| This lesson demonstrates how to animate an image with Sparkle Picture Tubes. 2/ Then activate the Sparkle Tube image, and from the top menu, choose File then choose Export then choose Picture Tube. From the subsequent Export Picture Tube dialogue box; enter a unique name for your Picture Tube, then click OK. Then delete the original Sparkle Picture Tube. 3/ Now, activate your Bearded Collie with Roses image by left-clicking its upper menu bar. Then from the top menu, choose Window then choose Duplicate. Then again choose Window then choose Duplicate. You now have three identical-sized images open on Paint Shop Pro's workspace - as illustrated below. 4/ From the left-side Tools Toolbar, activate the Mover/Move Tool . Then left-click each image's upper menu bar and drag them to the following positions. 5/ From the left-side Tools Toolbar, activate your Picture Tube Tool. Then left-click to activate the Sparkle Tube you saved earlier - or select your own Sparkle Tube. Now, depending on your preference, alter the Picture Tube's Scale - (smaller Sparkle Tubes sometimes look better); however, experiment until you have the size you prefer. I have selected a Scale size of 20, which is a good size for my image. Beginner Tutorials - Apply Picture Tubes - Paint Shop Pro 7 8 9 X XI + Notes I find the best Picture Tubes for this type of effect are white, these provide a nice clean sparkle; however, tastes vary - and you may prefer a coloured sparkle - if so, prior to saving it, colourise your Sparkle Tube to any hue you wish using the Hue and Saturation command. To access this command, from the top menu, choose Adjust then choose Hue and Saturation then choose Hue/Saturation/Lightness. (All Versions Keyboard Shortcut - Shift and H). Remember to mark the Colourise box - then adjust the Hue and Saturation sliders until you have a colour you like, then click OK. Note - Applying Each Sparkle Tube Onto Its Own Layer The Picture Tube Tool applies Picture Tubes randomly; for total control over your Sparkle Tube's placement, apply each Picture Tube onto its own Raster Layer. After its application, you can then reposition the Sparkle Tube using the Mover/Move Tool. Tip For a brighter effect, apply your Sparkle Tube over exactly the same area, twice. 6/ Apply The Sparkle Tube Now, activate the first Bearded Collie with Roses image, and scatter your Sparkle Tubes over the red roses - or where you want to place them. 7/ Then activate the second Bearded Collie Dog with Roses image, and apply Sparkle Tubes to it. 8/ Activate the third Bearded Collie Dog with Roses image, and apply Sparkle Tubes to it. Take your time with the application; place your sparkles carefully - ensuring you do not place two sparkles in the same position on any image. Tip Vary the Scale size of the Picture Tube. After you have applied uniquely positioned Sparkle Tubes onto each image, you are ready for the next step. Note If like myself, you haven't applied the Picture Tubes onto individual Layers - your Layers Palette will resemble the following. Note If, after you have animated your image, you dislike the effect - return to Paint Shop Pro and reapply the Sparkle Tubes. Remember to remove previous Sparkle Tubes by clicking the following Undo arrow. 9/ Animate Your Three Image Frames Now you have applied your Sparkle Picture Tubes, you are ready to copy and paste each image into Animation Shop. Important - Merge Any Layers If you have applied your Sparkle Picture Tubes onto individual Raster Layers; you must Merge the Layers before proceeding. To do this, activate your first image, then from the top menu, choose Layers then choose Merge Visible. Now, activate the two remaining images, and Merge their Layers - in exactly the same way. (On this occasion, it doesn't matter if you Merge Visible or Merge Flatten the Layers). Disable The Picture Tube Tool Before you begin the Copy and Paste process; disable the Picture Tube Tool by activating the Move/Mover Tool. 10/ Launch Animation Shop Now, launch Animation Shop, and return to Paint Shop Pro. Then Link Here to learn how to copy and paste each image-frame (one-by-one) onto Animation Shop's workspace - and how to animate your three-image frames. |
