RAYA SS - A Simple Wish Part 16

RECAP :

For the first time after the conversation he lifted his face...and smiled... "I hope you are happy..." She replied with a soft affirmative nod...

"I will leave you to rest...have few office work to deal with..." he patted her palm...and kissed her hair...as he stood to leave...

PART 16

As the sun met the horizon...Priya appeared in his study...He was sitting with his back towards the door...

"Ram..." she knocked at the door before entering...

He turned in his swirling chair... welcoming her with smile...she stood by him..resting her hand on his shoulder...He rested his hands on her's...

"Hmmm" as if he asked her what was the matter...does she want to talk about anything

There was this big question her mind about his behavior towards his family...why is he so aloof from them...she felt that it was only on her saying he introduced them to her... But...why...this question was in the mind of her conscious also...but it decided to push away the query and it nodded a no to Priya to drop the idea...when he was in a good mood today...

For the first time Priya and her conscious were in harmony on the topic..

He grabbed her by her waist making her sit on his lap...securing her

"Now tell me"

"Actually..Uncle called its there anniversary next week... So he invited..." She paused... and looked staright into the shining black eyes of his...who was listening to her soulfully... "You and me..." she waited her his answer...while playing with the button of his sleeves

"Oh..." an icy answer from him cut her inside... But then the stone cold face busted into a grin... "I will come with you..." and he hugged her tightly...

"Thankyou Ram" she threw her arms around his neck and reciprocated the hug...

"Ram there is one more thing I want to tell you..." Priya spoke...breaking the hug...she waited...and tried to sink in the words she herself wanted to say...Then slightlying brushing his side bun...

Ram who was enjoying this..her closeness and her touch...His hands become tight against her waist pulling her even close...but before she could say they were interrupted by Jeffery who came to call them for dinner...

Through the dinner...Priya was but jittery...

Finally wiping his face with the napkin... Ram placed his hands on Priya's hands which rested on the table... this brought back Priya from the trance...who was subconciouly playing with last few pieces of vegetable on her plate...

Raising his eyebrows as into to as what happened'

She left the fork on the plate...and placed her hand on top of his...took a deep breath...faced him straight...

"Ram...First Promise me you will not be angry..."

He could feel the tension in her voice and her grip...on his hand was firm... He twitched his brows joining them...paused thinking for a few seconds...his lips curled into a slight hint of smile...he then nodded in affirmation

Priya looked at the resting hands on the table trying to gather some courage to speak...because she knew this will irk him for sure but she has to tell him now

Taking a deep breath she looked up at him... "Ram you have taken real good care of me...i liked my stay here..." she again paused and took a deep breath...on the other end it was getting difficult of Ram to hold on...as he almost figured out what was coming next... looking back at him...creasing his plams... "Moreover Ram I liked that you were there all the while...beside me...all these days...made me feel special... all the while...but now I think...I should go back to my place...

As the last words left Priya's lips Ram pulled back his hand...he knew this was coming but his heart was not ready for another breakthrough...of someone leaving him...it was like the nightmare coming to life again...

Both were astonished at eachothers reaction...

Ram tried to steal away his sight looking the other way...while Priya was almost sure that his next step would be to walk off the table...she drooped her head..sadly...

But then she felt a similar touch... it was Ram he had held her palm...smiling positively he looked up at her...squeezing her palm lightly "I can understand...what you might be feeling..." he tried to keep his tone calm and gulped the lump down his throat before uttering the rest of the few words... "You can very well go to your apartment ...I have no problem" he agreed to her decision with a sight nod...

Priya was pleased that he has not reacted as she expected or that would have really hurt her because seeing him hurt was the last thing she wanted...

Next day till lunch Ram was nowhere to be seen..she enquired Jeffery but he was also clueless...she tried his cell phone...but always found the voicemail...she was starting to worry...

Priya then thought of getting him something...as a gift...and left for the mall...

As he entered his room the sight that he witnessed was blissful...she was standing against the vibrant color of the sun...her azure salwar suit...almost mixing with the blue of the ocean...and her locks blowing against the air...

But he came back to reality when he realized that she was standing on a stool trying to fix a wind chime...on the frame of his door that opened to the ocean..

Sprinting he stopped just beside her held her by her knees to secure her from falling...

The sudden touch was a surprise for Priya..she stumbled a bit but steadied herself by holding against his broad strong shoulder...their eyes bore into each other...telling all they wanted to say all this while which the tongue failed to speak...

She resumed to fix the metallic aircraft modeled wind chime...while is grim around her keens grew strong...

Finally winding the last knot...she rested her hand on his shoulder...and his grim loosened allowing her to descend...his hand brushed her sides and she slide against his firm fingers...and his eyes...gazed upon her descending figure...capturing the beautiful form he was holding against him...drinking her beauty realizing her sweet aroma...

She was on her feet but their hands were entwined into one another...brushing her thumbs against his palm she asked... "Do you like it...?"
