NOTE: Hope this time you wont be dissatified with Ram's part. And the story will move ahead and focus on RaYa more now but NeVik will always be there. Hope you would like it. So lets take leave now and meet next week.

Neel, Veena[anupum-dil], Sandhya and Malathi your guesses were right regarding Neha and Vikram.

Abbreviations:
ICU: Intensive Care Unit
ICCU: Intensive Cardiac Care Unit
OP: Out Patient
IP: In patient
DMO: Duty Medical Officer( MBBS doctors)
RFT: Renal Function Tests (denote kidney functioning)
Pedal oedema: Swelling of feet can be upto legs.
Nephrologist: Medical specialist for kidneys(Qualification DM Nephrology)

PART 4

The next morning RK got up early and freshened up and went to talk with dadi. He saw her laughing aloud and talking with his mother. Ram was surprised to see her like that as he very well knows his busy schedules are keeping her worried about him and usually she would be sad and thinking.
RK: Haii dadi goodmorning..aaj kuch special hai kya?
Dadi: Are Golu tu aagaya, aaja nashta karle, Krishna puttar Golu ko nashta do.
Krishna ji: Jee Maa.
RK: Kya dadi, bolo na aaj kuch special hai kya?
Dadi: Nahi re golu. Kyun laga aise tujhe.
RK: He didnt know what to say..hmm kuch nahin aap itna khush dikh rahe hai na..usually aap mujhse naaraz rehte ho na, ki main busy rehtha hoon apna khayal nahi rakhta aur shadi vagaira vagaira..
Dadi: Ohhh toh tujhe mere hassne se aisa lag raha hai ki aaj kuch special hai..
RK: ...
Dadi: She laughed out aloud and said ek doctorni ne kaha ki main agar hasti rahoongi toh tu apna kaam achi tarah kar sakega aur khush rahega. Upar se mere liye pareshan nahi rahega. Main bilkul theek hoon golu tu pareshan mat ho aur thoda kaam jaldi nipta ke ghar aaya karo.
Leh teri maa ne nashta laya, khalo aur apne kaam pe jao.
RK: He was literally puzzled to see his dadi lively and was happy that she is following a doctor's advice. She usually never listened to him even if he said the same thing.
Phew...anyways, I should thank the doctor who could convince dadi. Vikram na mujhe naam bhi nahi bataya. Aaj poochke I will drop a message to the doctor.

Priya got up very late as she wasnt disturbed by Neha. She checked the time and rushed to get ready to hospital. Neha offered her lift and she didnt say no she had less time to reach hospital on time.
Neha dropped her outside the hospital and drove away. Priya was informed that as other physicians were yet to come she has to look after every referral/IP and where ever needed.
Ram was very busy with cases wholeday as he wasnt there the previous day. Vikram went to Delhi as he had to attend conference.
Ram and Priya didnt meet again and they were very busy with their work. Priya was now reaching home daily by 6pm.
Three days passed by in the mean while..

