Hey guys! So this is a special segment to the fan fiction with a bunch of dedications. And to clear up a misconception – I usually have a line in my head which isn't developed until I start writing. So if something doesn't make sense it's probably because I didn't think the plot all the way through. For this I apologize and I hope you guys PM me to fix it! Also for anyone who does want the translations of the few parts in Hindi that I do have, feel free to PM me! I'm also a newbie so I can't really PM everyone a lot (I'm limited to like 10 a day) but I love hearing feedback, whether it's just hitting a like button or a comment! I love reading what you guys have to say!

So here goes:

1. For my baby, who was born on January 14, 2000, my little sister, who will one day fly higher than any kite ever known

2. For my grandmother. Today I spoke to her on the phone and she was flying a kite while my grandfather held her firki (spool of string used to fly the kite)

Recap: Shiv had asked permission to court his wife and A had agreed.

She had been kidnapped. She couldn't believe the same Shiv that she knew for so long had literally kidnapped her! She sat there shivering, drenched in a barn. It was lifeless, filled with hay and swaying slightly under the harsh winds outside. Her heart went out to her husband. How must he be getting along outside in this whether? "Well then again it is his fault that we are in this situation." She thought.

Shiv entered the barn with what seemed to be a backpack from the trunk of their jeep. He started rummaging through it and soon there was a spark and a small fire. He made it bigger into a roaring flame using the hay in the barn. He was drenched as well. She looked at him from across the barn. His white Shirt was completely soaked and she could see through it. His drenched locks. She saw a drop of water escape a strand of his hair and land on his damp cheek. She was tempted to go to him and clean it off his face.

He saw her across the flames in her red silk saree. Plain and simply worn with her pallu tossed over her shoulder. She was soaking wet. Her hair was wet and it curled around her neck sticking to her body. He smiled looking down noticing that pretty much everything was sticking to her body. That sari was like her second skin. Drops of water ran down her arms and legs; for a moment he found himself wishing that he could change places with the drops of water.

She looked at her husband, from across the room and was suddenly aware of her surroundings. For some reason there was urgency in seizing the moment, she was ready. But at the same time she was shocked! How had he crept up in her heart?

She thought back exactly one month ago when they had their first…

January 14 (one month ago)

Utraang. A woke up with a smile on her face the next day, this was her favorite holiday. She turned around to face her husband who was sleeping with the blanket over his head and on his stomach. "He may be big and strong, but he sleeps like a little kid." She thought. Yesterday was the first night the two of them had spent without a veil separating them. Nothing had happened; S knew that A wasn't ready to be with him physically just yet. So he gave her the space that she needed and had kept to his side of the bed. He seemed to be genuinely tired. So A didn't think of waking him up.

She quickly got out of bed and went to the bathroom to take a shower. She chose a white sari as she knew it was Dadu's favorite color. Her in laws should be arriving soon she thought as she dried her hair in her towel walking out of the bathroom. She still found shiv lying face down on the bed but this time sprawled diagonally that way no one else could even sit on the bed. She smiled and quietly got ready and shut the door.

There stood Mahi bhaiya in the Kitchen, smiling.

M: "good morning dear bhabhi!"

A: "good morning! How was dinner last night at your friend's house?"

M: "It was okay. The food wasn't as good."

A: "why what was wrong with it?

M: "well…you know how my friends are health conscious right? They had food without salt or sugar. It was kind of bland. That's why I was hoping that maybe you can cook something up for me?"

A: "I knew it. It's always food with you two brothers I swear. Now stand over there while I make breakfast. Then you are going to help me make ladoos and lunch. Everyone will be here in a couple of hours!"

M: "What?! Come on! I don't want to do all this work by myself. Where's bhaiya?"

M turns around to go towards AnSh's room but is stopped by A.

A: Don't you dare! He is sleeping. He's really tired from yesterday's fiasco at the work site and I don't want him to be cranky today.

M: okay mata! Where do we start?

That day both M and A worked in harmony. Joking, laughing, and goofing around to accomplish all the chores that A had to do. They ate their breakfast and got to work. They prepared lunch, and made laddoos, rolling each one to perfection. They even picked up the giant pack of kites that Bheem Singh had come to deliver to them around 10am. After completing all their chores A and M sat on the swing again with all the carpet swatches and paint samples to work on decorating the room.

A horn beeped at the gate of the CH making A rush to open the gates, everyone had finally arrived. Dadu, Alok, Ira, and CM all spilled out of the car and A and M took turns greeting everyone. They all started talking nosily and walked into the house.

