Five TV bahus reveal the truth about their real-life mothers-in-law
Nikki Aneja- "Actually I find it weird calling her my mother-in-law. She is so much like a friend to me. We share a completely different relationship. I think the reel portrayal of saas-bahus is really played up and untrue."

Rajeshwari Sachdev- "I've been married just nine months and I think it is a bit too early to comment on my mother-in-law. But as of now we share a very comfortable relationship. There are certain obvious apprehensions from both sides, but it is natural in any family."
Sai Deodhar- "I have the most amazing saas. She pampers me like my own mother. I have never felt like an outsider in the family and I'm very happy living at my in-laws. I think the reel and real life of saas-bahus are completely opposite."
Delnaaz Paul- "The relationship between Tulsi and her mother-in-law in 'Kyunki…' is very identifiable with the relationship my mother-in-law and I share. The initial sourness in the relationship faded once I settled down and learnt a lot of things. Now I call her up immediately if Rajiv does something I'm not happy with and we share a mother-daughter relationship."
Pooja Ghai Rawal- "I do not relate to the screen image of saas-bahu to my real life at all. In a city like Mumbai, it's a one-off case. The only common thing is the man a saas and bahu tend to fight over. But for me nothing on the TV screen is relative to my life."
