OS : You disappointed me

Priya was annoyed and angered. She was disappointed in Mr Ram Kapoor. He had just let Vedika walk out, just like that after everything. She had wanted Vedika to get arrested, she deserved to be punished for what she did. She had admitted to helping a woman who she thought was a victim of Akki's bad intentions.
She thought that Akki was a man who would have a tainted character. She believed a random woman over Akki. And then she had the audacity to compare what she had done with what Priya had done to bring Shivi and Akki together. Priya had developed an instant dislike for the woman she had secretly started admiring for her beauty, poise and mannerism.
But what hurt most was Ram agreeing with her. She had quietly made her way to the terrace as soon as they reached.
She wiped her tears as she stared at the dark sky.
'Aise kaise wo soch sakte hain jo maine kiya aur jo Vedika ne kiya same thaa? Mujhe laga thaa ki wo samjhenge meri baat. Waise toh kehte rehte hain, main apna point of view unhe nahi samjhaane ki koshish karti. Aur jab kiya toh mujh pe hi chilla uthe– bas Priya, bas. Let it go. Aise kaise let it go.'
"Priya," she heard his voice.
She hurriedly wiped her tears and maintained a straight face. "Mujhe akele rehna hai," she said.
"Meri baat toh suno," she heard from behind.
"Nahi suni hai mujhe aapki baat." She turned around to look at him.
"I can explain.. " He mumbled.
"Aap ne suna kya jab main explain karne ki koshish ki? Nahi. Toh main kyun sunu aapka explanation. Nahi suna hai."
"Tumhaari yahi problem hai. Tumhe lagta hai ki tum hamesha sahi ho aur dusre galat. Ab jaane bhi do. You don't have to stubbornly hold onto the matter."
"Nahi jaane de sakti. Because it is not morally correct Mr Kapoor. Maine jo kiya aur Vedika ne jo kiya, wo do alag cheezein hai. Maine jo..."
His expression softened and he spoke up,
"Tum ne jo kiya wo Shivi Ki khushi ke liya kiya tha. Taaki wo kuch stupidity naa kare. Use Shambhala ne ke liya kiya thaa. Lekin Vedu.ika ne jo kiya wo ..."
"Wo Shivi ko harm kar sakta thaa. Wo Shivi ki khushi hamesha ke liye cheen sakta thaa. Wo do pyaar karne waalo ko hamesha ke liye alag kar sakta thaa. Wo kisi ki family pe hamesha ke liye ek kaala dhappa laga sakta thaa. Wo Shivi ko tod skata thaa. Wo Akshay ko tod sakta thaa. It could bring down an entire family." Priya spoke with tears.
"I know," He admitted looking down. "But Vedika is like... family. Ussne jo kiya wo Shivi ke ..." He fumbled.
Priya did not wait and spoke up aggressively, "Maine aaj jo be kaha, kiya, wo Akshay ke liye nahi thaa. Wo Shivi ke liye bhi nahi thaa. Wo har wo ladki ke liye thaa jo aisi situations se guzarti hai par koi unka yakeen nahi karta hai. Agar aaj Vedika chaaye thodi der ke liye hi sahi jail jaati, chaaye ek bade fine ke liye hi arrest hoti toh, toh agli baar koi bhi aise hi itne bade crime ke naam pe kisi ladke pe keechad uchalne se pehle say baar sochta. Har wo ladki jiske saath bura hua hai, apne liye justice maangne se pehle sochti nahi. Agar aisa hi chalta raha naa, jo Jin auraton ke saath galat hota hai naa, unhe Justice kabhi nahi milegi."
Ram stood fixed, staring at her. The fire in her eyes, her anger, it was not because her brother was humiliated but because she cared for all those women who actually went through unjust treatments. It was not just to protect what Shivi had, what Shivik and Akshay had. He respected her for that. Like always his respect for his wife deepened.
"I am sorry, Priya." He said.
"No, Mr. Kapoor. A sorry will not fix this. You chose friendship over what's right. Agar Akki ki jagah aap hote yaan Shubham hota toh aap kya karte?"
Color drained from Ram's face.
"I will tell you Mr Kapoor. Vedika or any other person who did that would be behind the bars. Because you'd choose family over friendship. I am sorry Mr Kapoor but your principles are grey. You have a priority list. And what's right sits below all those people you love. Aap apne aakhon ke saamne galat hote dehk lenge, you cannot stand for truth over everything. And there, I was wrong about you Mr Kapoor. I thought we were alike when it came to our principles, our core values. But we are not. I wouldn't blink twice if it was my friend or even my sister in place of Vedika. But you did...." with that Priya’s loud voice trailed off in the night air.
She looked at him pained. She genuinely thought he was a just man. A man she could be proud of. But just like everyone, he had a grey shade too. He was biased.
She slowly walked towards him, in throes of disappointment and anger. "You disappointed me, Mr Kapoor."
Ram stood their as she walked past him. That was probably the harshest treatment he had ever met. It hurt like it had never before. He hadn't felt the stinging pain when he had to struggle through life, when Vedika had dumped him or even when he had anaphylaxis attack. He felt like someone had just set him on fire and he couldn't as much as move or cry for help.

Just a little something after seeing today's episode.
A part of me has always wanted Priya to call out on Ram's based behavior over and above what is right, hence a little bit of that. :p
