I just want to know whether anyone has any insights on why jagat doesnt just crack open his books and start studying for his M.S... particularly since he has already done well in 1.5 semesters. why cant he complete the last half semester as well? where is the block of resistance he is facing?
I ask this from a real world perspective too because I have someone in my life who is procrastinating a great deal to finish something ...and it seems the most obvious thing in the world to me...but i dont know where the resistance is for them.

Resistance is from lack of desire.

Jagat , never planned on anything. He wanted to join MS because gawari is joining. He has no motivation that he had to become something. he keeps on changing the track now and then. He wags his tail happily at every biscuit he sees. When his friend proposed to join his hospital, he thought this what i want. when he joined SNG , he thought this is what he want. I really wonder sometimes if that guy ever really knows what he wants.

Thanks ashahai -- that was simple. Resistance is lack of desire 😆😆
Yes, I can see how if we dont have self-goals and are always living other-imposed goals then somewhere we cant 'see' that vision of success...

Is it technically possible for him to do his MS considering that he is supposed to repeat the last semester. This means he shud be attending classes and also complete the internship (or whatever it is called). Since he fought with the Dean, and also doesnt seem to attend the charak hospital, can he still go and write the exam if and when he starts prepping for it??😕

Well dear Tinoo,
there is no special institution that will hold special exams for him, he has to wait and give exams with others, in next semester. 😆. The interviewer did note his knowledge to be good.
As for the person in your life, I think everyone approches things in their own way, at their own pace. Sometimes they may be thinking negative, feeling demotivated, feeling cofused, feeling this is not the path for them etc. Its up to them to get up back again. If it is not bothering you personally then don't cross them, no one likes to be told what to do and what not to. It will only create more mistrust.
If you are being personally harmed (finacially, emotionally etc), then have a heart-to-heart chat. Show them your viewpoints, who knows it will change them. But if there is nothing like this, then simply forget. You or no one can lead any one's life. You will be at peace 😊

It could be a fear of failure. For example, a fear of failure held me back for many months from leaving my current job, which is not in my line of study and for which I'm overqualified, and moving country to find a job in my line and live in a society better suited to me. So it took me ages to finally give in my 1 month's notice (which I did just 2 weeks ago), despite knowing that I desperately needed the change. And all the time I was procrastinating, I was miserable... despite knowing that my problem was solveable, I couldn't bring myself to solve it. I had an overwhelming feeling (and still do to some degree) that it simply wasn't in my kismat to have anything better. In some sense, I'm also afraid of success, I guess... in that if I manage to climb higher, I have further to fall and therefore more to fear. If that makes sense.

I think in Jagat's case, he already has a complex about his wife doing better than him. That sort of thing can give rise to thoughts of, "What if I take the exams and fail/don't do well enough/don't do as well as her and she upstages me yet again?" Or, Jagat being Jagat, it could be just plain laziness and not wanting to have to work towards it, particularly when he no longer has company because all his friends have graduated. Or just feeling kind of down in the dumps... like, "I can't share my feelings with anyone because I've lost my family's support and my wife won't listen and my friends just laugh at me... if I complete my MS, my wife will still be better than me, my friends will still laugh at me and my family still won't be with me... toh kya faida jab main akela hi rahega? ". I know how hard it can be to get work done when you feel emotionally low or stressed (had to struggle with that a lot in uni), so it could be a factor. I kind of saw myself (at one point in time) in Jagat to some degree when he was jobless and lounging around on the sofa with no motivation before getting the SNG job.

Damn, you've got me feeling all sorry for Jagya now! 😛

I've wondered this too 😕 Am assuming he can since Gauri has always mentioned the MS as something he can do, which implies to me that, while the logistics etc. haven't been explained to us viewers, it is possible.
Methinks Jagat should concentrate on earning fee money through his current job and then go back and complete his MS...

because he is basically a lazy guy. Till now Anandi was there to push him to do things. He was under the impression that it is his talent that he became a doctor...😡
