after u merged ur pic properly u need to open pic of the texture...then size it as ur main siggy pic (u can make it bigger but not less)..creat a new layer on the main sig...then copy paste the texture into main pic ...then set the texture properly...then in the right bottom u can see a box having tabs like layer ,channels ,paths etc...just click on the layer tab ...u can see this is set as normal...just click on the down arrow beside that and make it screen ,lighten , overlay, multiply anything that suits ur siggy...

In PS put a texture you want to have on your siggie and then go to options above it and turn it to screen/lighten :)
