Some people sacrifice everything, we call them selfless. Some people believe in the value of education, morals, and principles,. We call them well-principled. Some people want to do anything for love- We call them the romantics.

Yet its true that in real world these people are called by one name: idealistic idiots. In today's materialistic world though we learn the value of love, emotions and principles it is money at the end of the day that makes the world go round. At a young age we have a idealistic view of the rosy world but once we face the world we know that those words are best kept in books and movies.

Everyone wants a good match: in other words for men we need a pretty face and for women we need cold hard cash in men. BALH broadcasts the importance of being selfish and how money makes us all dance to its tune.

Both Ram and Priya's mother are dancing to the jiggling of coins. One believes that Aisha would give her a better lifestyle and ignores her well-educated, selfless daughter for the pretty, superficial queen. She is guilty at the treatment and yet firmly believes that she is right. So does Aisha who doesnt recognize her sister's sacrifice but thinks she is hopeless as Priya is still unmarried. From being the savior Priya turned into the burden, hopeless sister who has no chances of being married. The kind fat aunties give taanas about to her mommy.

Ram's mom, on the other hand, has single-handedly ensured that the man who gave her everything she wanted is left alone. She has done it for her kids but she has mostly done it to be the number one priority in Ram's life and mostly the number one receipient of his money.
Once again, the son who gave up everything for her pleasure, the brother who fulfils every whim of his sister has nothing. They take what he gives and give nothing in return

And everytime I see them I wish Ram and Priya were a lil more selfish. Because only selfish people suceed in this cruel world.

The serial balances this superficiality with Ram's friend and Priya's father- the two people who are team ideal and noble things. Yet rather than regular typical tidbits of how mahaan these main leads are they havent made much of an impression on me. Though I loved Friends( forgot his name)'s family and wife.😆

Alot of people say the story isnt different. It may not be but the treatment so far is.. I am liking this show.

Keep your two cents.😊

I really like your POV. And I agree that today's world runs behind money. Even pretty faces can be bought by money. Selfless people are left behind and their loved ones take advantage and use them as a stepping stone for their success. This is nothing new now-a-days but I guess the treatment and the presentation is different and that is what has pulled me into this show. I am really loving it though it has been only 2 days. Really liking the support system these 2 have in the form of friend and father..

Yes!! I am actually getting what the creative team is trying to subtly show-That people should be slightly selfish as being selfless doesnt get you anywhere..

Nice post Neha. I liked ur POV.I agree with you that it definitely is a cruel world. Both Ram and Priya are a bit too selfless and sacrificing sort of people. Although story is not very different, the treatment seems to be quite nice. Vikram seems a very lovable character. Let's see how the show develops further. I quite Liked the first two episodes.
