Oh okay! So, I went over the entire thing and our thing is similar until the eraser part and you group them instead of converting the second gif into a smart filter. That's the only difference, I think.

That's two different tutorials for the same thing. Hopefully, these will help everyone now. 😛

yes but neither do i have the timeline animation option nor am i any good with gradients so making groups come in handy.😛

ok there 2-3 small things u may want to remember while merging coz sometimes PS may just not be feeling all kind.

NOTE1:. if there are 2 avi's u're merging , then either u have opened a new document to paste both on it or u're pasting one avi over the other in its own window.

If u have opened a new document , after pasting avi 1 on it , close the avi 1 where ever it is on ur PS.
so that u have only 2 windows- a new doc with avi 1 pasted onit n avi 2 waiting to be pasted.

similarly wen u paste avi 2 on new doc ,close it immediately , n now there shud be just one window of that new doc with both avi's on it.

If u're pasting avi 2 on avi 1 in tis window , close avi 2 after u have pasted it.

in all see that theres just that one window on ur PS that u have to work , rest all have been closed.

NOTE2: wen u have successfully merged /blended ur avis n all that is left is coloring and u knw that u will use "convert for smart filters" , then first save ur avi as .gif or "for web devices" or any other extension that u prefer.

This simply means u will have an avi merged but not colored.

Now simply open this avi in PS- it would be working moving all good coz now its just one avi.
Add which ever PSD or watever effect u wanted to add and now save this one as all complete.

NOTE3: if u want one avi in a different color n the other in different n merge them then , simply color them separately -save them, there will 2 avis hence-then open them in PS n merge.