Vikram came back from Delhi and went to RK's home directly to meet him but as RK already had left to hospital he messaged him that he was back and would meet him that day. RK had lined up surgeries in his schedule, so he finished his ICU and ICCU rounds and went into OR by noon. Priya was busy with OP/IP/referral cases.
It was 8pm and Vikram was waiting for Ram who was in OR since noon. He got a call and told that he will look into the matter.
Priya was in ICCU for past one hour as there were two referrals. One patient had pedal oedema(swelling of feet) and it was a known cardiac case awaiting for bypass.
P: Doctor, I have written my notes and adviced RFT and I want to know the values as soon as they come and call the nephrologist too. I have written everything in the case sheet ok.
V: Hi Priya, good evening.
Priya saw Vikram coming in and wished him back.
V: You still in hospital?
P: Yeah, it was a busy day and there was a referral here which was a sort of emergency. What is the time..(looked at her watch..Shit Neha will kill me) Its already 8..excuse me Vikram..(with DMO) Hope you understood me doctor. Make sure about it. Ok.
Vikram I will leave now. Am late today.
V: Oh ok, fine..kaha jaana hai aapko.
P: Paas mein hi. I will go now, bye.
V: If you dont mind shall I drop you.
P: Nooo its ok I will go. Thank you.
V: Common Priya its near only na I will drop you.
Priya cell buzzed at the same time.
She looked at it and got a broad smile. Haan Neha main...
N: Are you crazy?? Am calling from past 2hours, where the hell are you? Dont you know how to pick your phone, am going mad here. Come home I will kill you. You crazy doctor. I am..
P: Nehaaa..Sorryyy.(smile)
Neha went calm.
P: I will be there in an hour. Priya kept the call and started to move out of ICCU.
V: Aapke ghar wale bhi pareshan ho rahe hai. Cab leke jaane mein late hoga please let me drop you.
Priya was in no mood to go late as she was dead tired still she hesitated to say yes..
V: You can trust me Priya, if you have any doubt you can drop my car no. near security and..
P: No no Vikram, lets go.
Vikram was more than happy.
They both came out and Vikram dropped her near her flat asking directions from her.
She offered him to visit their flat but he politely said not now and drove away. Priya was still in dilemma regarding Vikram's behaviour. He hardly knew her still he was so concerned and caring.
She reached the flat in no time. With out any need to press door bell Neha was standing at the door with both hands on her waist. Priya could sense fumes from her and it brought a smile on her face.
N: Ohhh madam is soo happy that she came home now68.. I thought you have dedicated your life to hospital. Damn it..you are my responsibility and you have no sense to drop a message atleast. How dare you do like this..How much worried I was and how many times I rang you...
While Neha was going on and on Priya changed and freshened up and came near Neha.
N: Tumhe koi farak nahi padh raha hai na..Main pagal ki tarah chilla rahi hoon aur tum hass rahe ho..kya..
Priya hugged Neha "am extremely sorry darling, yeh galti ayr kabhi nahin karoongi..u r my sweet buddy na..please maaf kardo mujhe"
N: Was dumb for a while and broke the hug saying you are such a killer.. you know how to manaofy me.
Priya: let out sigh of relief..feeling very hungry yaar, dopahar main kuch acha nahin khaya.
N: Aur karo hospital main duty khana peena chodhke. She served dinner soon and both ate with minimal talking.
Priya immediately fell asleep as she was tired very much. Neha adjusted her duvet and went to her room.

The next morning Priya woke up earlier than Neha got ready and prepared breakfast for both of them. She woke up Neha and told her to come soon as breakfast was hot. They both ate and left flat to their jobs.

Everyone in ICCU was on their toes as Dr. RK was doing rounds. They very well know how he will react if he finds any mistake. He was famous aming sisters as "Tiger" and they took every care that no doctor knows about this.

RK: (Angrily)Why dont you people just go and sit in your homes if you dont want to work. What I have instructed and what you did? The Physician's notes tells that RFT was adviced and the reports are awaited. Its been 24hours and still no review for this case. You know I have to post this case for surgery and you people are lazy and negligent to arrange the case. Who was the DMO last night? Who was the physician.. call here immediately.
Priya entered ICCU to review the case she saw last night. She saw the staff and the doctor were tensed about something. She went to DMO to ask her about the case and RK saw her at the same time.
All others left the place immediately.
RK: Oh madam so you have come now I have asked for this case and you didnt even review till now. If you dont know the importance of a physician referral then why on earth you took up the case. I would have called someone else. I am really wondering why you people comefor this profession, its life saving one not a desk job everything goes on an emergency basis. You..

