i guess there are two concepts - reference and recommendation. In case of BV, do u really think it was a recommendation?? Gauri went to the HR and asked if they would have openings for a doctor. They said they dont usually recruit MBBS doc, but they'd consider Jagat's case. They interviewed him and found him able enough to work for the hospital and he got the job.

IMO, its more a reference than a recommendation. Had the HR found Jagat to be a absolutely good for nothing, would they have offered him the job?? i dont think so..so all the credit taking that Gauri is now doing may be a bit misplaced.
of course, that said, his behavior at the hosp was unacceptable. But he did get the job coz of his merit and not just coz gauri recommended him

@Red Spot on.
Yes, Gauri recommended Jagat's name, but Jagat got the job because he was found capable enough for it. In fact the HR manager had complimented Jagat that in the interview it did not seem like Jagat had not completed MS.
So, I do not think Jagat got the job entirely because of sifaarish. he got the interview because of sifaarish, but got the job because of his capability.

I was actually talking from a spiritual perspective when i said 'mismatch'... that if things are not clicking naturally, then there is perhaps a reason why they are not... I did not mean mismatch of hiring an engineering graduate or architect for a doctors position.
That being said, even if mbbs is the educational qualification for a job, there are so many other things that need to be a fit -- personality type, communication skills, ability to work with diverse people, abilit to work in large teams etc. etc.
Jagat may not be a fit for working as an assistant doctor in an environment like SNG (whatever it be)...so gauri should have been able to assess that I feel...
I mean Lal singh despite being an M.S. would be a misfit for SNG because that is not his personality -- and Gauri would be a misfit for a rural hospital because that is not the environment she would best function in. Similarly, I think jagat wants independence and freedom, and working in a heavily structured prescriptive environment like SNG may not be the best fit.
Even when folks have MBAs, some cant deal with constant uncertainty, so they join organizations. others cant work in structured environments and crave adventure and entrepreneurship, so they will be good to work in start-ups instead.
I feel that the employment opportunity of Jagat at SNG would have come about naturally if it had to happen, and if it did not happen, giving the sifarish was possibly trying to force something when it was not the right time or place.

okay..i got it now what u meant! 😛

yes i agree that there r lot many factors which needed..apart from educational qualification of a person for a job...gauri couldn't feel it...but the responsibility of hospital authority was much more than gauri..they have taken interview before recruiting jaggya..i guess it was not just a formality but the interview was to understand the eligibility of that person! they also failed to understand it that jaggya will not be able to handle such situation...

Oh! please ... Its not a sifaarish ... its called an employee referral

Every single MNC today has this practice - legally. Employees refer someone they know so the HR people are saved from going through 1000s of unsuitable applications. They take an extra minute to personally look at the CV instead of having a computer short list through a pre-determined software.

You refer, company decides whether they even want to interview them and after that are they capable of selection.

It is nothing illegal, nothing immoral, nothing that is going to bring down the structure of our society. It is a completely legal and accepted method of recruitment ... In fact it is considered one of the best methods of shortlisting so as to get a decent pool of candidates for interview.

That being said, Jagat is an Ass.

Agree,
But during the time of interview, Jagya was not disturbed, hence he behaved very professional and worth candidate. But he got disturbed when he found that Gauri is his immediate boss. and after that his behavior was impacted..
So probably this is why interviewer could not find out .
If suppose he would have joined in some other department, he would have doing his job with full concentration and with out disturbance. Then probably he would have shown a better professionalism..
