Its just that both have found different coping mechanisms...Ram in a very emotional/sentimental way and Priya in a more balanced and rational way. He gives in easily and goes with the flow suppressing his true self under the cool demeanour and she builds a wall around her heart and puts on a tough cookie act! And in Ram's case add to that constant gaslighting by Nandini and one can see why he acquiesces to her every wish!

His deep insecurities around Priya also stem from abandonment issues. Added to that is the fact that both have a very different expression of love. Ram is someone who likes to express his love openly, through words through gestures, big and small. Priya mostly expresses her love for Ram through her actions and care. Before leap Ram constantly yearned for her to express it more overtly but the one or two times she finally did it was only under duress or rather when she was really provoked like that day in the cafe. Had they got enough time after that and Priya had learnt to show her love for Ram more overtly he might have grown more confident in her love. But they did not get that time. And Ram loves Priya very passionately and possessively...her love is more calm and balanced. Sometimes when partners have very different love languages, it can cause some insecurities esp in the early years of a relationship. Once you start understanding your partner better you become comfortable in their unique expression of love. And people learn to express in ways that make the other feel special. Ram and Priya got about six- eight months together and out of that the first few were just fire fighting and trying to understand eo. And with all the family baggage around them and the terrible tragedy they both went into their respective survival mode post leap.

Beautifully said 👏 Their way of expressing love is different. He loved Vedika for years and he did love her dearly. But she dumped him for another man. He accepted that even though it scarred him. He might have loved Vedika but he exercised his right on her. So he found it easy to let go of her. But when he fell in love with Priya, like he once said, he wanted to prioritize himself, his needs. He never did this with Vedika. Even when Priya mentioned she had a crush on Krish - the man who got dumped by his ex despite having loved her immensely surfaced inside Ram which made him jealous all the time. But even in that jealousy he had trust on her. Which is why he told Krish he knows Krish has feelings for Priya but this does not prick him. The only time it did prick him was when Priya hid the truth about her kidnapping but after she mentioned the reason he calmed down. Then again later when Krish told him he did have feelings for Priya, it did not bother him coz he knew whether Krish has feelings for Priya or not, Priya only loved him. Then when the pregnancy reveal happened, he refused to believe Priya though she tried her best to lie through her teeth. But then comes Nandu and enforces the guilt of Shivi's death and traps him. That lost kid took over him again and he let Nandu manipulate him.

Isn’t it getting monotonous with Ram thinking Priya is with Krish and Pihu is Krish’s child!! Priya is still ok with this!?! If she’s thinking Pihu will remember the 7 days she spent with Ram when she grows up, she’s stupid!! I feel so disconnected from the show due to this stupid plots….

EDT has become interesting once again with @thecooldocsid and Vaidharbhi95 , BH, RWL giving their inputs and deeper analysis again. Welcome back and thank you.no offence to any other contributors. These are old contributors whose words, tongue in cheek humor and sarcasm I really missed these past few mo the. I am not watching the serial but have been following IF updates so donot want to express my opinion based on second hand impressions.

Until the writers decide on a shift of the story. We would be getting scene with no meaning or context.

Adding Vedu new plans will only take more screen time now and while we wait for any improvement in the story line.

She keeps Nandini and Shivi above herself for the sake of Ram only , because she thinks that is the priority order in Ram's life.

She is not wrong, given an option to choose between romantic love and duty towards family it will be duty and obligation towards family for Ram. It's a very emotionally exhausting place for him. Ram struggles in balancing relations because unlike Priya he is soft and very conscious of not hurting people.

Diwali night made a huge impact in the way Priya sees Ram. He had confessed to her then that he constantly fears that his love will be divided after Priya entered his life and his family would feel left out. If that happens Ram would go on a guilt trip cursing himself that he let down the promise made to his dead father of keeping the family together.

So Priya as a wife has taken upon herself to respect his obligations.

I don't like drawing mythological parallels because BALH2 has become too impure for that. But still , how in some versions of Ramayan , Sita herself chooses to abandon Ram and raise her child alone in order to protect Ram's Raja dharam. Ram loves Sita dearly but still let's go of his pregnant wife and unfortunately the kids though are innocent they lead a vanvasi life instead of life of a prince. ( I am not a fan of this track of Ramayan , but would stop here because don't want to hurt anyone's religious sentiments)

This dynamic will change only and only when Ram can break free from the kind of suffocating obligation he feels towards his step family and he tells Priya about it. But we know that Ram himself will never be able to do that. The scene were Priya confronts on whether he is hurt by Shivi's words, he vehemently refuses. He has never been able to accept to himself in sober state that his step family doesn't love him and all he has is their daya/mercy.

So only when Priya sees through the evil side of Nandini which will harm Ram , she will free not only herself but Ram too ..

You make very good points. Actually I had written an MBTI personality analysis for Ram and Priya in one of the EDTs (probably #36 or #37 or #35) to make a connection between their pre leap and post leap avatars. I couldn't find the link atm, but if I find it I'll post its link for you .

I glanced through the past couple of edt’s, I might have missed it… please do share the links..🤗

Also, remember your recommendation? Krpkab…? I was actually reading about parental attachment and children’s adaptations according to that reg, the show… It is a gold in the dust of itv galore.

arey… notice the loop… she started the plan thinking about pri’s strength of not running away, this time , with a vantage point on priya of her past …. Around ram’s bday

at the exact same place

she started the plan with nandu thinking about pri’s strength of self esteem, with a vantage point on ram of his past… Around pri’s bday ..

now, tell me… will this bring rayahu together or not?

I also don’t like seeing BALH drawing parallels with mythological stories, especially nonsensical scenes with bhajans in the background. Priya is slowly but surely starting to see what N and Shubham is capable of. She should also be having the same thoughts about V too given what she has done previously to muddle Ram-Priya relationship . It’s high time that we see progress in the story, otherwise, show will be doomed seeing the slippery slope it’s in.
