchen and Basant and Bhairon went upstairs.

Kaltani Devi smiled and patted herself saying; 'Kalyani Devi aap bahut samart dokri ho'.

Place: Circuit House

Shiv was very happy that Dadiji invited him for dinner. Entire evening with Anandi, wow he still can't believe that things were moving according to his wish. Now he has to get ready for the dinner. He lay down on the bed and started planning that how he will behave this time. He heard a sound of an old Hindi movie song; Dil kya kare jab kisi ko, kisi se pyar ho jaye…..'. Sound was coming from outside but Shiv started dreaming …that he is singing this song for Anandi and Anandi was giving him shy smile.. Shiv closed his eyes and….

Next Chapter will have a romantic dream sequence which Shiv will have…..😳
