Summed up beautifully,Vasu👏
I let out a huge yawn when teeny Nihu went running to welcome her bro. How refreshingly soapish!🥱 Another unnecessary random character addition! Filler, as you say!
I was hoping you'd say something about Vikram's moot comment.😲 When Ram wonders the amount of stress Priya's family would be under, Vikram gives a very pointed reply that for Ram's family the stress would show when he actually gets married. I am so glad Vikram & hopefully Ram too understand the depth of indifference the family has for his well being & happiness.
That Ram is nothing more than an ATM for them. What do you think?

I must say you write very well.. everyday i look forward to your post and have a smile on my face while i read it.😊.. Ok so about the episode... i loved Ram in the boardroom.. He was so lost in his thoughts ( jaago Ram jaago Shaadi se pehle yeh haal hai to shaadi ke baad kya) and after that what happenend was hilarious😆.. Tthe guy was really young for priya.. Shakespear ke bol ne Ram ko kuch der ke liye hipnotize kar liya tha😆 ..I enjoyed watching Vikram's expressions throughout. He kept looking from Ram to that other guy and had a smile on his face... He knew what his friend was upto... I just love this duo..
On the other hand Shipra really impressed me..Yes she is a hyper mother but does love priya.. Her ways may be different, sometimes insulting but has a heart.. Even i loved the mother-daughter bonding and rest of the family rejoicing.. i think priya was having mixed feelings.. I can understand how she must be feeling.. Finally a guy who seems suitable for her.. I am just waiting who it would be?? i hope they pick a good character..
New entry?? Kans mama.. ooops Step kans mama.. lol.. i dont know how he handles the business. Maybe he empties the profit in his pocket just like he robs everything in his sight.. kya bhai-behen jodi hai? By the way what made Niharika commit to Ram's marriage?? I did not miss any episode so why does she have to tell people that Ram is getting married? i mean she could just continue saying that Ram is not interested at the moment and get away with it.. I am sure she has the brains to come up with some good excuse...

PSawyer, lovely analysis.
Indeed, it was a pleasant change in Shipra's character. Firstly, she defended Priya's qualifications, then attacked Ashwin & then had a normal convo with Priya.
The office scene was absolutely hilarious. The poor employee was promoted & demoted in the space of minutes. Just goes to show how obsessed Ram is with getting Priya married off.
I was disappointed that there were no RaYa scenes. Those encounters take the episode to another level.
What's with EK & large families? The mama was an unnecessary addition. A kleptomaniac! Makes one wonder where Ram's father found/dsicovered Nihu. If Ishika's sasural is as well-off as the Kapoors, then why is she always to be found at her maika? I thought she'd got a ghar jamai for Nihu.
Now I guess the mama's suggestion will be to get Priya married to Ram (he probably thinks she'll cower in a corner of the mansion). Little does he know that Ram's scared of her LOL! I wonder what Ram's reaction will be when he's given this solution to his problem. He'll probably be rendered speechless & gulp down all of his meds at the same time 🤣 🤣
The Sharma family's happiness was good to see, but I didn't understand Priya's expressions. Maybe she feels it's too early for a celebration since she's yet to meet the prospective groom. My daughter said that most probably the guy will have some sort of a fault. Let's see 😊
The precap seems to be emotional blackmail for Kartik as well as Ram. Maybe this action of Nuts will set in motion the preps for RaYa marriage.

The success of this show is no character is typecast. Every role has been given its own justification. Thats why I love this show. They have to show some kind of difference between a step mom and real mother, right?

Good analysis, Vasu! 😊

Shipra was a surprise, but it wouldn't be a surprise to me if she suddenly turned sour again when the new rishta which has come goes phut...which I expect it to.

Ram was funny in the office scene, his expressions were hilarious! He has a great sense of comic timing! For me that scene was the best in the episode. 😆 😃 I also loved it when his name was the only one left on the list! 🤣

I don't know why the guy Ashwin is being shown nor why the Mama from San Fransisco. Seems totally unncessary! 😕

The precap really put me off! Is this a dream or something that is going to happen? 🤢

All in all, this episode was not up to the mark compared to the last week and the Monday episode! 🤔

Great stuff, everyone!

On Ram's scene:

Though I giggled through it, there was a very insistent voice in my head completely mocking the whole thing - what kind of businessman, ruthless or not, discusses such private matters in a board meeting or marketing meeting in the open like that? What kind of boss one minute promotes his employee and the next demotes him, all because of his marital status? This, coupled with the Ram of episode 1, who thought he could commandeer and buy a private jet in five minutes flat and then proceed to fly it in stormy weather just to reach his sister's wedding on time doesn't really sit right with me.

Maama Thief:

I too don't understand if he is supposed to be comical or villainous or a mixture of both. Next to him Niharika becomes even more childish and foolish, and it becomes even more difficult to believe that she is Ram's mum.

@neets_ltl - thanks so much for the kind words! I agree with you that in India this habit of disparaging and gossiping about random strangers seems to be a very considerable use of everyone's time. I have never in my life, living out of India, come across the kind of situation where people actively disparage a girl and her education; rather here people praise the fact that a girl is well read and educated and is a working woman.

@preety_219 - Sure, of course you can call me Vasu! Thanks for your kind words and I agree with yours as well!

@maris - hey. Agree with you on Ram behaving a little idiotically. Kind of like Priya teaching and preaching about love in a class designed to give lessons in English.

