Part 5 :

It was 6 in the morning, and Priya was already in the kitchen, preparing breakfast for Sudhirji. Sudhirji was pleasantly surprised when she wheeled him to the garden for a hot and refreshing morning tea.

Beta Priya...itna chup chap kyun hai tu...asked Sudhirji as he sipped at his tea.

Kuch nahi Papa ...woh aaj office ka pehla din hai na is liye thoda tensed hoon...replied Priya.

Oh ho...arey beta isme tensed hone ki kya hai...Ram hai na office mein. Waise bhi abhi tu Pihu ke pass jayegi na toh tension aapne aap door ho jayega...smiled Sudhirji.

Oh yes papa...already 7 baj gaye Priya looked at her watch..Main jaldi se taiyyar hoke Pihu ke pass jati hoon. Kal use promise kiya tha maine ke subhe I will wake her up.

By the time it was 7.30 , Priya rushed to Kapoor house, to wake her princess up.

Pihu...my princess..She bent down to kiss Pihu and cuddled her..get up baby...you need to get ready for school..

Wow...Pihu opened her eyes and exclaimed in an excited voice... Priya aunty ...aap a gaye ...

Yes baby...aaj se Priya aunty aapko school ke liye taiyyar karenge...Priya smiled rolling her eyes .

Yayy..Pihu jumped out of her bed immediately , excited to know that her Priya aunty will be there with her instead of the regular Savitri Kaki (Bansi Kaka's wife) who took care of her.

Aunty..mujhe aapko aapne saare books dikhana hai...aur school bag bhi... aur mera tiffin box.. aur water bottle...Pihu scampered to her book shelf and started pulling all her stuff out...

Pihu...pehle aap brush kar lo beta..school se wapis aake main sab kuch dekhungi.. Priya tried to calm Pihu down .

Nahi...mujhe abhi dikhana hai..Pihu reasoned out..Nahi toh aapko pata kaise chalega bag mein kya dalna hai..

Hmmm...woh bhi sahi hai..Priya surrendered ..Ok...aap phir brush karte karte mujhe aapna books dikha do..

Pihu was pretty satisfied with the negotiation, she put toothpaste in the toothbrush and came running back onto the bed...explaining about her precious possessions to Priya.

Ram happened to come into Pihu's room to supervise ...like he would normally do.. and was not at all happy to see the state his daughter was in.

Pihu...what is this? he screamed.. brushing on the bed? And why are you jumping and talking while brushing...paste gira rahi ho pure bedsheet pe...

Pihu immediately hid herself behind Priya...afraid of getting further scolding from Ram.

Arey Ram...kyun subhe subhe daant raha hai meri princess ko... Priya pulled Pihu into her lap..

Kyun daant raha hoon matlab? Tujhe dikh nahi raha hai kya yeh ladki...Before Ram could finish Priya snapped him...Tu idhar kyun aaya hai ? Khud ne toh thik se brush bhi nahi kiya hoga.. aur meri baby ko daant ne chala aaya subhe subhe !

Dekh Priya.. kuch bhi mat bol.. Ram retorted..Mera kabka brush karke, coffee pee ke, paper padh ke bhi ho gaya .. bas ab nahane jana hai! Aur yeh teri princess abhi tak brush leke bed pe kud rahi hai!

Tera problem kya hai Ram...agar tera mann kare toh tu bhi bed pe kud sakta hai! Bas yeh hai ke woh bed bad mein sone layak nahi bachega...Priya giggled loudly. Pihu and Savitri Kaki both joined her and all three of them burst out laughing.

Ok thik hai... Jitna mazak udhana hai udha.. Ram grumbled... Baad mein jab yeh ladki tujhe pagal bana ke chodegi na tab mujhe aake mat kehna!

Haan nahi kahungi.. Priya screamed back... Aur dekhna tere se pehle taiyyar ho jayegi Pihu!

The moment Ram went away muttering to himself Pihu jumped out of Priya's lap. Pihu was quite amused with this conversation, and was extremely delighted that finally her Priya aunty had won. This provided her ample encouragement to continue with her antics. Giving bath to Pihu was the toughest of all, because the little one loved water! She splashed water all over Priya and drenched her completely as she pulled Priya almost inside the tub. Priya somehow could cajole Pihu out of the tub, saying that they needed to do things fast to beat Papa! Pihu as expected was super excited, and got ready quickly in her school uniform and the Priya-Pihu team reached the dining hall for breakfast almost 2 mins before Ram.

Papa har gaye... har gaye.. screeched Pihu the moment Ram reached the dining hall.

Ha ha ok ok.. Ram gave a smiling look at Priya as he sat down for breakfast.

Pihu... jaldi karo... Mujhe late ho raha hai... Ram finished his breakfast and called aloud for Pihu as Savitri Kaki was making her wear her shoes.

Arey tu ja na Priya quipped.. Main drop karungi Pihu ko school mein..

Tu ? Ha ha ha ... Ram chuckled... Halat dekha hai apni? Pura gili ho chuki hai, dupatte mein toothpaste gira hai.. aur nak mein toh jam bhi laga hai..

Jam .. oh ho .. Priya said wiping her nose with a tissue.. Arey bohot time hai main do minute mein change karke aati hoon. Tu ja...

Aise kaise jaon ? Ram pouted..Mujhe toh mera morning kiss bhi nahi mila..

Kaise milti ? Priya smiled.. Subhe subhe itna chillayega uspe toh kyun degi woh tujhe morning kiss?