Alok: Hey, where's S? he didn't go to work today did he? Why didn't you stop him Anandi?

A: No hes…

Just then the room of A and S's door flew open with a bang.

S stood there with his eyes closed.

S: what is all this noise? Anandi!

A tried to reply back and tell him to open his eyes but M kept a hand on her mouth and signaled everyone to be quite and winked.

M: She left bhaiya. Just me and you today.

S was still groggy so he rubbed his eyes and muttered, "she'll never leave me you idiot. She loves me way too much. Now go and get her – I need to see her immediately. She knows I cant function in the morning without her."

At this point A started blushing profously. She wished that S would just open his eyes!

M: yeah right. But I guess you don't love her enough to even wake up and help her with the chores. I had to do that for you!

S: shut up. You very well know that I do more than half the house work. May have studied in London but I still know how to help my wife sweep the…

S had finally stopped rubbing his eyes to open them and was shocked at the scene in front of him. Everyone was trying to stifle their laughter and a wide eyed A stood in front of M who still had his hand over her mouth but was roaring with laughter.

The family rolled around and laughed and laughed.

S: go ahead, laugh it up. But I keep her happy. If I didn't you'd all find my head on the porch next day! All of jaister would decapitate me in a heartbeat the minute her highness cries.

A: when did I say to help me…?

Ira: what was the point of you going to London to study if you were just going to end up being a house wife beta?

The family laughed even more at this.

Dadu: Okay enough, leave my jawaan alone!

CM: yes, lets go up to the roof! And let the festival begin!

A: you all go and I'll serve shiv breakfast and come.

S left in the room to take a shower and the rest of the family headed upstairs towards the roof of the house. A tucked in her pallu in the front of her lengha and got to work. A was in the kitchen preparing tea for her husband when suddenly a pair of arms locked her in her place. As if on cue her heart decided to get lazy and skip a couple of beats. She instantly knew the man who was holding her captive…

A: what are you doing? Someone will see…

S: Let them see…

A: what will they think.

S said turning her around, "they will think that their jawaan is a smart man. They will realize that their son does chores and house work because in return he gets to spend time flirting with a wife like you."

A: flirting…?

S: Uhm, what do they call it? Line mar na.

A let out a giggle and pouted. She opened her mouth to tell shiv to let her get back to her work when words failed her – she had just realized how close S was to her. However, this time her heart no longer lost control. She had composure. She had finally gotten used to their proximity.

S sensed that his wife was no longer uncomfortable with him around; she wasn't fidgeting but returning his intense gaze. "Time to have a little fun then." He thought. He leaned in closer, holding her face in both his hands.

She wasn't prepared for this, what was he doing?! "HERE?! What if someone saw us? They would think that I'm a….that I'm a…" he mind could no longer form a train of through as he was inching closer and closer. She could count the eyelashes on his eyes, she slowly let her eyes close as her breathing became uneasy. She tilted her head slightly to the right as did shiv. She parted her lips lightly…

She felt his breath on her lips….

….her heart skipped a beat again…

…They were millimeters away….

She felt something warm on her hands. It soon became hotter, she snapped back as to what was going on…

A: "NAHI!"

S jumped back alarmed. "what happened?"

A: My tea spilled out. See what you made me do?

A closed the gas and took the tea off of the stove and poured it into the glass. She handed it to shiv who was busy admiring his wife while leaning handsomely from the door frame of the kitchen. He gulped down his tea and walked over to his wife who was arranging all the ladoos her and M had made that morning on a huge plate. He stood behind her paused for the sound of his wife's pulse rising.

*Moraliaa tune esa kya lagaa* (their song starts playing)

He brushed aside her hair from her neck. He inched his hand towards her tucked pallu. His hand made contact with her stomach and it sent pulses all over A's body. His touch invigorated her. He put his hand flat on her stomach and then proceeded to curl it, forming a fist, letting his touch linger on her waist, her belly button. His fist came to a clench at her pallu and grabbed it. He un-tucked her pallu and whispered into her neck, "you look better this way."

She shyly walked away holding the big plate with the ladoos arranged in the shape of a circling pyramid, wobbling under its weight. She went to put on her slippers at the base of the stairs that would lead her to the roof but was struggling to see where her feet were going. Just then she heard a whisper on her bare neck again, "hold on…"

(Their song continues – mare hiwade mein jagi dokari)

She grabbed the plate just in time to realize that shiv had scooped her up in his arms and was carrying her up the stairs to the roof. They had an eye lock that didn't break the entire time he carried her upstairs. She looked down eventually unable to meet the intensity of his gaze. She couldn't help but admire how strong he was, as he had just picked her up like a rag doll. After what seemed like an eternity of staris the couple finally reached the roof. Shiv walked over to the food table and placed A on it!