Priya was first utterly shocked for this unannounced attack and tears already welled up in her eyes.
RK saw those tears, he got irritated and murmured ufff gals know only crying.
P: Excuse me sir, why are you yelling at me? May I know(stressed)..if its about this case then can I see the case sheet.
RK gave her the case sheet.
P:I think you need to check the time of my visit. It was 7.30pm last night as they called me then and I adviced RFT and sister has send blood sample at 8pm. So the reports might have arrived at 8am and I have instructed the DMO to call me once they get the reports, but they DIDN'T okk and I came by myself to check the case as I know what does emergency mean..I have asked to call nephrologist too. I am sorry to say keep your arrogance with you. I know why am in this profession you have no need to teach me. And as per the reports S. Creatinine is high so you can ask the Nephrologist to do the needful. Am done.
Saying this Priya walked away from there. RK stood there while guilt was hovering him. He felt bad for his behaviour. He breathed out and came out of ICCU. RMO reached the place at the last moment and sensing some tension in air he asked what has happened. The DMO explained everything and said the fault was theirs as it was their shift exchange time and he has not to seen the case as some other patient was bugging him. RMO ran to RK's cabin and explained it as the ICCU dMO and staff's mistake but no one else should be blamed. RK sent him away and held his head.
RK: Yeh kya kar raha hai Ram...itna gussa woh bhi bina soche samjhe..bechari...
Priya asked sister not to send patients for 15mins and when she was alone cried her heart out. She took deep breaths to compose herself took a gulp of water and called the patients in. The next 2hours she kept herself busy with patients. Once she finished the last patient she left to doctor's lounge as her head was throbbing. She sat at a table with tears in her eyes. She was unable to accept RK's rude and arrogance towards her.
Hii Priya.
Priya shot her head up and Vikram was baffled to see her tears. He immediately sat beside her and asked what happened. She asked him to leave her alone for a while.
Hii Yaar..main kab se dhoondh raha hu tujhe.
Vikram saw Ram approaching and got up to go to him.
RK: Yeh kisske saath baitha hai tu..pata hai aaj kya hua..tu chal main tujhse baat...
Priya came out of her thoughts and saw RK standing over there. She got up from there and walked away briskly. Vikram felt her irritation and was gaping at her.
RK: Oh shit.. tu Priya Sarma se baat kar raha tha. Tut...she went away. I have to say sorry.
V: Tu kyun usse sorry bolega.
RK said what happened in the morning and even said that he is feeling guilty for that.
V: Raaamm...ufff tu toh mujhe marwa dega...
RK: Kyaa be?? Kya bak raha hai..
V: Kuch nahin. Tujhe itna gussa kyun aata hai kai tu saamne wale ko ek bhi mauka bina diya tera suna deta hai. She so helped you by making dadi normal and you have...
RK: What?? SHE??
V: Haan, dadi ko samjhane wali doctorni yahi thi.. aur dadi bhi isski baat patak se maanli jaisa issne jadoo kiya ho. Instead of thanking her you have hurt her??? Kamaal ka hai Ram tu.
RK: Tujhse main baad main niptoonga first lemme go find her.
Ram literally ran towards lift and he called Operator to find out Priya's number and her where abouts. He reached her cabin no soon and knocked on it. The staff were standing still in their places seeing Dr.RK like that.
Come in..
Ram rushed in and said I am extremely sorry.
Priya was bewildered to see him there and once her mind registered his presence she rose from her chair to go away. Am sorry I have an emergency.
RK: Common Priya ji itna bhi akad mat dikhao.
P: You know whats your problem..tumhara arrogance and ego. I dont have any problem if you want to live with that and I dont want to hurt myself. She gasped her breath and realised she spoke too much so she said sorry and came out of the cabin.
Ram followed her. The staff were in no clue about the happenings.
Priya walked towards the lift and saw that the lift boy has left it open ad went some where. She got into it and was about to press the G button. Ram rushed in and pressed the 5 button and closed the door. Priya was completely taken aback with that buy she didnt want to create a scene so she stood calm. When the lift stopped on 5th floor Ram opened the door and asked her to come out. Priya didnt move.
RK: Agar nahin aaoge toh ghar nahi jaane doonga.
P: Who the hel(controlled herself for a while)..who are you to stop me?
RK: Kuch bhi sochlo its better than this guilt. Please Dr.Priya..
Priya came out of the lift and stood in the corridor folding her hands and looking away from him.
RK: First of all am very sorry for venting my anger on you. It was like..hmmm I dunno anger management at all. Rather you have helped me a lot by making my dadi normal. I so wanted to thank you but I have hurt you. Knowingly or unknowingly I did a mistake and I will not feel good until you forgive me. Please Dr. Priya I am a heart surgeon so jitna dil ke baare main jaanta hoon utna dimag aur kisi aur cheeze ke baarein mein nahi jaanta. I hope you will try to understand. Thank you and sorry from bottom of my heart. Now you can go. Please...
