I downloaded a PSD long back and it does have a gradient map.. if I apply it on my avis.. I get something like this but my gradient is horizontal.

@Salooni, here's something that might help you:

I have used this pic:

Texture: http://oleo-kun.deviantart.com/art/Texture-05-60888125

Gradient:

You can use either the texture or the gradient!

I have used gradient:

And you get:

If you need a darker layer, go for the texture!😳
