I like S2 Priya more because S1 Priya was a door mat, her whole family was taking her for granted (similar to Ram infact), only her father was supportive, but he was mostly voiceless. Atlest here, Priya’s family values her.
tbh about the characterization of the leads character i prefer s2 too ❤️ i love priya’s character especially, very different from other itv female leads! the best thing about her is that she isnt a doormat and will speak up and take stand. yeah 1-2 times she does mistake but everyone does mistake they r human after all! i find priya’s character this season realistic n yeah there r many strong ladies like priya who exists in real life.
i like ram’s character too. though this season’s ram is too emotional and can get influenced easily, but what i like about him is that he has a very different characterization and attitude. usually in itv they show male leads like kabir singh, attitude wale and khadoos. but here the male lead is jolly, clumsy, bubbly and cheerful, usually female lead is like this but here they r showing male lead like this.
this show broke stereotypes in one way, they showed that even a guy can cry and even a lady can do all the speaking and there is nothing wrong in that! supporting character wise maybe the first season might be ahead, but tbh this season’s supporting characters like adi, brinda, shubham, sandy these characters have potential but are not getting enough screen-space at all! and their storyline isnt even being explored properly.
i get why they r giving screen space to nandini as she is typical ‘classy’ saasu maa(i like nandini more than niharika, ram’s stepmom in s1) but vedika is so uneeded and waste of screen space(no offence to the actress, i just dont like vedu, reena is fine)
but some characters i like the s1 version more like natasha (shivi) and priya’s dad.
