I've been wondering for a while...These women want to throw Rajni out of the house - if they were to succeed, hypothetically, then what would happen after that? If Shaan were to get married to another girl, even if she were Surili's choice, wouldn't the rest of the women be annoyed with that girl, too? Shaan doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would marry any random airhead. He seems like the kind of guy who probably wouldn't get married at all, if left to his own devices.
Before Shaan married Rajni, I used to think Surili was amusing and sophisticated, above the sort of petty scheming that she is now taking part in...There were some moments with Shaan and Amrish where she showed that she isn't a heartless caricature of a mother/wife/socialite. I'd like to see Surili's ego be whittled away at, hopefully sooner rather than later, even if the process is a gradual one. Even if Surili doesn't show it on the outside, I'd like to see at least some begrudging approval of Rajni's actions and words once in a while. Is her ego worth so much more than her son's happiness?
I also thought at least Aishwarya would be on Rajni's side, given their lovely little interaction after Shaan-Rajni's wedding. But nope, Shoguta-who-speaks-in-third-person had to arrive and ruin that. I find Aishwarya to be more bearable than the Kant women - and that's saying something. The less said about Maggie/Sharmila, the better. Even
Kuhu knows how obnoxious the older women in this family are!
I sincerely hope these women learn their share of lessons in respect and humility and humanity. When a robot is more humane than actual humans...Well, I have a feeling that is part of the message...Hopefully, for the Kant women, the only way to go from here is up. So here's hoping...