@Zuby - hey. To be honest Vikram's comment kind of passed me by; we've already had a similar zinger from him in Ishika's wedding ep, where he mocks Ram's family and tells him that they care not a jot for him. To me it seemed like a repeat, and that coupled with Ram's frankly gormless expression - he had his mouth open for about five minutes without a word - didn't do much for me either. I also don't know whether Ram understands what Vikram is telling him; in some respects he seems a little more spineless (or rather, mahaan) than Priya. At least Priya has the guts to talk back to her mother when she deserves it. Then again, Priya is secure in the knowledge that her parents are her own; when you are a blood child, you naturally have less reservations with your parents. Ram knows that he is a step-child, so perhaps this is what holds him back from saying or doing anything to stop the way they neglect him. He probably feels as if they are the only family he has left.

@Nish10 - thank you so much! I think Niharika panicked when she heard that her samdhan had already spilled the beans to some reporter. (Who does that, btw?) She figured that the media coverage that would accompany such an announcement would only create more problems for her, so she came up with what she thought was the right solution. Of course, she's now got one foot in the grave, so to speak, and she needs to back up her words with an actual human being she can hire until the furore dies down 😆

@hamzanuha - hey, thank you! I too was disappointed by the lack of RP scenes - immediately you could tell that the episode lost a few points in cohesiveness and general entertainment. It is a shame that only RP seem able to hold the episodes together for the viewers as the ensemble cast needs to be able to carry an episode on their backs every now and then. I hope the ensemble cast pick up their socks because if we ever have too many episodes without RP, I fear the show will lose viewers drastically. And new entries like the maama are completely pointless and extraneous to what we want to see.

I didn't understand Priya's expressions either - why is she still so sad? Someone mentioned in another post that Priya also has to take initiative and step out into the world in order to see a happy marriage for herself, and I agree. She cannot leave it simply to her parents. Perhaps she feels already that the rishta won't work out since she has been hurt in the past, but if she is going ahead with the whole marriage thing, she does need to at least make an effort.

@abhijeetdaya - true, and finally they have shown that difference between mom and stepmom. Up until now, I found Shipra and Niharika so very similar but thankfully they have distinguished between them quite obviously now.

@ssroomani - hey - I have no doubt that Shipra will revert to her annoying self sooner or later. To be expected. At least though, we now know she is capable of maternal feelings towards Priya, and that really is the most important thing. Now I know she is not simply self-serving, I can tolerate her a little better. The same cannot be said for Niharika and Sudhir.

Loved all the post y'all...

So here are my two cents -

Boardroom & Ram-Vikram:
I actually thought the office scene was alright. Ram is a funny quirky character and I was charmed by it. 😊 It seemed to fit his mercurial personality.

I didn't think it was as OTT and unreal as that awful Singapore boardroom scene. That first intro to Ram was a major disappointment. Will someone explain to me why he flew to Singapore on the day of his sister's wedding just to give that bhashan about a company he knew he wasn't going to buy???? 😕 oh wait. i'm not supposed to think logically.

Vikram's comment re Ram's family's indifference was spot on, and it also seemed to register with Ram in a way...not that it's going to make much of a difference. Why hasn't Vikram realized the Ram-Priya jodi potential yet? We've had SOOO many indications...the poor sec who finds Ram the only eligible bachelor in the company 😆 and many more...Yaar Vikram ...get a move on!

Shipra & Sharma Family:
Whoa! Still a little loud, but at least she stood up for Priya.
Liked the mother-daughter scene...Shipra isn't going to change (and I'd rather they not change her too much) She's supposed to be loud and vulgar and superficial. But she's not vicious.
She reminds me so much of Mrs. Bennet from Pride and Prejudice. Actually, a lot of this show is Pride and prejudice inspired. The best TV version for anyone interested in the BBC/A&E version from the 90s starring Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy.

Loved the final scene when the entire family is in a group hug. In spite of the fact that they all have different personalities and priorities, in spite of the fact that they sometimes ignore priya and act like idiots, you get the sense that they care about each other. Even Ayesha and Shipra. Such a STARK contrast to Ram's so-called family...hope he gets into this mad-cap family to realize what a real family should be like with all the quirks and ups and downs.

Pre-cap...😕 no words...

The best TV version for anyone interested in the BBV/A&E version from the 90s starring Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy. Undoubtedly! I am re-reading P&P recently (and I always smile when Darcy first realises that Elizabeth is "dangerous" to him 😳) and the 1995 BBC version is the only authentic version of the novel. In fact, if Jane Austen had ever seen the show, I am sure she would have been proud. It might as well have been directed by her 😆 the only alterations were the infamous Darcy lake and bathtub scenes, but hey - Colin Firth in a wet shirt? Hell yes 😆

Pre-cap...😕 no words...LMAO - the fact that she is in a peon's outfit made me laugh hysterically for about ten minutes after the show ended 😆😆😆😆 This HAS to be some kind of nightmarish House of Horrors thing, or a parody show, because that is beyond the realm of disbelief even by EK standards 😆

@psawyer

Whooohooo! A fellow Austen enthusiast! and dare i say purist? 😊

The 90s version was brilliant...such a wonderful cast, brilliant screenplay...yes some liberties were taken...Colin Firth in a wet shirt isn't a liberty, it's our right! ok am getting carried away 😆

One of my favs in that version was Mrs. Bennett...she was so wonderful! The actress played her marvelously. Shipra shd take some lessons from her...on how to play a loud vulgar character, whom, as the audience, we loathe but can't help watching with horror and fascination at the same time!