Priya looked into his eyes once and entered the lift. While the lift doors were closing she caught a glimpse of RK taking a cigarette.
Priya reached flat and she threw herself on bed. She didnt care to change or eat. When Neha came she was surprised to see Priya like that. Neha shook her until she woke up.
N: Kya hua Priya? Thak gayi ho kya? Kuch khaya ki nahin?
Seeing Neha infront of her Priya broke out suddenly. Neha was shocked to see her cry. She was asking her to calm down and was trying to console her but Priya wasnt able to control herself.
N: Mujhe batao yaar kya hua hai?
Priya explained everything that happened in the hospital between her sobs. Neha felt bad for Priya and got angry wid RK. She didnt say anything until Priya finished.
N: Theek hai Priya jaanede usse, tu itna feel mat kar. Avoid him as much as possible.
P: Wahi tho nahi kar paa rahi hoon Neha...its like am unable to understand myself here. He has hurt me and insulted me infront of everyone still I am not able to hate him or be angry with him. His harsh words are pricking me like anything but I am not having any anger on him. Pata nahin jabse usse dekha hai kuch ajeeb sa mehsoos karti hoon..dil ki dhadkanein tej ho jaate hai aur dil bhar jaata hai. Saans nahi le pati hoon. Kya ho raha hai mujhe samajh nahi paa rahi hoon. Aankhein band karti hoon to usska hassi aankhon ke saamne aajata hai lekin bahut mushkil se usse hata rahi hoon. Kya hai yeh aur mere saath kyun ho raha hai Neha? Why is he haunting me like this? She hugged Neha and cried her heart out..am not able to digest his rudeness towards me. Ussne sorry bola lekin usska gussa dimag bhool nahin raha hai. Dil kuch aur keh raha hai aur dimaag kuch aur..bahut dard ho raha hai Neha..yeh sab mere liye ajeeb hai aur anjaan hai..ab kyun yaar?(crying continuously)
Neha allowed her to cry and when she heard sobs she broke the hug and wiped her tears and gave water. Made her go to washroom and when she was back Neha was ready with food in a plate. She fed her and made her lie down. She ate and finished the chores and came to Priya's room to sleep along with her. She didnt want to leave Priya alone.
The next morning Priya woke up as she was distutbed by Neha's talk.
N: Haa darling, I know but its ok I will take care..
Love you too baby, dont worry. Haa theek hai baad mein call karthi hoon.
Priya was like surprised to see Neha blush and all.
P: Tu blush bhi karthi hai.
Neha turned to see Priya and gave a blushy smile.
P: Hayee hayee meri bubbly devil has one more angle too. Very good. Am happy...but you know..
N: Kya..
P: By the way kisse baat kar rahi thi?
N: Aur kisse, with my Radhe..
P: Wahi tho, phew..pata nahi tumhare parents kaise react karenge?
N: Issiliye tumhe yaha bulaya na..
P: WHAT???
N: Haan you have to convince them. Ok. Am going now. Go get ready will have breakfast. Aaj mujhe bahuth kaam hai. Chalo.
P: Was in a state of shock for sometime and with difficulty she came back to normal and went to freshen up.
At breakfast table Neha didnt respond to Priya's banter and just told that she will explain everything in the evening. Priya was still unable to accept what she has heard in the morning. Priya was picking up her things while lost in some thoughts, Neha came from back and asked..
RK means??
P: Ram Kapoor...Errr
N: Very good baby, I just wanted to confirm. I am so happy for you. Bye for now. You go safely.
P: Oh no this girl na keeps me in shock and makes me reveal my unknown feelings. Isse main shaam mein deal karungi. Ab hospital mein..with this she remembered yesterday's incident and tears welled up in her eyes. She controlled herself and took cab to go to hospital.
She went to ICU and ICCU first to check on the IP and to see any referrals were there. She was talking with patient and counselling him that Ram came to ICCU for his rounds.
He saw Priya on bedside and heard her talking and immediately he got a smile on his face.
RK: Common now, why am I smiling seeing her. He shrugged his shoulders and went to do his work.
Priya finished her rounds and was on the way to her cabin.
She was waiting for lift and was checking time..
Goodmorning doctor.
Priya saw the man and it was RK and he was smiling broadly.
She wished him back casually and turned her gaze. Both entered the lift and Ram was standing behind Priya. Priya was sensing some heaviness and fast beats in her heart. She was feeling nervous.
Ram was observing her all the while and he was constantly smiling. He checked in the mirror and found strange that he was smiling like a fool all the while.
Priya got out of the lift on her floor. She felt relaxed after coming from lift but still she could sense some piercing gaze from her back. Ram was staring until she disappeared from sight.

