Pratyusha's obsession
Pratyusha Bannerjee aka Anandi of Balika Vadhu has revealed that she is obsessed with herself. She can spend hours preening and posing in front of the mirror. She also claims that the mirror is her friend and always shows good things about her.

Neha's future plans
Neha Marda says that she prefers arranged marriage over love marriage and she has a valid reason for the same. Neha feels that if a love marriage goes wrong there is nothing to fall back on but a girl can return to her parental home if she has had an arranged marriage. However she wants her future husband to be madly in love with her but what matters most is that he should be filthy rich. This girl surely has her future planned to the T.

1 Sex appeal: I keep hearing it from people that I have deep and expressive eyes.

Avika Gor returns with a new role

Avika Gor, aka Anandi of Balika Vadhu is back with a new show on Colors' called Sasuraal Simar Ka. She will play the role of Simar's younger sister, who is a whiz and has all updates regarding television serials. A chirpy Avika is thrilled to bag this role and looks forward to bigger projects and meaty roles in movies.

What can you tell us about your role in Sasuraal Simar Ka?
Not much I am afraid. We will soon launch the show and I would love to talk about the character post that.

In the promos your character is introduced as a young girl who loves watching television and has all the updates about tv world. Do you relate to that in real life?
Of course. I love watching television and I keep tabs of all serials especially on Colors. I enjoy watching them the most. I love Balika Vadhu.

The role seems to be loads of fun and not one that has drama or needs crying.
Well, I enjoy playing all kinds of roles. I won't restrict myself to only dramatic ones, or only funny ones. The true test of an actor is when you perform in a range of roles with the same passion and intensity. I want to try as many roles as possible. Of course I am enjoying playing the fun role in Sasuraal Simar Ka.

You have really long hair. Are they real?
Of course they are. I have been growing my hair for the longest time. And I couldn't be happier that they have reached this length.

How do you take care of them?
My mom is a doctor of naturopathy and she really takes great care of my hair. She ensures I have a good diet and wash my hair regularly. I also get hair treatments once a month to keep my hair healthy and strong. Whenever any chemical is applied, during shoots, I wash my hair off once done. You have to be perseverant and look after your hair continuously.

What do you think of your big hit show Balika Vadhu now that you are no longer a part of it?
I still watch it without fail. I love the show and the twists and turns are very exciting.

Do people still call you Anandi?
Some call me Anandi, some call me Avika and I don't mind it. I love the appreciation and affection of all my fans ?old and young. I got numerous names thanks to Balika bindani, Anandi, ladoo they are all names of affection and I can't have enough.

What did you do in the break between Balika Vadhu and Sasuraal Simar Ka?
I shot a film with director Priyadarshan. I admire his talent and him as a person. I had a small role to play in his new movie but I benefitted from this opportunity. I am not allowed to talk about the film or the cast though.

What do you like watching on television?
I surf channels, music, cartoon, news and also watch the latest serials.

Jagya to call off his marriage to Anandi in Balika Vadhu

Anandi will be in the centre of some more drama once again in Balika vadhu.

A source says, "Anandi will be getting ready to go to Mumbai when she will get a call from Jagya and he will call off their marriage. He will tell Anandi he needs to concentrate on his studies and he cannot do it till he is with her. This will shock Anandi and she will be too numbed to react.

"Later Bhairon will go to Mumbai to meet Jagya where he gets to know about his son's affair with Gauri. Jagya will tell his father he wants to marry Gauri. Bhairon won't take it well and will come back and break down the hospital they had built for Jagya. He will also tell the other family members about his affair which will be yet another shock for Anandi. She will have to be then hospitalised."

Pratyusha Banerjee (Anandi) says, "Anandi will be going through a bad phase and I want the audience to just support her

Anandi is okay with linkups'

It's a dream come true for Pratyusha Banerjee who had stepped into the shoes of Avika Gor to play the older Anandi in Balika Vadhu a year back.

And being the youngest ladli bahu on television, she's carved a niche on telly circuits in just one year. Mesmerised with the 'clean, green and beautiful Nagpur,' Pratyusha bared her heart to NT on various things close to her heart...

Viewers' choice

Pratyusha, who was selected after a nationwide SMS poll a year back to play older Anandi, says with a smile, "I feel lucky because I was chosen by the viewers who really wanted to see me as Anandi. Today when people say aapne toh Avika ko bhula dia, it feels great." So, how has life changed after so much fame? "I have gained a lot of respect and this huge fan following makes me happy. But, few of my friends have stopped talking to me because they feel I am a celebrity now aur mujhme attitude aa gaya hoga," says she.

Saluting naari shakti

For decades, child marriage has been banned and discouraged in India, and this show deals with the same subject. What's her take on this issue? She says, "I don't believe in child marriage because that's the age to study and enjoy life. Early marriage only creates differences between the partners. I think the ideal age to get married is after 23 years."

Of costumes and make-up

This young gal is forever dressed in heavy costumes and makeup on screen. Does that irritate her? She says, "I was so excited to play this character that everything was like an amrit for me. Moreover, I like wearing such clothes and doing make-up." Life's going great guns for this young girl from Jamshedpur, and she is very clear about her future plans too. She reveals, "I have completed my graduation in Commerce from Jamshedpur and now I am planning to do M.Com from Mumbai."

No link-up issues

No body is spared from link-ups in glamour world. How would Pratyusha manage if such rumours begin doing rounds about her? "I will not put any efforts to clear things. I am OK if there's a link-up with my co-star till the time I am in the show. If my viewers are happy to see me with somebody, then I have no issues," she says. Though her on-screen chemistry with Shashank Vyas aka Jagdish is going thanda, how is the off-screen chemistry with him? "We are super good friends. We hangout, party and have fun together. Before any romantic scene is shot, we indulge in a fight and the scene comes out so well," says she with a laugh.

Which has been your most satisfying performance?
Astitva was a role that is closest to my heart. Playing Urmila Manas' ex wife gave me ample opportunity to portray various shades from a guilty woman who has an extra martial affair to a grey shade to a positive woman.

We heard you are turning producer and will soon make a television serial.
I am not comfortable talking about it yet. when the right time comes I will be happy to give details.

You seem to prefer being low profile.
Yes I do. I enjoy being with my friends and family, going out with them and spending time with them post pack up. I don't like socializing for the heck of it or being the media to be in the news. That is not me. I like working and keeping to myself.