Arey woh toh main roz chillata hoon... Ram remarked.. Phir bhi milta hai mujhe mera morning kiss! Woh aaj tujhe dekha hai na... is liye mujhe bhul gayi !

Oh Ram.. don't tell me you are jealous!! Priya exclaimed ..

Yes I am .. pat came the reply from Ram.

Haww Aunty suna aapne... Priya looked at Krishnaji who just came to the dining hall from the Puja room.. Ram mujhse jealous ho raha hai Pihu ko leke!

Thik hi toh bola usne... replied Krishnaji.. Jab tu rehti hai na Priya.. to Pihu ko bas aur kisi ki yaad nahi rehta...

Aunty aap bhi... Priya gave a bashful smile as she called out to Pihu..Pihu.. beta idhar aao .. aapne Papa ko morning kiss bhi nahi diya aaj.. dekho woh itne sad hai ke office ja nahi pa rahein!

Pihu came running into Ram's arms as he lifted her up into his lap...

Sorry Papa.. bhul gayi main.. said Pihu as she kissed Ram's cheeks..

I am sorry baby.. subhe subhe aapko danta is liye.. Ram replied kissing his little angel back..Pihu baby aap Priya aunty ko tang kar rahe the na is liye Papa ne aapko danta. Beta aap aunty ko tang karenge to woh nahi ayegi na aapke pass..

Papa.. maine mummy ko bhi tang kiya tha kya ? Pihu asked innocently...Is liye mummy mujhe chod ke God ke pass chali gayi ?

Ram was stunned... he did not know how to answer that! Priya and Krishnaji exchanged a glance...all were silent for a few seconds.. until Priya walked up towards them and hugged Pihu , still clinging onto Ram's lap...

Nahi baby..Aapne kisis ko tang nahi kiya.. Aap toh ekdum good girl ho.. Mummy aapke wajay se nahi gaye God ke pass.. woh to God ko mummy ki yaad aa rahi thi is liye unhone mummy ko bula liya aapne pass. .. Priya replied.. But beta kuch bhi ho jaye.. Priya aunty aapko chodke kabhi nahi jayegi ... God bulaye toh bhi nahi ... ok? Priya lifted Pihu from Ram's lap and smiled at Ram..

Finally Ram left for office, and Priya too got ready to leave Pihu to school. From Pihu's school, she directly went to their office. Priya received a warm welcome from their staff, who greeted her with bouquets, and Mr Gupta , their manager guided Priya to the twin cabins at the fag end of the office.. The cabin on the left had a board mentioning Sudhir Sharma... below that there was another board with Priya Sharma written on it. Priya was surprised to see her name on the board and as she entered she was even more surprised to see how everything was kept well organized inside. Priya became nostalgic as her eyes fell on a photo of Sudhirji and Amarnathji on the table, she remembered how Ram and she had come directly from school to this office to celebrate the 5^th anniversary of their company, the day that photo was clicked.

The ever enthusiastic Guptaji arranged for all the formalities, within minutes she was introduced to all their staff, her laptop and company email id was in place, even the layout for her business card was waiting for her approval. But Priya's eyes were searching for someone... and finally she asked Guptaji about Ram.

Ram Sir apni cabin mein meeting mein busy hai subhe se... Informed Guptaji.. Abhi aate hi honge...

A part of the wall separating the two cabins had a glass partition, and Priya flipped the blinds of her cabin to peep into Ram's cabin; he was engrossed in his work, seemed to be in the midst of a presentation, conversing with two gentlemen, sometimes getting up and writing something on the white board with a marker to explain them the details. He looked so confidant and dynamic, and she was not sure whether she deserved to be in the same position as his within the company, though theoretically she also owned it.

After sometime Ram finished off his meeting and came into Priya's cabin..

Madam... may I come in ? Ram knocked at the cabin before entering.

Ram... please yaar kyun mazak kar raha hai ? Priya quipped ..

Arey mazak nahi hai .. Ram continued teasingly... Dekh uncle ka pura shares tere pass hai, while Dad ka shares are divided between me and Nutz. Toh is hisab se dekha jaye toh tu meri boss hai yaar..

Ram ... please shut up ... Priya replied angrily.. Yaha main itni tensed hoon! Guptaji do bada sa file deke gaye hai... aur mails pe mails forward kar rahe hai...

Ha Ha Ha Ram laughed out aloud... Guptaji ko maine hi bola hai tujhse saare information share karne ke liye. Par you don't worry...aaj pehla din hai ... take it easy .. dheere dheere you will get accustomed to it...

But Ram... do you think I can handle this project? Priya asked doubtfully..

Of course you can.. Ram's eyes glimmered with confidence.. Priya .. just let me tell you one thing, buddy would have never approved of it if you were not capable of handling this. Kal 2 hrs discuss kiya hum dono ne... You just need to utilize your PhD and post doc experience of working with the best of biotechnology and chemical industries in US. I mean you know their business processes, you know their quality systems... am sure you are the best person to handle this project.

Priya felt a bit better after talking to Ram, and concentrated on her work for the rest of the day. On returning from office, she accompanied Krishnaji for an evening walk, and helped Pihu with her homework. By the time she finished her dinner and retired to bed , it was around 11pm. Though she was tired physically, she was satisfied to have lived a fruitful day with all her loved ones around, and for the first time in last two and a half yrs, she was actually looking forward to wake up in the morning and take charge once again.