Just when A thought that S was about to leave he leaned in again…looking as if he was going to finish what he couldn't in the kitchen. But he stopped short to gaze into his wife's fearful eyes, grabbed a ladoo and walked away.

A smiled and hit herself on the head lightly with her hand. She called herself a sacred cat and turned to set the ladoos on the table.

(their song ends)

S: Okay Mahi get a kite ready for A, mama you, CM and A will have the contest today!

A: what?! No I couldn't!

Dadu: beta it is out family tradition that the women usually face off in kite battle while the men hold their firkis!

A: but it's fine let ma aur CM do it, ill just watch.

M: Nothing doing bhabhi! Today I want to see my lion of a brother become the ultimate sissy and hold someone's firki. Please don't spoil my fun!

Shiv put mahi in a head lock – this time he had gone to far but quickly released him after the look on Dadu's face

A was dragged into the kite competition where the three women would try and cut the other two's kites in the air. M had picked out special thread that was very raw and ideal for the competition – it would cut the opponent's kite with ease. While Ira and CM had trouble getting their kite up in the air, A had no trouble getting her's up. Within a minute she eliminated CM.

A: YIPPEEE!! SORRY CHOTI MA! BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME! SHIV, HOLD THE FIRKI MORE LOOSE I NEED SOME MORE THREAD!

S had never seen his wife act like this before! It was as if she was a kid. The rest of the family saw a change in her behavior as well. The next few moments everything happened so quick that it left everyone breathless.

A went to tug on the string with both her hand and screamed in pain. In a split second her white sari was covered in blood as was shiv's shirt. The rawness of the string had managed to cut her hands and leave 2 deep gashes on both her palms. Shiv thought quickly and grabbed her pallu and tore off a sizable chunk which he wrapped around one of her palms. He again tore off another chunk and wrapped it around her other palm.

A was looking down and through the pain she realized droplets of water on her new bandages. She looked up and saw her husband's sweat drip down as he worked profusely over her wounds...

*Shiv's theme song starts playing – I don't know what to call it but the instrumental bit that starts with heh ehhh ehh… and continues with the flute*

Suddenly she was in his arms again and being carried down stairs again. This time however she had continued to stare at shiv out of genuine curiosity while he was staring ahead, running down the stairs in a hurry, determined in his task to stop her bleeding.

Somewhere in the back of her mind she registered that Shiv had asked Mahi to get the first aid kit and sent choti ma in the kitchen for some turmeric (hardar.) All she could do was stare at her husband and gaze in amazement. How had he picked up on her desi remedies for a cut? She hadn't once told him that turmeric would stop the bleeding but somehow he knew. He was right. He knew so much about her but she knew barely anything. Shiv applied pressure on her palms to stop the bleeding.

No one had ever taken care of her quite this much as he had taken care of her. How could she have not seen it before? This man, who from the time of their introduction had done nothing but save her life repeatedly, time after time again. The first time she had met him had he not been the one to rescue her from that wild horse? And once again when she had tried to stop the bal vivah of one of her students, when the goons were throwing her out of the house he had been there to keep her from falling. He had beaten those guys up and helped her stop the wedding. All these images flew through A's head – the time of the Jaitser project, when her hand had gotten injured crushing the dry fruits, during her pag pheera. He was always there to rescue her.

He had promised not to touch her, and he still hadn't – not in that way anyway. He was holding her hand, applying pressure but she found herself wishing that he would just hold her hands, not because of an injury. But all of a sudden she found herself wishing that he would lean in and…

She stopped at the thought! The very idea made her nervous. But then again, she had that idea and now it wasn't easy to forget the desire of his caress, his lips, a desire for intimacy with her husband…

A was lost in her thoughts as Shiv quickly cleaned the wound with hydrogen peroxide from the first aid kit. And then to stop the bleeding quickly patted the turmeric on her gash. The bleeding was reduced greatly. He then proceeded to wrap gauze around her gash and moved on to work on the second hand.

As he worked he looked up at his wife to make sure she was okay and found himself gazing at something new in her eyes, acceptance -- And he reveled at the thought – but for the first time in his life, he saw love in Anandi's eyes. Love for him…

To be continued!

Please guys let me know what you think! I will try to update as soon as possible but comments and feedback really encourage me! Even if it is hitting like or leaving a simple comment!

Also please excuse the romantic parts – im still working on my romantic side haha!
