First of all kudos to you dear for bringing out such a sensible post...u really deserve an applause! Coming to the topic,I totally agree with each and every word u said.You probably took me to an emotional roller-coaster when u described all those scenes...indeed with the replacement...a paradise has been lost *sigh*

Coming to the 'connection' issue well i think the channel since day one has not planned the replacement in an audience friendly way. First of all they didnt audition her with the cast and nor did they give enough time to the cast to interact with her.Sid himself said he had no information about the change.And same was claimed by shashank, sriti and rest of the cast.So basically no of the cast and crew had any formal interaction with her that they could give her some important tips. Next, they never thought of bringing a replacement that in someway is similar to Pratyusha in physical appearence.Here I am not refering or comparing the looks of the two actresses but just saying that bringing in someone who is somewhat same in appearance to the previous actor helps a lot to connect.Just like Gautami kapoor despite being a brilliant artist was not accepted by people.Her overall look and feel was totally opposite to smriti irani.While smriti is on the heavier side...Gautami is extremely extremely lean.Ofcourse it was a major mismatch coz as its rightly said,"You first taste the meal with ur eyes". Same is here.Toral's personality is more on the tough side...a total opposite to Pratyusha who is petite.Believe me it was a major disconnect.Many ppl may claim that comparing looks is wrong but if u see carefully then the difference in looks does matter a lot, bcoz to match P's lenient and polite look,T has to underplay a lot and that makes her expressions seem artificial.

After going so much wrong...there next wrong step was that they didnt explain to Toral the depth of Anandi's emotions.For P it was natural bcoz she herself saw and felt Anandi bearing all that pain.The makers shud have understood its not natural for Toral.She needs to be explained and made to feel.But they were so busy in promoting her that they forgot abt the important things.

And the end-result is that every1 on the show seemed clueless.I havent watched since past two weeks but what all I could see in the first two weeks was enough for me to disconnect.Coz probably the rest of the characters I knew from so many years were just being in place while one person was out of place and so it seemed as if every1 is just acting and fooling around and it was a major let down.So much that I lost all inspiration to feel connected.

Agree with you Aparna,

Sometimes I am able to connect to her and most times Not. And I agree with the TM as well.

She has not sinked into the character hence there is no chemistry between her and other actors. It feels like they are all acting, but I can't feel their emotions.

I don't feel great about watching AnSh romance or her letting down J or her leaving Jiatser. It's just like watching the story progress, but not with emotions.

I agree with what Aparna that makers need to put in lot more efforts. They also need to connect Toral to Prat's Anandi. They can't just talk about childhood memories, they need to talk about her achievements post leap as well.

And I agree, her smile always does not convey the right emotions.

The problem is the actor herself has not connected to Anandi.She has not really gotten into the skin of the character and has not managed to grasp the essence of her.That's why she is trying hard.

To understand the character you need time and I don't think she was given enough time to understand and get to know the character and get the feel of it.It looks like as soon as she was selected she started shooting.

And at times like this the writers have to do a lot of work to make the scenes convincing enough for the new actor to portray.

When ever the scene was written well she herself manages to connect with Anandi and we also are able to connect to her,

The bottom line is CVs need to work hard to make the actress connect with Anadi then only we will be able to connect to her.Because they cannot use the old scenes as FBs to convey her feelings and so on so forth to make her connect with the other characters in the story.

Right now it is the CVs job to connect the actress to Anandi first then only she will be able to convince us that she is Anandi.

Until then we will find it difficult to connect with her.

I agree with you that cvs have also not been able to come up with good tracks. Story is just loitering from one dinner to another celebration. They are so focused on food first Ganga got commended for cooking skills, now anandi, i am waiting for saanchi to jump in the Frey.

It was difficult for me at first...but seeing this new girl's efforts to be Anandi...and looking at the way she is improving day by day, i started liking her!

@bold - I'am sorry if this is showing my courage and strong heart to you...it is not. I just invest my emotions wisely..and definitely not in actors that represent characters in daily soaps..so i guess that was why it was easier for me.

Asru, just like you even I realised that Prats has moved on and Toral is in, hence I should move on too and I did.

But what is being presented in show currently is no match to the quality of the show we have been seeing.

I can't perfectly gauge what is the let down; Toral, story, directors or a combination of all, but definitely something is missing, something is a let down.

r in hospital when anandi tripped and shiv held on to her , and jagia watched anandi in shiv's arm, I felt so happy that finally jagia is getting what he deseves...lekin ab I feel nothing like that .. like when today or on Saturday jagiya got jealous seeing ansh together or romancing, I didn't feel the same way that I used to feel when I saw jagiya in pain.. infact mujhe pata nahi kyun jagiya par hi taras aya and honestly aisa pehli baar hua hai that I felt bad for jagiya'

ya phir when sumitra anandi convo was going on today, and ananadi hugged sumi, I didn't feel any emotions attached to that'I could nt felt like the way I felt during sumitra- anandi convo the night before wedding of ansh'it was such an emotional convo I don't know why but today it seemed so forced '

even when pratyusha entered bv mujhe tab bhi koi disconnection nahi feel hua tha in the character of anandi.. anandi mujhe kabhi bhi alag nahi lagi ..and whenever some flashbacks of choti anandi was shown I always could relate to it and never felt ki ye sab kuch avika ki anandi ne kiya hai ya pratyusha ki anandi ne.. both were inseparable for me'but somehow toral's anandi seems totally disconnected' I don't know if it is the mistake of director, writers but they really need to work hard to make people connect to new anandi'

these are just few examples I quoted.. as for other scenes in red above that I wanted , I don't think ki I could ever be able to watch it kyunki now it feels ki its just the act and all the actors are just doing their job , there is no realism or emotional aspect to it'so for me balika vadhu doesn't exist anymore'

just shrugging shyness is not acting dephtness is missing now so no need to watch anymore

Very true actor is responsible for her/his character. I was attached to anandi becasue I watched this after prats entered
and emotionally connected to her more when she portrayed different phases of Anandi(A)
when:
1. A motivated J for his future studies
2. A's broke down after J insulted her in Mumbai
3. A's connection with phuli, gulli and asha
4. A fell sick and she believed that J will not come for her when other family members trying to bring him.
5. How can I forget the moment when J told her that- mein tujhse pyar nahi karta anandi.
6. A gave back J during divorce and her mother's death

and many more but cant put everything

Last but not the least Ansh first scene and lovestory.