At 1pm Priya went to library and sat with a book. Vikram came in wishing her. He querried about her lunch. She politely rejected. Vikram wanted to bring up yesterday's matter but he was hesitating.
P: Bolo Vikram kya bolna chahthevho..
V: Priya woh..
P: Haan am all ears just finish it soon.
V: Woh Ram ne kal.
Priya's expression changed from irritation to anger. She controlled herself and stared with neutral face.
Vikram continued..Jo bhi ussne kiya hai woh galat hai, I know and he too realised that but its out of care for patient he just went overboard. Waise dil ka bura nahin hai lekin gussa bahut jaldi aata hai usse. He is feeling extremely sorry for what he did and he
P: One minute Vikram did he send you to give an explanation.
V: No.
P: Then why you want to do that.
V: Because he is a good man and my best friend too.
Priya let out a Ohhh...
V: Common Priya it was a misunderstanding.
P: Nooo it wasnt misunderstanding it was his arrogance, rudeness and superiority complex. Dont try to brush off your friend's behaviour as misunderstanding Vikram. And why I have to discuss this. Its over for me.
She stood up and was about to move out from there.
V: Kal woh tumhare peeche bhaaga tha..tab tumhe ussmein arrogace dikhayi diya kya? He said sorry in his own way ofcourse it may not be the best way but he is like that Priya, he has adorned this arrogance due to some phases in his life. He is feeling bad since then and didnt even had his dinner. Isnt this guilt. You can forgive him na Priya..I am not able to see Ram like that he is silent and lost in thoughts.
P: Whatever, I dont ever again see his cases and will avoid him as much as possible. Now am going please dont trouble me.
V: You should not behave like this Priya, the whole world can misunderstand Ram but not you, when you are..
P: Stood there and stared at Vikram, what do you mean?
V: Haan tum ko tho usse samajhna hai na.
P: Woh kyun?
V: Hhhuu... Kaash tumhari dhadkanein jo tumhe bata rahe kaash tum samajh paati..jo dil mein jagah bana liya uspe gussa karke apne aap ko kyun takleef dena chahthe ho Priya. Woh tumhare khayal, khwab aur dil ka hissa bangaya hai ek baar apni dil ki suno Priya.
Priya was in a state of disbelief, confusion and shock..
She took 5mins to come back to senses.. yeh kya bol rahe ho Vikram? Aur yeh tum kaise keh rahe ho aur kissne...
V: Smiled at her, let out a sigh, stared at floor and lifted his eyes "Neha meri girl friend hai."
P: This was the biggest shock for Priya, she was feeling weak now.
Woh...ussne Radhe Shyam ka..
V: Haan main hi woh so called Radhe Shyam hoon. He was grinning now. But suppressed his grin seeing Priya's face.
Priya couldnt take the shocks anymore she just sat on the chair.
P: Itni badi planning...Nehaaa I will kill you. Definitely you are going to see ME. I am just... Oh my god...
Vikram So wanted to laugh but he didnt dare.
P: May I know yeh sab kiska rachaya natak hain?
V: Neha ka.
P: Haan mujhe pata tha she is such a crook. She cheated me and she kept teasing me about RK... hmm she gulped her words as Vikram was there.
May I know yeh sab aapne apne pyaar ke liye kiya yah Ram ke liye.

Priya was blushing now. She could hardly control her smile. Still what Neha did was a shocker to her. She wanted to deal with her asap.

Ram who entered the library in search for Vikram stopped there itself seeing the scene before his eyes. His smile faded away and some unknown feeling was tugging his heart.

She hugged Neha and cried her heart out..am not able to digest his rudeness towards me. Ussne sorry bola lekin usska gussa dimag bhool nahin raha hai. Dil kuch aur keh raha hai aur dimaag kuch aur..bahut dard ho raha hai Neha..yeh sab mere liye ajeeb hai aur anjaan hai..ab kyun yaar?(crying continuously)
Neha allowed her to cry and when she heard sobs she broke the hug and wiped her tears and gave water.
