Does anyone know how to desaturate a GIF on a faulty PS CS6 extended? By faulty I mean I do not have the animation panel, and I work only with the timeline, and I don't have the option of uninstalling and reinstalling it.

I think topaz was used
But you can get the same effect by sharpening and then using the style diffuse effect even thought i dont like it much
I dont think psd was used
The edit looks simple
Since the backgound is black/dark
Work with the curves and you get a little of this effect
Then Duplicate the siggy and put it on soft light mode
Reduce the opacity and fill
And you should get this effect
If not then play with the levels

If you have the timeline, you have the animation panel
You just convert between them
At the bottom of the timeline you will see a small set of squares (bottom right)
Click and you get the frames
Or click the arrow you have on the top right of the timeline and select 'convert to frame animation'
If they don't work, convert gif to smart object and then desaturate using adjustments
I hope these work

That's the main problem! 😆 There are no squares in the bottom-right corner, and neither is any option to convert anything. And, when I convert GIFs to smart objects, PS seems to take it seriously renders it a single frame which cannot be converted back to a moving GIF.

You can't go back once you convert a gif to a smart object but you should be able to see it move
On cs6 the squares are on bottom left
But the drop down arrow should be there and it has option convert to and then convert to frame animation
If you need to reinstall I can PM you a cs6 link that works
You'd be better of with cs5 and QuickTime if you don't want a dynamic link problem which I can also give

^Actually I don't want to go through the farce of uninstalling and reinstalling it, because my parents would never agree. I understand why you say this, but this one was a gift from them and so you know what I mean.

Can I do one thing, that can I save it, and then open it separately? I'll try it out and tell you tomorrow!
BTW, thank you so much for your help!
