RAYA SS - A Simple Wish Part 17

Recap :

Ram kept calling her..but she never looked back...
Taking a deep sigh...he stood against his car...trying to figure out want suddenly got into her...and decide to clear all everything tomorrow at the party as he was going to Propose her...

PART 17

Around 5 o' clock Priya heard a knock at her door... it was Kritz... she could understand how Priya would be feeling...

She came and sat beside her...by the window...she rubbed Priya's arms gently...if that somehow would sooth her...

For a while the two friends sat looking outside the window...

"Priya its already 5:30... we need to go to Uncle's house... they are important to us... they have been like parents... we can't put our self over them atleast today..." Kritz tried to be rational about the situation...

For the first time after she returned from office... there was a change in her eyes... the gloomy...sad...hurt...was replace by a bit of belongingness...for the two most loved person after her partners...

Nodding affirmatively... Priya rested her hands on Kritz assuring she will sure go...and indicated her to get ready for the party...

Priya gathered herself...making her way towards the cupboard...as she opened her eyes fell on the gift wrapped box...feeling it she recalled how like a kid he had asked her not to open it till 11th...but now things have changed...she did not want to open it ever...

Unwanted also Priya could not stop herself... she sat on the bed with the box infront of her...staring at...

The Party at the Ferdricks had the touch of 70's and 80's Carl was in the type of suit that he wore when he proposed Eli...while she adorned the similar gown of the same pink and white polka dots that she wore that day...

Priya was at two minds about Ram coming to the party... but her conscious was very much sure HE will come...

Ram appeared at the door step...with a bunch of flowers and a champagne bottle in his hands...

This was sure a surprise... to Priya that he came...and more over he wore the suit that she gifted him...

His eyes were searching for her... she tried to avert them...turned towards Kritz pretending to be indulged in a conversation...but kept glancing at him... from the corner of her eye...

He was looking the same as she had pictured him in that suit...He had all the coloured suit but not white in his wardrobe...and thus it did turn out to be a great gift...

The white colour radiated making his face look brighter...the black lapel of the jacket adorned his royalty even more...his gelled hair gleamed...against the light...but most of all the shine in his eyes was different...

The Rolex watched shimmered when he raised his hands to wave at the couple of the night...Priya's eyes just watched him...the sound of his black and white shoes were also not unnoticed by her...it was as the fly was being pulled towards the sun again and again..even it knew it will be burnt by it...

He hugged Eli aunty and Carl Uncle...but his eyes were still looking for her...getting the hint aunt pointed out to the direction were Priya was standing with Kritz...

His heart knew no bound of happiness when he saw her in that dress...She was were what he hand wished to see her in and she kept her promise...

The black gown...ran down her form from her shoulder length...it fitted her curves well...exposing the sleek waist line of her frame...running the length of her leg...the slight slit... exposed her slim legs each time she moved...her glowing arms played hide and seek against the netted sleeves...

He just wanted to hold her in his arms again...as they had been when she was in his house...the time when it was only him and her...the time when her hands brushed his...when she was about to kiss him...the time when...she brushed his hair while he slept...

He felt the engagement ring box in his left pocket and slowly moved towards her...

Priya saw this the she held her juice glass with both hands...trying to ease her apprehension...even started stealing glances from the people around her...

Inside she started praying to god that they don't come face to face...

DJ's voice boomed in the hall...it was like God answered her prayers...

But being a couple dance...everyone was invited...

Ram came from the back and stood infront of her...forwarding her hands...with the ever charming smile of his...

She wanted to ignore and walk away...but she was caught...when Eli aunty came and handed her hands in Ram's extended palm...

As the beautiful Beethoven from Love Story 1970 played...the couples swayed to it...

Unwantedly Priya also had to come close to Ram as he pulled her...snaking his hands around her waist...the satin of her dress..brushed against his hands...She also felt the strong shoulder of his as she rested her hands...it took them both back to the last time she was in his room tying that wind chime...and he helped her come down the stool...the time she felt that secure when he had held her the same way...the time when she felt secured resting her hands against his shoulders...

His eyes were at her...but she averted her glance...but everytime her eyes met her...they were not like the first day she saw the smoky eyes but a shining...gleaming and confidence...they were focused at her..

She felt restless. As if something was about to happen. Something he wasn't prepared for...Ram leaned toward, head tilted at just the right angle to make an offering against her cheeks. She moved away...they danced across the floor...towards the corner... "Priya why are you behaving like this...all of a sudden..." he spoke is tone being light... she did not say anything but kept frowning... "Look...I don't know..." Those words from him were enough to ignite the anger in her...

Priya jerked free of his hands... "That's the problem I don't know...i don't know anything...you never made me a part of it..." She narrowed her eyes
